  • Muito Bom Leswi.

  • Hermes Conrad from Futurama can play the Tuba? :O

  • Holy shit guys, just look at how small the top brace is, it's way too small to be a CC or BBb tuba. On top of that the tubing on all of the valves is much too short. It seems to me to be a hirsbrunner F-Tuba, just go to their website and compare the pictures....

  • Pay attention there are 4 piston valves and 1 rotary valve meaning there are 5 valves. My guess is that this is a C tuba.

  • F tuba

  • Nice playing, the cadenza is a bit rushed though.

  • the 3rd pedal C is out-tune, he plays C-B-C

  • F tuba...

  • just to let everyone know its a BBb flat tuba because if you watch the 2nd movement at the very end the notes are c natural then b natural or finger combonations 2-3, 1-2-3 and he plays it that way so there for it is a BBb tuba.

  • @1BIGBUCKEYE9 its waay too small to be BBb tuba, and the valve combinations along with the sound indicate its an F tuba

  • @C79701 you can get a 6/4 tuba in BBb

  • @1BIGBUCKEYE9 yeah, but the pedal C in the cadenza is played on the 4th valve, on BBb this would be 1st, 3rd and 4th. The Fletcher Ab in the cadenza is played on 2nd valve, on BBb this would 1st valve AND unbelievably high! Also the pedal Eb's and F's are played on 1st valve for Eb and open for the F, on a BBb this would be 1st and 4th for the Eb's and just 4th for the F's

  • This conductor, Rafael Payare, in a masters class, directed by Bernard Haitink in Lucerne played Brahms from memory and blew everyone away!

  • He uses his first valve mostly in the first two measures... therefore I may conclude that he is playing a BBb tuba. Anyone who knows something about tuba's and their keys would concur.

  • @Bamchucknorris anyone who knows *anything* about the Tuba wouldn't say first valve action = Bb...

  • @Bulevine Do you have the sheet music, have you played the first two notes, which I believe are a C and and Eb, both of which are 1st valve on a BBb tuba.

  • @Bamchucknorris 3:29 mark. The last 3 lines of the piece. Close up on the fingers, and slow enough to ACCURATELY follow his fingerings. Those are not Bb.

  • No doubt it's a pedal C. Play a C with it on piano or some other instrument...

  • The Tuba is an F-Tuba. Mostly easily determined the last note (Pedal F for F-Tuba)

It is played with NO VALVES, which is only possible on F Tuba.

  • Marvelous performance!!

  • Awwweeeesome!!! Tuba FTW

  • BRAVO!

  • Yeah its an F u consider the fingerings, the c to d flat on the trimilo its F u wouldnt play also the last note is F you dont play that open, Guy who says Bflat u are stupid.

  • correction, it's SURPRISINGLY a B-FLAT. Totally stunned, Followed the fingerings. It's a B-flat.

  • @Helltime8 It's an F dude

  • @Helltime8 wrong

  • thats not a f, it to big, i has to be a c

  • @terrellrell715 The fingerings tell me its an f...

  • what kind of tuba is that

  • Comment removed

  • Pedal C?? Hell yeah bringin some balls to the orchestra concert

  • What key is the tuba he's using. F or Eb or C....Idn cuz it appears to only have 4 valves but I doubt its a BBb cuz that is unnaturally hard to play on a BBb. my bet would be a C...

  • He has a thumb key for low notes~

  • @dontwantnofritos my guess either an F or C....tho what do i know, i'm a bass trombonist

  • @dontwantnofritos after looking at his fingerings, i would say its a f

  • @dontwantnofritos He is using an F Tuba :) you can tell because at 3:20 he plays a low pedal C, which is played as valve 4 (or 1 & 3) on an F tuba (It is played the same on a Bb Tuba, which I doubt it is because of it's size and shape). Hope I helped :)

  • @DKJessDK With Bb tuba, you have to use first, third and fourth valve.....Very nice pedal on a F Tuba!!!

  • @godyrwita Yeah come to think of it... You are right :P Sorry 'bout that

  • @godyrwita But it's actually all four valves down at once to get a Pedal C on a Bb Tuba One Three and Four would be a Pedal Db (or C#). If that would be considered a Pedal tone :P

  • @dontwantnofritos It's an F

  • leswi eres el papa de los helados jajaja

  • pedal c wasn't written in the original, but great job anyway. very good playing!
