  • THANKS ALLI 4 LOVIN JESUS.

  • she is perfect some man is really really lucky

  • @MrSuperwhiteguy First of all, she's been divorced at least once, so someone wasn't feeling so lucky! Second, there's an old saying that goes, "For every beautiful woman you see, there's some guy who's tired of putting up with her crap." Still, I'd like a crack at making her a happy woman!

  • All great songs get played, re-recorded, covered at clubs, but no one does them like the originals. Mabey"Turn The Page" re-do by Mettalica.

  • Steve Winwood's song has been covered countless times, and in truth, I've never heard a really bad version. There is something universal about the feeling the melody and lyrics generate. I would wager that a lot of us have been wasted and coudn't find our ways home once or twice.

  • She's a true talent and does a masterful job on a great tune. I could do without all the glamour shot bullshit. It actually takes away from the performance. I'm not even a country fan but I definately am impressed by her talent. Wish she would do a jazz album.

  • I would love to have heard Alison sing a duet on this song with Stevie Nicks in her prime. To be sure, Alison has the prettier voice, but Stevie's uniqueness would sound interesting with Alison. Oh well, I can dream, can't I?

  • @theflash1952shodan.. They would be great together!.. I saw Allison and Robert Plant a few years ago. What a great concert!!

  • Sultry ... Smooth ... Haunting ....

  • Nice cover. This song is really perfect for a woman's voice. I'm surprised more women haven't covered it.

  • I won't be a man of constant sorrow as long as Alison Krauss bends herself towards the microphone

  • Swert and meloncoly, nrem truing to find my way home for over thirty years, thank you for the memory.

  • Sorry, 1964.

  • Alison Krauss is a musical treasure.

  • I prefer the Winwood/Clapton version, but this is a great runner-up

  • Yeah, how about that!

  • Steve Winwood is a genius for coming up with this song in the first place. It is very interesting melodically, and lyrically it's sad and amusing at the same time. Alison, of course, is angelic as always.

  • @rbilleaud Steve Winwood did not come up with this song.

  • @GoldenNugz Really, that's awfully funny since it's credited to him on everything I can find including the sheet music and 45 I'm looking at right this minute.

  • @rbilleaud You're right. Winwood wrote by all accounts. Why would anyone dispute it without citing some other information that was contrary....

  • @GoldenNugz I wish I could be young again and not know a whole lot about 60's, 70's and 80's music. I'm jealous of you.

Alas, I have to live with the knowledge that Steve Winwood DID in fact write this.

    Peace Out!!

  • She has a voice of an angel.

  • She has an enchanting, singular voice. Not being a fan of country music, I wish she would record more pieces like this where the country element is in the backgrounds, rather than overly dominant.

  • Man, there are so many great covers of this song on YouTube! Love 'em all!

  • Lust.

  • she is so amazing nomatter what she sings

  • Man what a great arrangement and incredible vocals. They aint done NUTHIN' wrong in this one.

  • Wow,what an amazing version. It really hits home coming from a female

  • @TheDixiequeen2 also, check out sheryl crow and the allman bros version

  • jmdurant2000 ..That is too funny, but yet so true!!!!She is awesome!!

  • she can come to my home.....

  • WOW! IF ALISON KRAUSS CAN'T FIND HER WAY HOME THESE DAYS WHO CAN ? I'LL BE SURE TO SEND HER A GPS FOR X-MAS !

  • I love Alison Krauss, and hadn't known that she'd recorded this great song -- terrific stuff:) --

  • Everything she touches turns to gold...even the old rock has new luster. So awesome!!

  • Please play all of he rmusic at my wake. Then I'll be one happy dude! She has he voice of an angel. Love her.

  • very nicely done, Allison!!!

  • Alison Krauss could chant a phone book backwards and it would still be beautiful.

  • @jmdurant2000 What's a Phone Book? (seriously tho, U R rite)

  • Beautiful song and vocals.

  • best in the world, loved by me and everyone.

  • i've always loved this song since blind faith

    good choice alison

  • beautiful cover of one of my `ole time favorites , Blind Faith ....and WELL DONE!!...she`s got the voice of an angel ...

  • @fritshits65 That's exactly right. An angel. And we get to hear her here on earth!! Simply amazing voice. Transcendent.

  • Love me some Kraus

  • any song perfect!

  • I've never heard a bad version of any song by Alison Krause-She kinda grew on me-now I'm a big fan.

  • @jackblasio and I've never heard a bad version of this song. Would love to here her dual with Winwood!

  • @stormbrewermotorbike I would love"hear" her do a duet with Winwood is what I meant say.

  • alison krauss is awesome, not a huge fan of her country genre but she is so versatile. one of the most talented female musicians ever in my opinion

  • wonderful, one of the first songs I ever learned to play!!!Great job! Dorothy Guinn

  • I remember her singing in a "Bluegrass Band" many years ago- called "The Weavers"- but I didn't really fall in love with her until she went off on her own, & transitioned into the "American Standards" mode (since I'm not that much into "Country Music"- but her "whisper-y lilting-voice" is so "PURE"- I can appreciate "ANYTHING" she performs; also- she's quite a "Fiddle Player" to boot!) I love her "take" on a Johnny Mercer tune: "This Time The Dream's On Me" which shows her versatility & talent!

  • @Sunshine22Sam1 I don't believe she ever was with the Weavers, but you at least sound like you know what you are talking about.

  • @Sunshine22Sam1 do you think you can manage a single sentence without speech marks?

  • @Sunshine22Sam1 Hey Sunshine - The Weavers disbanded in 1968 doing spotty pickup performances until 1981, but not really as a functioning band. Alison Krauss was born in 1971 - do the arithmetic. (it’s not really math!)

  • @5000loto You're Right- I "Mis-spoke"! I'm an old Hippie, who goes WAY BACK to the '60's- the folksinger I'm probably thinking about who sat-in & sung with the Weavers- was: "Holly Near" (not that they look or sound anything-alike, but the Weavers go back to the era of Pete Seeger, & I doubt Allison Krausse goes back "THAT FAR"!!!) The rest of what I said- I'll "stick to": Allison has a PURE voice no matter what style (folk, country, etc); she sounds great in Mercers "This Time The Dreams On Me"

  • @Sunshine22Sam1 Me too, was there at the peak - all puns intended.

  • @Sunshine22Sam1 God Bless us old Hippies! We had it right, it's just the world wouldn't co-operate. And look at the shit the world is in now because of their refusal.

  • She's in town! Tonight! Alison, if you read this....MARRY ME!!!

  • Og was Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, and Ginger Baker in band Blind Faith.

But Allison does it justice, and very soothing.

  • I,d like to hear her really belt out a song for once. She sounds good in whisper mode, but how about singing something LOUD.

  • @TheKeetkeet66 check out her singing Jolene at the Kennedy Center

  • @TheKeetkeet66 You might like the live version of "Oh Atlanta" by AKUS from their "Live" CD/DVD released in 2002 or 2003. it's on youtube, and it's the most belting out I've seen her do, and great instrumentally, too, in my opinion.

  • Alison makes everything sound like it comes straight from her life. She sings covers and I never care who did the original.

  • As talented as anyone ever in my opion!
