@WineBeerLover Let me explain. I mentioned the trials the Poles went through in Katyn. I was at a Holocaust memorial service. The Jewish people there were shocked and mentioned what they went through in Poland. I personally think that Katyn was bad - that does not change the fact that Jewish people I have spoken to say they were treated very badly by Poles. They were young children at the time, mainly girls, 6 or 7 maybe, and survivors of Auschwitz. Would they be biased? I don't think so.

There are many evidence of the NKWD responsibility. And to those that are denying facts - you shoud not worry only about Polish victims of Stalin reigns, you should worry about milions of Stalins victims that were stimeted to 60 milions (after Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn).

I recall watching this devastating film at a Lund cinema with Swedish subtitles, even though I understood neither language. The sequence with black vans transporting the Polish soldiers to the abbatoir eerily recalled what I'd read in volume 2 of "Gulag Archipelago." Our Free World is hypocritical by exclusively focusing on the crimes of the Nazis when our own Eastern ally, the USSR, had a death industry of its own. @jetulik I have the DVD, its a good movie. I think, like you, it could have been a lot better. Of course when an American director does a make of Katyn, it will be praised as an 'work of art'. But we are seeing this through an eye of Polish directors and actors. I give it 3 Stars.

This film should have brought the Katyn massacre to the attention of the world in the same way Schindlers List brought the worlds attention to the Holocaust.
But this film is so bad it has been forgotten already. Very few people outside of Poland have seen it....and I have read many comments on IMDB from Polish people who are very angry also.......It is a waste and all those involved should be ashamed for wasting the opportunity to document the Katyn massacre through film.

@WineBeerLover Let me explain. I mentioned the trials the Poles went through in Katyn. I was at a Holocaust memorial service. The Jewish people there were shocked and mentioned what they went through in Poland. I personally think that Katyn was bad - that does not change the fact that Jewish people I have spoken to say they were treated very badly by Poles. They were young children at the time, mainly girls, 6 or 7 maybe, and survivors of Auschwitz. Would they be biased? I don't think so.

In 1990 Mikhail Gorbachev admite that the crime was done by NKWD, later known as KGB, the special police of USSR. He have also handed over the part of NKWD archives about that crime to Polish Gover . Exists original order of Lvwrientiy Beria signed by Stalin and many members of soviet union's goverment. In 1972 in Izrael one jew named Abrahim Vidro published in Maariv and later in Thunderbolt an interview about depositions that one NKWD officer of jewish origins had told him in 1940s in USSR.

I recall watching this devastating film at a Lund cinema with Swedish subtitles, even though I understood neither language. The sequence with black vans transporting the Polish soldiers to the abbatoir eerily recalled what I'd read in volume 2 of "Gulag Archipelago." Our Free World is hypocritical by exclusively focusing on the crimes of the Nazis when our own Eastern ally, the USSR, had a death industry of its own. Russia should shoulder Stalin's crimes in perpetuity.

The Katyn massacre should be remembered by all.
But this film is really, really bad.
The people who died deserved a much better film to be made.

@jetulik I have the DVD, its a good movie. I think, like you, it could have been a lot better. Of course when an American director does a make of Katyn, it will be praised as an 'work of art'. But we are seeing this through an eye of Polish directors and actors. I give it 3 Stars.

This film should have brought the Katyn massacre to the attention of the world in the same way Schindlers List brought the worlds attention to the Holocaust.
But this film is so bad it has been forgotten already. Very few people outside of Poland have seen it....and I have read many comments on IMDB from Polish people who are very angry also.......It is a waste and all those involved should be ashamed for wasting the opportunity to document the Katyn massacre through film.

Besides if Poland had worked with Germany I am sure they would have not murdered all poles. You would have gotten Smolensk back from the russians. Should have just made a deal with Germany,given Danzig back to them.
