He's death was very mysterious....... He was assumed alone on his property, opening a get and his car rolled back and crushed him with the open door against a tree..........In my opinion there was a a intervening hand.
He was dead set against oil and gas in the Kimberly.
I enjoyed his shows about ten years ago. A car accident, oh my god, one of the best survival guys died in a car. At least it wasn`t a stingray. I learned sooo much from him, but I`m pretty sure I `ll never need it. Anyway, it was a pleasure, Malcolm.RIP
Dont know about you people, but i sure miss Malcolm Douglas, he was real good bloke. I met Malcolm on many occasions when i am tour guiding around the north, always had time for a chat and a cup of tea.
the word 'icon' and 'legend' gets bandied around a lot nowadays but this bloke truly was! R.I.P m8. Watched you since i was a kid and you taught me and i am sure many others with your exploits. The world is a sadder place without you!
R.I.P & best wishes for his family from germany....always saw his series as a child and especially enjoyed, that he was fishing everywhere. It seemed like he could catch a nice barramundi even in the smallest swamp puddle in the outback.

G'day,a true iconic aussie, may his legacy and soul live on through us,How?We can devote ourselves to help finish what he started, for instance, saving the Bilby,in 20 years time i don't wanna see people saying i wish I could've,I wish i should've.The blokes at Taronga are trying. Why aren't you?
The thing I used to love about watching this blokes doco's was what you saw was real, no staged situations etc.
I loved the fact you could see him tackle some of the most extreme situations imaginable & then he'd sit down around a campfire & show you his recepie for cooking up some scones & a cup of tea!
Every Australian should be proud of this man & what he was trying to acheive for our great country.
RIP Malcolm Douglas. Your kicked arse *decades* before Bear Grylls. Watching your bush documentaries as I was growing up helped plant the seed in this city girl to seek out, understand and explore country. May your spirit live on through your work. A true Aussie legend.
@thevigilanteatheist Further proof why the world is so fu##ed up with people like the vigilanteatheist inhabiting this earth. As of today malcolm has died after his car hit a tree on his property....omg we have lost another son of australia....thanku m8 for all ur work u will be missed alot...rip..
R.i.P MALCOLM DOUGLAS born 1941 ~ died 23rd Sep 2010, aged 69 ~aka the original Crocodile hunter & "Barefoot Bushman". Malcolm aged 23 & a mate went on a 6 month trip around Australia which turned into 4 years, which they filmed, & turned into the 'Across the Top' documentary, which holds the rating record for a doco on Aussie TV, followed by 50 more documentaries he made for Ch 7 & 9., including top ranking 'In The Bush With Malcolm Douglas' on Ch7 ~he was a top bloke from the Top end ~ R.i.P
What an absolute legend this guy is, Wish he ran a school to teach the next generation of Australian boys how to do it all up the top end, I reckon blokes would be lining up to learn from the master
Malcolm you the MAN!!! I used to watch every single episode growing up and I reckon he is a legend. Soon as I heard that music at the start of the show I was glued to the tv. I wish I had a chance to go on one of his outings up north to get a feed of barra and mud crabs. One great Australian is he.
