  • Fucking Samsung ruined a good song....

  • heard this on samsung commercial i was like wasn't this in lost in translation?

  • fuck you samsung

  • I also came here because of the commercial this song was played on. Nice track. Relax. Deep breath...exhale...Aaahhh...soothing.

  • This song plus rainymood

  • I came here because of the Samsung Galaxy Note commercial =D

  • I saw this used in a commercial. Never thought that this playlist would have any songs used in public media.

  • i love how some songs give my a visual of a landscape, and it's raining not a hard rain but calm and soft rain. and it would fall on my skin and i could actually feel the rain drops, and then i'm walking in amazement but like i'm happy really happy it's raining. but i'm walking to a cliff where wave of an ocean crash into the cliff... yea such an amazing visual. i feel so calm and relaxed, so refreshed.

  • and i missed her so much..

  • Always reminds me of my trip to Hollywood during May 2004....Stayed at the Roosevelt listening to this song while in flight and at the hotel. Weather was nice and it was a quiet relaxing trip.

  • how bigger the city how more lonely people get!

  • i'll have a lobster tail, two fish, a side of beef, and twelve pigeons. yes i said twelve pigeons, and i want them cooked this time.

  • This is a good song to take a walk in the rain alone to.

  • I went to tokyo with money i stole, spent it all on hookers and booze the first night, slept next to rivers, traveled around the back alleways with old women with cancer, and slept in the dirtiest places that exist. i never felt more alive in my life. I was alone, but not lonely. I know it's not Kyoto... but, whatever.

  • @sgisi414 you sound like a respectable human being, please come to dinner with my family

  • @calumjlindsay Lol, love it!

  • you dont have togo to tokyo to feel alone!!!!!!

  • I didn't read the description of the video...I thank you for gaving me the title of the film..Now I just have to find a way to download it ;)

  • it's a great song and a very good movie too!

  • The girl in the picture looks like Scarlett Johansson!!!

  • @pilcards as a matter of fact, she is Scarlett. You know what, im not gonna be an asshole like most of the trolls here and even tell you that there is a good movie called "Lost in translation" as you can read the description above because what you hear now is actually a soundtrack( as a matter of fact again) so now u got a name for your movie night list. its good and waiting to be discovered by you. May the force be with you :)

  • I streamed tears to this film.

That scene in the bar/lounge near the end gets me more than anything. You could feel how they were falling for each other. Incredible passion, for people who know what its like to fall in love..beautiful.

  • wow what are all these lonely comments about? T.T

  • man, this duo make some really nice music. this is the kind of sound I am striving for but I know i can never be as good and as unique as these guys. hats off to you fellas :)

  • there are two parts of my life, the one before and the one after this song.. 'this made my day...' no, this made my YEAR! i so f**** love you and you are so amazing <3

  • i wanna be alone in kyoto with this miracle song

  • Plant typhoon's song

  • I was born by myself. I lived my childhood by myself. I went to the playground by myself. I studied by myself. I practised musical instruments by myself. I played soccer by myself. I went on long bike rides by myself. I thought about how a life with some friends would be like.... by myself. I became depressed by myself. I failed high school by myself. I tried the odd job here and there by myself. Even now I eat, breath and sleep by myself. Eventually I will die... by myself
  • @CleverDjembe noone cares, fuck off

  • i love how this part of youtube makes you think about your life and flashbacks

  • @shivzzi Ikr, it's the power of the mystical part of youtube.

  • Great movie. You must be grown up to get feel of this kind of loneliness without anger and bitterness.

  • I've never been alone in Tokyo. Until I played this Song.

  • Love this band, love this film.

  • Lovely song associated with a terrible film.

  • @theendingnote booooooo. never understood lost in translation hate, easily my favourite film.

  • @calumjlindsay Full of "light-hearted racism" and stereotype and doesn't represent Japan at all.

  • @theendingnote wouldn't describe any of the film's content as 'light hearted racism', it just derives humour from cultural differences. and no, it doesn't represent japan, in the same way that eternal sunshine of the spotless mind doesn't represent america. how does a film have an obligation to 'represent' the nation in which it's set?

  • @calumjlindsay "lip" "rip"... It doesn't unless it is trying to set a scene, like LIT is.

  • @theendingnote what do you mean? every film has to 'set a scene', all films are set somewhere. a foreign director trying to 'represent' a whole nation in 90 minutes seems much more offensive to me than any of the potentially 'racist' moments in LIT. and as to the "lip/rip" example, it's hardly a case of laughing at the Japanese for their pronunciation, but rather the confusion it causes.

  • @calumjlindsay When the key thing about the film is the location, then you'd hope that they would get it right, yes.I thought I'd do a quick google search to see if anything came up of Lost In Translation racism. It's not laughing at the pronunciation, but it is portraying them as fools using old stereotypes. No joke was made out of the stars' terrible Japanese.

  • @theendingnote i'd say that LIT does get it right though. it's not just a film about tokyo, it's a film about being an outsider in tokyo, and i'd say coppola gets that about as right as she could, having had that experience myself. i did the same search earlier, an article called 'A Sampling of Japanese Comment on LIT' gives both sides of the argument from a japanese perspective. i can understand your concern about stereotyping issues to an extent, i'll have to re-watch it with that in mind.

  • @calumjlindsay I don't mean to sound offensive, but I think the stereotyping was necessary to emphasize that two strangers can have a deeper impact on each other in a foreign place because it gives them strength and common ground. I doubt they would of built that kind of relationship if they met in the states.

  • @calumjlindsay I'm currently living in Tokyo, so I too have had the experience myself and have not once felt alienated by Tokyo, either in the centre, or where I live outside away from the neon lights, and gyaru, etc. The writer of the article is Chinese. So it would be very easy for her to overlook the potential racism and stereotype concerning the political tension between the two countries' people.

  • I've been alone in Tokyo. Then I took an arrow to da knee.

  • I went to Kyoto and I got the clap.

  • Beautiful sound!!! Sad but relaxing!!

If i go to Kyoto i'd like to hear this song while walking alone though the streets♥

  • this happens, would likto ee kyoto and tokio

  • Comment removed

  • The feeling you get when listening to this song changes in a complete way after you have actually heard it alone in the streets of Kyoto :)

  • Yall' notice Kyoto and Tokyo consist of the same letters :O??

  • @Ph0be That's because the full name of Tokyo is

東京都/Tokyo-to, and Kyoto is 京都. So Tokyo is literally East Kyoto, or eastern capital.

The capital moved east from Kyoto to Tokyo in 1868. Before that Tokyo was called Edo.

  • Trippy. I've actually have been alone in Kyoto. My friends all left and I stayed behind for 5 days. Don't know why I wrote this but I did.

  • @kitsune090 Oh year? I'm a Japanese girl. I've been alone in India. I saw many Indians everywhere and spoke to them in English. Then I still can't feel a genuine connection with them...

  • Breeze of Air....on my armpit

  • Is there anyone else here who hears a little bit of Timbaland ft. Nelly Furtado's Give It To Me at 2:12 and of course we know that that song kinda sucks and is way to poppy for me and on the other hand we have AIR wich is great!! Just heard something formiliar and started thinking who may or may not stole it from AIR... nevermind..

  • this is the closest audio piece that reminds me of the calgary olympics, president reagan, the berlin wall coming down, mandela being freed, the pope visiting nyc, etc

  • Air is amazing

  • Not sure how I got here. This is fun. Tehe.

  • My first visit to Japan was alone. Something about it deeply affected me. I've now been living there for nearly five years

  • @Klamath2046 really?? ive always wanted to live in japan

  • Don't know why, but it make me think of Chiiro, in hayao miyazaki's film. When she just arrives, and is searching for her parents everywhere around...

  • @Doloress2305 Chihiro from "Spirited Away"...I just watched that with my BF, two nights ago.! I commented to him how I loved the way the wind caught her hair..<3

  • @callmelynx true story bro, changed my life.

  • @callmelynx That made my head hurt.

  • @callmelynx You feel disconnected. Today they call it depression, but you're not disconnected. I read your comment and felt your thoughts, just like you see the light from a distant star in the night sky. You think you're alone, yet you're not.

  • I like being alone :D

  • @S96Blue me to :D

  • @opti95 mmm... no it doesn't...

  • @xryryryliex hmmm well maybe a little? it's sad when i can't even trust my goddamn ears..

  • One of the great makers of sound on the planet. There is hardly a piece by Air that doesn't make me want to be alive and just curious about what is going to happen next. They inspire and heighten my senses.

  • Air is magic

  • I'm alone in Alaska.

  • @splarrrrk Me too.

  • ti tu ti tu ti tu ti tu ti tu.... ti tu ti tu ti tu <3

  • This is Tokyo, not Kyoto, same country thought ; )

  • @TheGreatShidax i think the title really meant kyoto cuz when the song came in the movie it was on kyoto.

  • @TheGreatShidax Noob, song is called Alone in Kyoto. She actually goes to Kyoto alone and drives and walks through city. Films taking shots at the city and her walking through city. This song plays along. Go watch film before you comment, please.

  • @TheGreatShidax though, not thought : )

  • it took me right there--------

  • I've been alone in Kyoto. So I found a French girl in a coffee shop. We went to a club and met some Swedish guys and some Japanese girls. Then I wasn't alone anymore.

  • @serp82 ahaha that made me smile :) hope you had a great time

  • @serp82 I lived in Kyoto for 3 years in Arashiyama - you really feel the irony when you see all the Japanese from Osaka come to arashiyama during sakura season and say "Dammit, why are those assholes here?" - and then you remember you're American. Holy shit, Kyoto is still so normal even now - from Teramachi to Uzumasa, from Kurama-dera to Kiyomizu-dera.

  • @serp82 really? i've been alone tokyo. i met a japanese girl in a mcdonalds. i text my a friend who came later and we met some other foreigners and japaneses. Then I was still alone...

  • Comment removed

  • @serp82 that story was retarded

  • @serp82 Sofia Coppola approve this message :D

  • @serp82 I was working in a coffee shop in Kyoto. Some lonely guy chatted me up, for a week I couldn't get rid of him.

  • lost in translation will always have a place in my heart.

  • this will be my alarm clock now, or maybe the beginning of my album. wow I love youtube.

  • lol some troll only has to type one sentance bashing the video to get multiple paragraph sized replies

  • one hundred likes... fifty likes... is really like to put mine too, but it just looks so perfect!

  • Isn't this the ending song of Mushishi? Didn't know it was an air's song, sooo cool.

  • @rgxlance Hm if you talk about the live action movie, I checked to be sure and it seems not, though it definitely sounds like a Mushishi song for sure :)

  • fhif fbjhfe fheufbbwubfsd fweibur brian

  • back when both Sophia & Scarlett still had their baby fat ...love between an older man & young women ? Absolutely a beautiful theme in a blank society that rushes around at 60mph & life is an Autobahn mad lurid dash among the neon digital commercial rubble . Read the beginning of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam for a clue ...

  • What is this??? Is an instrumental intro with voice dalays??

    Fine!

  • Good soundtrack, great city to set a movie in, but dumb movie.

  • @iaindmac1 ah maybe you didnt like it but defnetly not a dumb film, beautiful filmwith a very subtle themeall captured perfectly probably one ofmurrays finest after razors edge

  • @iaindmac1

How can you feel the soundtrack, but not the movie. They go hand in hand

  • Who is the girl in the video?

  • @ireallyhateusinguser Scarlet Johanssen (may have spelt her name wrong) I think x

  • @ireallyhateusinguser Scarlett Johansson. One hot piece of ass.

  • Cool. The kind of music that right now totally suits my moment of mellowness. Could do with more pics of Miss Johannsen. Can't hurt to have more.

  • haha groundhog day

  • In a month I'll be alone in the streets of Kyoto listening to this song...

  • so the movie is called Air...is it based off the manga Air?

  • @RDSRELOADED The movie is not called Air, that's the band's name. The name of the movie is Lost in Translation, so nothing to do with manga.

  • @alieneduardo

yeah i figured how reading more comments and looking it up on netflix thanks tho!

  • @RDSRELOADED Nerd, go back to onemanga. I think you've wandered a little far off from your usual browsing.

  • nice movie,i love Air ,but i dont like this song..
