  • "Hey doc!"

Priceless XD And apparently he can see through metal.

  • Thanks for this, it's a cool trick.

You should probably add a note that says if you miss the .01s delay on the SetParentMaintainOffset output, your "hat" will float around awkwardly in front of your NPC.

  • How do I parent somthing to a player? (when a button is clicked)

  • @themrfj I have tried to do that myself many times but the it don't work. parent the thing to a weapon instead

( when you pick it up it will parent to that person whos holding the weapon. but i only think it works in CS:S )

  • @bruge10 Sadly, I need to make it work in TF2 :(

  • @themrfj I used tf2 models for a short time, its all the same, I find the names of my attachments using model viewer then I use this same process in hammer. However, this all seems very limited because what if you want to parent something to an attachment that is a bone but is not itself an attachment? like feet or spine for example. I need help with this part.

  • @themrfj Um no actually I refer to the player as !player or player or !activator. Where player is universal, !player is just random and !activator is the activator of the action. So you could say on pressed set parent !player or

    !activator.

  • @CeilingPie I had tried that myself before but it don't seems to work :(

  • @bruge10 Hmm... thats odd... I remember doing it myself, if the object was physics, it had to be frozen before it was parented to the player. Also if the object is colliding with the player it should be nocollided or it'll block player movement.

  • @CeilingPie Oh.. yes made me remember that i made it work but the position of the prop wasn't right.

but maybe you CAN do it in Tf2, since the players can wear hats, then the player models should have some attachments... try find the names af the attachment, with model viewer.
