ESCLARECIMENTO: O RIO AMAZONAS ENPURRA o Oceano Atlantico.

If it's not SoCal it's this phony wave. I'd rather CRUISE the new skateparks and get 100 times more action. It's like were regressing back to caveman times. Ridiculous. Exactly who's paying for this?
How it possoble?! The river is renamed as other names at somes stretch as: Solimoes, Marañon, Ucayali. well, in truth that "rivers" does not exist cos' is just stretches of the Amazon river!!! See an article at wikipedia: "List of rivers by length". You´ll see amazon at second place but reading the text before the list you´ll see a observation saying: the doubt who´s the longest river between themselves" well, if we have a doubt we have to discover really who´s the greatest between them!
well, according to world´s river measurement classification, The specialists measures river Nilo and amazon since ourselves sources places until ourselves mouths and discovered that amazon river is the largest and either the longest river in the world. Amazon borns in Andes Mountains at Peru and belongs to Brazil and then the Atlantic Ocean. The Basin of Amazon either is the greatest in the world. The depth also be the greatest and either the width and length!!
@msadp you speak as a real exper, but your info ir wrong....kkkk....yes Amazonas borns in Peru, and a good segment of it runs through the country.....I´ve been there.....
do you want to know more about pororoca phenomenon? come to plappolog channel and look for the proper video...sorry for my english but it's not my language...tchau tchau...
this is like, the only place i haven't gone surfing in, and i'm not proud of it either... if it's anything, i'm still a surf virgin because i haven't been here yet... this is on the top of my goal, peace surf
In the indigenous language of the Amazon region, Pororoca, which means "big bang". This occurs in times of great ocean tides. In short, are waves of fresh water that build up in rivers and bays where there is a wide variation between the high-tide and low tide.
In Brazil, the phenomenon of Pororoca occurs in the Amazon region, mainly at the mouth of his biggest and impressive river, the Amazon. The sudden elevation of the water near the mouth - caused by the meeting of tidal currents or against - makes the sea water river runs inside with a speed of 10 to 15 miles per hour rising at a height of 3 to 6 meters (!)
Get out there and surf a tidal bore..ANY tidal bore. It's one hell of a rush. I've never surfed the Pororoca, but the Severn is definitely worth a try, the Mascaret is supposed to be good, and the Turnagain Arm looks pretty awesome.Don't knock it til you've tried it.
the colour of water is due to the river sediments. Its pure, area totally inhabited. Zero polution. However, surfing pororoca is unique. dark, deep water carries branches, tree trunks that may get you tangled in a fall and carry your body for many kms
Wow, this has definitely changed my perspective on river surfing. I thought it was like "you seen one you seen 'em all" but this is incredible. That wave (0:45 -- 0:55) was one of the most perfect barrels I have ever seen in my life let alone for a river wave.
Brilliant.Respect to the Pororoca surfers. If you want to surf a tidal bore, check out tidal bore research society on the net. There may be a bore near you. They don't need to be big, because they're much more powerful than sea waves. Who knows, you could be pioneering an unsurfed wave. Check them out on the biggest tides. Don't surf them alone.
hey you know these waves dont break for ages... you can ride the same wave for half an hour!! just standing there on a board surfing the same wave for 10 - 30 mins!! i saw it on tv today :D

As easily can see its full of mud.
Yeah ok , its naturally but there a lots of places where the water is free of chemicals, mud , etc.
Just crystal clear water.
If its in the Alps or in the Caribean doesnt matter.
But the Amazon is obviously a dull, muddy water and definitely not clean :D
