@doodle2doo American Bulldogs (which are bred with Staffshire Terriers to make Pitbulls) were bred in the the colonies (american) to hunt hogs, cows, and everything in between. But Pits have locking jaws, which gives them a bad rep.
@tracefleeman American bulldog and terrier don't make a "pit bull" . And the ASPCA along with many other rescues and shelters misidentify dogs all the time. The APBT was made by crossing White terriers (an extinct breed) and the bulldog. Not the American bulldog. And the Am. bully was made my crossing the APBT with the AST and possibly other molosser breeds. If you mix an American bulldog with a "terrier" its not a pit bull. Its a mutt. ;)

Don't blame the breed, blame the owner. Pitties are wonderful dogs. I used to be ignorant and scared of them, but then I opened my eyes. I own two PB mixes now, and am a part of a network to saves these dogs from the shelters and bad households. American Bully for sure has APBT Blood in them but all are mixed with other bulldog type beeds. These American Bullies shouldn't be recognized as APBT in anyway because they are considered a designer breed just like Maltipoos, Morkies, Puggles.

I have a bully that is very agile and keeps up wonderfully if not better than some APBT's. To be honest I THOUGHT she was an APBT and that is also what i was told by the breeder. I recently found out because she is heavy Razors Edge, Gotti and Gaff that makes her a. American Bully. Looking at her she looks more like the Classic version of the Am Bully. I'm learning slowly but surely.

I have to say I don't like the american bully, they're really starting to looke like bull dogs. (Close to the ground, large head, short legs spread far apart.) Also if you know anything about bulldogs then you know they're unhealthy, and tend to have a lot of problems and I see this form heading down the same road.

@NoxDeadly you are right and wrong. these day yes gamebred pits come from ppl who breed for fighting. but if you want a gamebred american pit terreir tht is everything the apbt is supposed to b simply go to a reputable breeder. they have game bloodlines from way back .they have dogs with great temperments. and their gameness is measured by weight pulling and other highly athletic competitions. i have seen 40 pound pure bred american pits pull 7,500 plus pounds in weight pulling comps.

i had a blue puppy that i bought from a dude that had a female from backwoods pits and a male from diego kennels, and the puppy died at 11 months from a heart attack. we went for a run we came back he had plent of water but when i went out to the back yard we found him dead, i thought it was from heat exhoustgin(w/e) but they said it was from a heart attack from an enlarged heart
Just like any breed, theirs ganna be bad breeders, people who don't care what they breed their dogs too. But yeah 35 to 45 is correct, also to oncenothing, if my dogs were unhealthy my vet who took 2 years of finding ( i'm picky ) would of told me so. Great Danes arn't the healthiest dogs in the world and they've been around for a LONG time. So a few health problems shouldn't stop a new breed from being loved and created. many consider All razors edge, Gotti, royal blue, Greyline, Remmy line and may others to not be APBTS even though they are registers as APBTs and some consider bridals and rednosed dogs to be MIxed since over 50% of Registerd APBTs are mixed. Many are now using the New DNA tests to see if there were other breeds mixes into the thier dogs.

@tracefleeman American bulldog and terrier don't make a "pit bull" . And the ASPCA along with many other rescues and shelters misidentify dogs all the time. The APBT was made by crossing White terriers (an extinct breed) and the bulldog. Not the American bulldog. And the Am. bully was made my crossing the APBT with the AST and possibly other molosser breeds. If you mix an American bulldog with a "terrier" its not a pit bull. Its a mutt. ;)

Don't blame the breed, blame the owner. Pitties are wonderful dogs. I used to be ignorant and scared of them, but then I opened my eyes. I own two PB mixes now, and am a part of a network to saves these dogs from the shelters and bad households. As soon as people stop using them as a status symbol, and more like a beloved family member, the breed will be better off. Sad that they are the most discriminated breed out there! BTW - Adopt, don't shop! Save a shelter pup!

I have a bully that is very agile and keeps up wonderfully if not better than some APBT's. To be honest I THOUGHT she was an APBT and that is also what i was told by the breeder. I recently found out because she is heavy Razors Edge, Gotti and Gaff that makes her a. American Bully. Looking at her she looks more like the Classic version of the Am Bully. I'm learning slowly but surely.

I have to say I don't like the american bully, they're really starting to looke like bull dogs. (Close to the ground, large head, short legs spread far apart.) Also if you know anything about bulldogs then you know they're unhealthy, and tend to have a lot of problems and I see this form heading down the same road.

@NoxDeadly you are right and wrong. these day yes gamebred pits come from ppl who breed for fighting. but if you want a gamebred american pit terreir tht is everything the apbt is supposed to b simply go to a reputable breeder. they have game bloodlines from way back .they have dogs with great temperments. and their gameness is measured by weight pulling and other highly athletic competitions. i have seen 40 pound pure bred american pits pull 7,500 plus pounds in weight pulling comps.

i had a blue puppy that i bought from a dude that had a female from backwoods pits and a male from diego kennels, and the puppy died at 11 months from a heart attack. we went for a run we came back he had plent of water but when i went out to the back yard we found him dead, i thought it was from heat exhoustgin(w/e) but they said it was from a heart attack from an enlarged heart

Just like any breed, theirs ganna be bad breeders, people who don't care what they breed their dogs too. But yeah 35 to 45 is correct, also to oncenothing, if my dogs were unhealthy my vet who took 2 years of finding ( i'm picky ) would of told me so. Great Danes arn't the healthiest dogs in the world and they've been around for a LONG time. So a few health problems shouldn't stop a new breed from being loved and created. Different strokes for different folks.

my bad kalabie i didnt mean 25lbs , 35 -45lbs , 25 lbs was the age my pit got parvo, and ur right all dogs get parvo its just found a lot more in pitbulls. yes this is true, i read it in books and my vet told me those exact words

For sure, cause they arn't the APBT, but neither is am staffs or staffies, but people still call them that and people arn't tripping over it like they are the am bully, Another thing, the APBT was also bred for looks, nobodys ganna go buy a dog that doesn't look like a pitbull just because it has the same workout capabilities, get what i'm sayin? But i know what you mean, they are show dogs.

there are american pit bull terriers, american staffordshire teriiers, and american staffordshire bull terriers, this is what you get when you breed them and gene pull. a ugly dog that is fat and has a big head, and maybe look like a rott, or maybe come out blue.. one ugly dog

these dogs are fucking ugly, nothing like a real APBT. thats just gene pulling and excessive breeding those dogs are like 80 lbs and real pitbulls only get like 25-40lbs, and red and black, nose and blues are not breeds, those dogs are going to go through all sorts a problems as they get older.. im surprised they didnt die as pups from parvo

Any dog can catch parvo dumbass.... and no NOT ALL PITBULLS ARE (since when was an apbt 25 pnds? ) but 45 pnds yes. Am staffs get bigger, 45 pnds is the correct fighting size, i myself own a 45 pnd female. And as i recall alot of bullys live over 12, GOD, must be a horrible health problem to live till 12.

Razors edge, gotti, jeepman, watchdog,chaos are almost all America Bullys now. It is very hard to find any of them in APBT standard anymore.

many consider All razors edge, Gotti, royal blue, Greyline, Remmy line and may others to not be APBTS even though they are registers as APBTs and some consider bridals and rednosed dogs to be MIxed since over 50% of Registerd APBTs are mixed. Many are now using the New DNA tests to see if there were other breeds mixes into the thier dogs.

@kalabie nah theres been two bully breeders around where i live gotti and edge dogs and one died of a heart attack and one died for no reason thats what he said and one his dogs is so wide chested he can't walk well so i'm just telling it like it is you got healthy looking dogs the only buly i like are from the kabikano kennels they very healthy

you still on about this? lol he said it not me.he said that his male gotti line age of 5 died and didn't know why that he looked ok was playing and such then the next morning in the kennel he was dead and the other was a female died of a heart attack at the age of 4 razoredge he loves his dogs but they die on him and on this other guy too in nevada they die too young
