The only reason the XP computer took longer, was because it was an older computer. Upgrading to Vista is stupid, you are just paying for a GUI that you can get by using freeware in Windows XP...

It Doesnt have all the layers off AERO Rotating in 3D, I may be wrong, But if you Had the VISTA PREMIUM Edition, why did you NOT demonstate the Glass AERO Rotating??? otherwise you will NOT let people see the full VISTA Experience.! VISTA Basic Edition is a Complete waist of Money.! which, is the Edition I think you have.
i do agree, if you're happy with vista there's probably no reason to upgrade, unless you like to stay on the bleeding edge of tech. You'll get to skip over vista though if you're going to wait 3-5 years...the next version which is codenamed "Vienna" or "windows 7" will be out in 2009 ...lawl.

what kind of configuration? how much did you pay for yours? i ended up paying $880 at the time for 1gb of ram 1.66Ghz core duo processor 80gb hd and dvd burner...it was cheap for that kind of system last march when i got it, but probably expensive by today's standards
Cool i got one a few months ago. I got 1gb of ram 80gb HD and a Intel core 2 duo proccesor(2.00ghz) it cost me about $1,300. Also a 256mb graphics card w/ high def. sound and a wireless N card.
Im getting one with 1.6 ghz intel core 2duo, 80 gb, 256 ati video card, windows vista, tv tuner, 1 gb of ram, true life display, hd sound, and some other stuf for about 1,100
