  • The Luftwaffe March .....

  • This sounds very good ....Very good combination...I paly in the star of knockagh accodron band and we dont paly this piece...... i agre that flute bands are taking over but there will always be some one who wants to hear a good accordion band...I am only 15 ad ahve been playing for many ears and have been in the band since i was 2 or 3 playing the triangle but there a few members of the band who are under 20!!

    well dun guys xx

  • Flute bands do seem to be more popular i'd say mainly because of how easy it is to pick up the instruments but your right as Bandsmen/women we do love to hear accordion bands playing well and enjoying what they do.

  • This is truly marvelous! I didn't know that these existed.

  • I have only seen an occasional accordion in a very few marching bands in the U.S. It is quite something to see an entire accordion marchnig band in a parade. Brilliant job.

  • Morty, as you can see from the video this is two bands marching together - Vow and Dunloy - two great bands, but I think I have to give precedence to Dunloy. If you can, try to watch any of their videos.

Sadlly, accordian bands are losing popularity here, as the flute bands are becoming more popular.

    Best wishes

    Helen

  • Hi Helen just to correct you this is not the Vow Accordion playing with Dunloy it is Brunswick Accordion and iam a member off it they are from Annalong.

  • im in that band its the vow

  • I think you mean Vow AND Dunloy!!

  • Very Nice Music, It extremely difficult to play an accordion and march at the same time. They do it well and its a real pleasure to listen to. Real Nice

  • WOT A LOAD OF SHIT HAIL HAIL

  • You are a jealious Fenian Bastard. Wank Wank

  • Ron Goodwin would have been very proud to hear this!

  • absolutely fantastic

  • Its so refreshing to hear this - I wish there were more accordian bands in Belfast.

  • Excellent.

  • fantastic!

marching accordion bands do not existe anymore

    in our country (belgium).

if that would be, than would play in it !

    marvelous!

lots of sympathy, and greetings from flanders

    alain

    for the music 5***** !!

  • does anyone know the name of the piece of music?

  • The tune is a March called "Aces High" but also known as the "Luftwaffe March" composed by Ron Goodwin and used as in the film "Battle of Britain".

  • im a great fan of accordion bands but this is superb! great idea combining forces! theyre like a military style! excellent

  • omg i wanna join dunloy!! lol i can play all those type of tunes!!! :D:D i play a 120 bass piano acc :P

  • As a RAF apprentice I have marched in such a band.

It good to see how smart they march not too fast and all in step. The Drum Major set the tone of the whole band, with good music well played.

I was a member of the RAF Apprentice Wing Band,RAF Hereford 1966.

Flt Sgt Brown would be proud of those accrdion players.(Band Master.)

  • Could listen to this all day

  • The best two bands in the country

is one of many good successful Bands on the road. These Bands has nice appearance, style also good standards for playing good music:

  • Do you know if there are any CD's available for either the Dunloy or Brunswick bands?

  • is the lads with celtic tops on watching does that still happen?

  • where can i get a cd of this great band

  • that was bloody good well done ,this sets the standard for accordian bands all right

  • Would love to see this kind of band live in a parade sometime.

  • I just love the two videos with this marching band.

I love and play the accordion, so I know to march and play and keep time with out the music jarring up and down takes a lot of skill. (Plus not tripping over one's feet.)
