Let me give you an example: I'm from Birmingham and the local paper is called the "Birmingham Mail" but for the first 25 years of my life it was called the "Evening Mail". At times I still call it the "Evening Mail" by mistake. Hansen called "black" coloured for years when it was then the standard, also deemed non offensive, form of describing a black person. Up the Villa!

oh please. he wasn't being racist. Racism is the use of a derogatory term for discrimination. The program was pre-recorded and could have been edited or removed IF it was deemed as being offensive. One thing to consider....in America where they take their racism very seriously, does it mean that the NAACP, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, will be changing their name. It appears perfectly acceptable when it suits. My verdict....NO GUILTY!

What really bugs me is the "coloured" language used by some contributors. Perhaps if YouTube could get hold of Virgin Media's new profanity-checking software we would see a few more f***s, c***s, s***s, b******s, b***s, and the like instead of what is so commonly used. To be fair to him, he inadvertently used a politically incorrect term. He wasn't trying to cause offence, if you listen to his words he was actually praising the influx of ethnic minorities and saying how the game has changed for the better. I really think a distinction needs to be drawn between malicious racism borne out of hatred, and political incorrectness borne out of obliviousness.

What Hansen should have said was

a white person is referred to as white, so a black person is referred to as black. saying 'Coloured' gives the idea that a person is a lesser person IMO.
