hey Scarious history didnt start in 1967. if you want to tell us a story start from the begining. tell us how things were before 1948. or how about telling us the israeli history in the 1930's... oh, i forgot,IT DIDNT EXIST. at that time your grandma an grandpa were making your daddy in some poor little town in russia.
You are right, history didn't start in 1967, it began when God created the world and soon after gave the land of Israel to Abraham's descendents. It was Emperor Hadrian (An occupier) that renamed it Palestine.
BTW, My Grandparents were from Northumberland in the UK..
OK Scarious.. god gave it to the jews (the original jews) not the 8th century european converts. arabs are decendents of abraham just like the "original" jews. personally, I think most of the "original" jews conveted either to christianity or islam and now call themselves PALESTINIAN (Most of todays jews are not decendents of abraham)
Wow that's a sweeping generalisation.. My wife's family are from Aden (That's in Yemen today) she's certainly not a european convert.. I think you'll find 'original' jews far outnumber any converts. You sound like you've been reading history books from 1930s germany.
It separates farm from village, neighbour from neighbour, Suicide Bombers from Buses, Snipers from School Playgrounds. It was a desperate response to a brutal reality. Israel is not an invader, nor occupier, Palestine is a fictional notion. The West Bank was in Jordan and Gaza was in Egypt before 1967, were they occupiers? NO.. Peace, Shalom & Salam
If Israel's wall had been put on the border, the security argument would make more sense. As is, the wall frequently seperates people from their land and water resources, all within the West Bank. This is a big part of why the wall was declared illegal by the International Court of Justice.
There are real people in Palestine. Like it or not, Israel is an occupying army, and is obliged, both by the Geneva conventions and by basic human decency to end the brutality and theft of the occupation.
