  • very nice man im into the same type of stuff, sweet guitar too :) check me out on my page i think u would dig it

  • WHAMMY BARS ARE THE DEVIL! THEY JACK UP YOUR GUITAR!

  • can anyone tell me what guitar he used?

  • lol, 4:01 sounds like the "dancing song" from Sleepwalkers (can't remember the name)

  • you should get an ibanez jem or a guitar with a fernandez sustainer so you can do whammy bar tricks forever!

  • or you coul dbe cheap and to the harmonic and do e behind the nut bend lol not quite as cool

  • the whammy bar harmonics you dont pick the string if you want do high harmonicsa you have to put down the bar and the string is going to be flat and you pick in any place of the guitar you can do a god harmonic

  • SOUNDS LIKE JEFF BECK AT THE INTRO. ane the guy's name is jeff haha.

  • 3:30

  • 1:40 "its just excessive but sometimes its fun" then he gives a blank stare..haha lol

  • lol i broke the 4th string when i lifted the guitar up with the whammy lololol

  • Doesn't Joe Satriani do elephant?

  • can a licensed floyd do pretty much the same stuff as a orginial floyd???

  • floyd rose

  • w8 so if i can push and pull its a floting rose??

  • it's calles floyd rose.

    it's not everytime like that.

some other guitars like ibanez have their own tremolos just with a floyd rose style.

there are some normal tremolos you can push and pull like the tremolo on the John Petrucci Musicman

  • no, it's a floating tremolo. a floyd rose is a system that is designed to float, but you can make a normal trem float.

  • great vid, the distortion is a bit...muddy and i dunno...behringery

  • Hahaha, Behringery, Im going to start using that fake word.

  • turn distortion ON please

  • AMEN!!! What was up with the Elephant sound!? Shouldn't it be deeper than that? Not sure he was using the correct harmonics on that one. He did show some pretty cool stuff though.

  • you just gotta pull up the bar slower

  • u sir r correct

supposed to be 5th fret on the D and 7th on the G

  • what is the model number of that guitar , does anyone knows ?

  • it's a prestige S, the only thing that confuses me is that it doesn't have a singlecoil in the middle, so i'd say this is a discontinued model, probably a limited run.

  • its an ibanez S

  • wish i had a floyd rose....but i can still do tricks with my stationary

  • the distortion on that guitar sounds very muddy

  • national athem by jimi hendrix sound with this style very ilimited

  • Comment removed

  • My floyd is not limited to what i can do on my washburn strat.

  • I have a floyd rose on my fender squier and it's really limmited compared to what you can do on virtually any other model

  • thats cus u cant get a floating bridge on a squier.. he has a floating bridge which allows both directions..

  • Yes you can lol.I've also made my standard bridge floating on my off brand

  • are you an idiot? You'd just get it routed out for a floyd forse. If it wasn't floating, a floyd rose would be pointless, considering it takes out a lot of natural resonance from the body and dimineshes the natural sound.

  • you just take a spring or two out and it becomes slightly floating. so you can go up maybe a semitone or two.

  • Just take a screwdriver to the wood behind the trem like Steve Vai did on his original JEM

  • that too!

  • i don't get it. what purpose does this serve

  • sounds like Jeff Beck

  • "kind of sounds like a car starting"

Damn dude, what the hell kind of car do you have? LoL Cool video though!

  • lol, i thaught the same thing just now, and i was scrolling down to type that comment.

  • Apparently, great minds think alike.

  • if i started a car and it sounded like that i would jump out right away.

  • omg very good sound at 0:06 - 0:18 but a little bit too digitized and artificial but still damn able

  • word son

  • man the guitar tone at the intro is so saturated almost digitized in sound......dont know if thats a good or bad thing.

  • wat about the flutter

  • the guitar sounds like a synth in the begginning.

What are the tone settings and what are you playing through (amp)?

  • i thought he meant for guitar hero..

  • this all reminds me of John Petrucci from dream theater. Even the tricks in this video are commonly used by him. John Petrucci is one of my biggest guitar influences and with this video just adds more to my experience

    5 stars!

  • lol, Petrucci doesnt use the whammy bar to often... Steve Vai uses it all the thime...

  • well that may be so but if u are like an extremely BIG fan well then u have heard some neat tricks yet again i have watched some of his video lessons too with some whammy techniques

  • Steve vai = Master of the whammy bar.

  • Dimebag...

  • EVH

  • Kirk Hammett

  • No. All he could do was dive. Steve Vai has much more creative uses for it that that.

Besides, the Satch scream destroys Dimebags dive any day.

  • Eh, it's all about personal taste. I personally like Dimebag. You like Satch and Vai. I respect that. I'm not going to get all rude and start calling you names like pther people would if you have a disagreement with them. I 'm not one of those guys.

  • Very good lesson !!!

  • i don't like that bold something

  • That's pretty cool. I can't wait to get a guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo.

  • i have somekind of fat-10 floating bridge on my ibanez it allows me to do same stuff as floyd rose but it gets out of tune after using whammy bar several times , so can i buy just the locking nut thing or i have to replace the whole bridge system?

  • thanks for the reply man, now i really know what makes the big difference on my problem. YES! the trem bridge. someone also reply to me that my problem was my strat bridge.

now i think of buying a guitar that comes equipped with a floyd rose. again, thanks man for the tip. KEEP ON ROCKIN'!!

  • do you abosolutely NEED a floyd rose to do the dimebag squeals, or do you just need something like what a strat has?

  • Hey heavy long story short yes you do need a floyd style bridge to do the dime squeals (harmonic whammy pulls).

  • @webmasterman Will a Kahler bridge do?

  • Kahler also makes a tremolo thats great for that stuff. it comes stock on a bunch of BC Rich style guitars.

  • @heavymetalwarrior725 Ive been able to do squeals with a Bigsby, you don't need it. Now you won't get a massive drop in tune, but it's enough of a noticeable decrease to where the audience knows what you're doing.

  • @heavymetalwarrior725 i do them on my fender strat all the time.

just make sure you're ready to stop and retune afterwards :P

  • man you are great on that whammy tricks!! i have a questions? i cannot duplicate the sounds of your guitar especially when you do that whammy tricks... is it because my behringer guitar pickups are single coils and not branded like dimarzio or EMG? or is it my vintage strat style tremolo bridge was not like the floyd rose? i have a nice fx which was a zoom 606 multi effects and a nice behringer gm108 amp. but i cannot sound like you... aaarrrgggh please help!!

  • Hey butirogs I watched the video on your youtube page cool song. You have everything going for you as far as the sound goes. Strat bridges can only do so much which means you should be able to do all the dive stuff. Unfortunately you can't do all the pulls. But there are a lot of great players who only used srats and do some really cool whammy bar stuff, look into it and you will find inspiration. Keep rockin I'll keep an eye on your page to see where you take it.

  • what kind of distortion do i use to create this wammy effects i have metal rocker pedal is that enough any advice out there tnx.....

  • You should use a pedal that allows enough drive to achieve the desired result of whammy tricks. Something with alot of gain will also help in sustaining the notes so the trick can be executed. Look into your favorite players who are doing whammy bar tricks and see what equipment they use, this would be a good starting place for creating these sounds.

  • rvdrules not all whammy bars are created equall meaning if you don't have a floating trem some of these tricks may be much more difficult. It would be a good idea for you to check how many springs are attached to your trem because this may cause extra and unwanted tension. Hope this helps hope to hear from you soon.

  • my whammy bar is super hard to push down or up.

  • loosen it

  • How does that sound like a car starting?

  • This course is about open minded thinking and new ideas. A little imagination goes along way. Thanks for your interest in me.

  • It is absolutely true gain is very helpful in these whammy bar tricks. Try doing chords on a clean tone hold a chord dip the bar strum and bring the bar back to normal pitch.

  • in order to do alot of the things he's talking about you need alot of gain. for instance the dime squeals
