Damn I wish I had my Axis pedals still. I think the biggest problem wouldn't be trying to play that fast, but for the game to pick up hits that fast. I have no problem playing stuff that the kick trigger can pick up, but it's either too fast for the kickbox or the game to pick it up.

I think Hyperspeed + practice mode will help quite a bit with getting it, as I could probably get 11 stars with hyperspeed on (I'm currently just barely making 10, and yes I do have to save up my star power for the blast or else im screwed) as i usually play on hyperspeed 3 or 4.
