  • What's the music at the end of that video?

  • to whoever made this video: you rock!!!

im sick of hearing storys about womb nazi's denying women vital medication and trying to rule their reproductive health. If they did the equivalent to a guy theyd be closed down and ridiculed for being uptight big noses's.

btw femenisting is an awsome and interesting website, check it out even if ( "shock horror :O" ) your a guy.

  • I don't think they can quite look passed the fact that it does "control birth," and that it has so much more positive actions. It regulates period flow, sometimes even lessens it, reduces breast pains that are often common before or during the menstrual cycle, and virtually gets rid of, or lessens cramps and uncomfortable negatives during the cycle.

The Anti-Choice stand is very immature and not very well thought out. Whatever happened to separation of church from state?

  • Fuckin' A, fuck those idiots. There's something just inherently wrong with a pharmacist (whose not even a doctor) trying to make the decision of what's right for you. When you have a job like they do, when you have a responsibility, then just leave your god at home, go to confession on saturday and apologize for whatever but don't try to push it on me.

  • Then go to a pharmacy where you can get your precious drugs. It's that simple.

  • Well said! Thanks Jessica!

  • How come when a woman sleeps around she's a slut and when a man does it he's a pimp? Or like when a man pee's standing up it's normal, but when a woman pee's standing up it's "weird"? Or when a man shaves his balls he's normal but when a woman does it she's "strange"?

  • ok? I don't really see the big deal. I've been to pharmacies that refuse to sell condoms on moral and religious grounds(and have been given gay abstinence flyers). They don't want the store they own to sell certain products? Fine, a choice they make which will effect the business ,but its the choice they make.

  • Why unbelievable?

  • Personally, if a pharmacist decided to play God with me, and second guess my doctor and I as to what meds I should have, I'd do everything in my power to have them fired. The world does NOT owe them a living, and I am sure that if they find their work so unsavory, others would be willing to take their six figure jobs.

BTW..PUBLISH the names and employers of these pharmacists. I for one will boycott their stores.

  • The same pharmacists who refuse to give a woman the morning after pill on moral grounds, will hand out Viagra to single men. If your going to oppose on "moral" grounds, shouldn't a mans premarital sex be just as offensive as the MAP pill?

  • Of course not, don't be an idiot. Many pro-life people believe that life begins at conception, and thus that this kind of refusal prevents -murder- (at least theoretically), which is something most people would agree we have a moral responsibility to do. This is how retarded the abortion debate has become, with both sides pretending that their opponents are OBVIOUSLY wrong and refusing to address the underling questions.

  • Love the Salt n' Peppa at the end, nice touch.

  • I work at Target and I was trained in the pharmacy because our anti-choice pharmacists won't hand out Plan B. On the one hand I'm glad that I have the opportunity to help women, but every time I hear the "additional cashiers to the pharmacy" alarm go off, I become livid. If they didn't want to hand out certain medications, they should have gone into another line of work. Not only that, but I'm doing the pharmacist's job for them and am not being paid as much as the pharmacists are to do it.

  • That's ridiculous... if they're so anti-abortion, then why don't they carry birth control, seeing how it lowers the demand for abortions?

Oy vey, idiots are everywhere. Stupid anti-choicers.

  • Wanted: More pro-choice people entering the medical profession. There are shortages in many areas, especially nursing. Having trouble with college? Got the "guts?" Consider nursing. Many nursing jobs do not require four-year college degrees. Nursing is a foundation for many other medical fields that do require four-year degrees, including pharmacists. Employers can even help in the matter with tuition programs, etc. Worthwhile for the right people.

  • This is a very simple issue for me. If you have serious moral objections to dispensing prescribed medicine to anyone for any reason, do not pursue a career in pharmacy. It comes as part of the position. Doctors will keep prescribing birth control, and despite the absurd "moral" refusals of Christian lunatics to do their job, women are going to keep taking it.

  • Actions against Wal-Mart's official policy... Now - that's illegal.

    =\

  • thats messed up that they doing that they shouldnt be doing that

  • Pharmacists who refuse to dispense prescribed medications should be removed from their position. It is not their place to make a medical decision, it is the doctor and the patient who make this decision. It's outrageous that this still happens in the 21st century.

  • nvm, i already read what the song is from another comment :)

  • ohhhhh, i love the song in the end. who sings it and what's the name of the song?

anyway, i don't understand why people try soooo hard to push their beliefs onto everyone. just because they are pro-life, doesn't mean they have the right to take away everyone else's choices away. isn't that what this country is about? freedom and opportunity...? so what's their fuckin deal?

  • Preach it, Jess.

  • Thank you for saying this. For getting this out there. Thank you.

I worked for NARAL here in WA and we did a survey and found out that 1 in 10 pharmacies either refuse to stock or dispense plan B. Its insane.

Whats next they deny patients their AIDS medication, or stroke patients the medicine they need? Seriously.

  • Not despencing ANY contraception?

I'm sorry but thats just fucking stupid. The word is not going to end if someone shags outside marrage but somone's life might be ruined if they can't get hold of some contraception.

Does this boycott extend to condoms I wonder. No doubt some wanker will find some derainged, bible-bashing reason for condemming them.

Playing immovable object to the unstoppable force of human sexuality can only end in tears.

  • This song rocks! It's none of your business!

  • Thank you for this, Jessica. I first read about the anti-choice "pharmacy" in Virginia via the Atlanta Journal Constitution and I was furious. I am calling for a national boycott of all pharmacies that disrespect women.

  • Salt N Pepa's "None of Your business"

  • These pharmacies need to have their licenses revoked. It makes me furious that these fuckers constantly seek to impose the bronze age morals of their Abrahamic blood god on others and they have been tolerated and pandered to for far too long.

  • It seems odd that those that are pro-life seek to criminalise/restrict access to contraceptives and birth control. Perhaps the Pharmacists For Life should start selling coathangers? Because abortion was popular way before it was legalised (that's why activists had it legalised, duh). Back then the rich went to black-market doctors, the poor used DIY methods. When alcohol was criminalised, it didn't do anything but line the mafia's pockets with cash. This will do the same, and kill more people

  • Thanks for this! These guys really get my blood boiling, they're probably like Palin and think Dinosaurs were around at the same time as people too, gah!

  • Not providing medical treatment to people who have every right to it is just horrible. It's not "Christian" it's a horrible invasion of someones rights.

  • Not even birth control pills? No condoms? Is this 1920? AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Bet you they carry erectile dysfunction medication.

  • Or men. I want my condoms.

  • Thank you, as always, Feministing.

  • I agree fuck them.

  • Rock on Jess!!

  • Great video! I hope this crazy stuff doesn't happen in Canada.

  • Great vid as always, Jess. I've had some comments on this, but this is on point.

  • I wish I could post on the website. after 3 emails asking for help and being icnored I'm feeling pretty disgruntal.

But I wanted to say something about this topic. My doctor a few months back wanting to help solve a problem in relation to my reproduction organs was going to prescribe me birthcontrol. it had nothing to do with safe sex as I am not sexually active. So the idea of Pharmacists refusing to sell it to me pisses me off. I don't need them to tell me what my moral choice is. grrr...

  • Wait... They're against condoms and the morning-after pill? In my country I've never met anyone (not even a Christian) who believed in abstinence and was against contraception. Why "Pharmacists for Life"? Contraception doesn't even kill a baby!

  • It's Salt n Pepa's "None of your business"

  • Love the music this week!

    Fuck you Pharmacists for Life!

  • Thanks! I looked for the song forever because I knew it would be perfect. ;)

  • What's the name of that song? It's familiar, but I can't place it...

Great video, BTW. It'd be really scary if pharmacists here in Oz started pulling that crap (only Catholic hospitals threaten to now).
