I must say this is my favorite scene in the movie too. But the movie is great. I watched it again recently and enjoyed/ understood it even more than last time.
I also like the alternative, director's cut where they have "The Killing Moon" in the background :)
I think the viewer is supposed to assume they had sex... because it jumps from them making out and starting to shed their clothes to walking down the stairs hand in hand with Gretchen smiling... like a 'special moment' ...yep......
I think The Killing Moon works better, because the sound is focused on the instruments rather than the lyrics, which gives it a trance-like score mood, the scene also transitions through different speeds and takes you through the liquid spear to see what Donnie sees, which is at a faster pace, which works for the song, and the scene looks better as well, it gives you more visuals within what he sees and cuts out the 2:34 part, which looks rather silly
D. Darko is my fave film and S. Darko was the sequal.. yeah right whatever it was shite to put it bluntly and i was lookin forward to it. Needless to say i was greatly dissapointed. It dont have fuck all on D. Darko!
@JeremiahRocker I was so pissed when I found out they switched out the songs. "Under the Milky Way" was PERFECT for this song, and they relegate it to the part where he's in the car with his dad? The hell?
