Harvey Comics/Harvey Toons--the REAL creators of Casper, since the 1950s--DISAGREE, since Wendy comes from THEM. Universal was being cheap-ass & didn't want to pay royalties to use ANOTHER character, so they made these other girls up, Kathleen "Kat" Harvey included.

Kat was created SOLELY for the 1995 film & its cartoon, wherein which she ENDED the relationship, because Amblin/Universal REFUSED to purchase the rights to Wendy (who IS Casper's girl in nearly ALL of the classic Casper canon) until this 1998 film, so Kat will NOT be mentioned again.

I liked the original, but this did have some good stuff with the posession bit. But I think it's really bad that pullman and rici are nowhere seen or even mentioned in the sequels. Casper gave up getting his life back for them. They should've stayed in his afterlife forever; never seperable. They owed him big time!!!!!! So all he gets is one dance then SEE YA! Whata Rip! Am I the only one that ever thought this way?

@WeirdsAGoodThing: The problem with the 1995 film, as good as it was, was that it doesn't follow the Harvey canon. In fact, Kat was originally slated to be Wendy, but Universal opted out and instead decided to make their own characters. In fact, the whole reason Casper is portrayed as an undead casanova would be due to Universal never interlocking the various films and giving Casper a new female foil each time, when in the Harvey canon, ONLY Wendy exists.

Who thumbed down my comment? Whilst it is true that the 1995 Casper film is a good film, it is not true to the original Casper comic canon. In the comics produced by Harvey since the 1950's (after Harvey had purchased the Casper property rights from Famous Studios), Cousin Spooky, his "goil" Pearl ("Poil"), ghost horse Nightmare, good witch Wendy, and Wendy's three hag aunts were introduced into the Casper canon & have remained there since.

Universal just wanted to make something up for themselves, hence WHY all the Casper films--including the 1998 one with his only TRUE girl, Wendy--have him being an undead flirt with his female co-stars, when in the Harvey canon, ONLY Wendy exists & is happy with her "boo".
