The kicker here is, people paid so much money to go to Kandee's seminar - yet all of her vids on here are free to watch lol. I have to admit, I learned more in 12 hours watching her videos as opposed to reading magazines, articles or other sources of info on how to do better makeup in years. Ofcourse people are disappointed rightfully so, but what could you have learned that she didn't already cover in her tutorials? I do agree she did scam people.

also, to be told that there were "trade secrets" not shared on you tube that would be special to the glaminar was another misconception. i was sorta stunned after the experience and felt like i had been given allot of sound and fury and left holding a crap bag with a brush i've never seen her use for make up application in a video.
i went to the toronto glaminar and i got a pencil brush in my goodie bag....that was it. the bag itself was horribly cheap and to be honest, considering imats was happening at the time, to hear that the "loot" we were supposed to get just couldn't get through, was bogus. what about your contacts at imats? ones she would use as a pro make up artist? couldn't they have given her stuff? or god forbid she purchase and put in the bag?? i was totally taken aback at the whole deal to be honest.
It is VERY unprofessional of her to compliment those who loved the glaminars, and to call the 2 unsatisfied customer 'Selfish and Materialistic'. There is no need for her to criticize them when they voiced valid points. What she should have done is a PROFESSIONAL is apologize for their dissapointment, take in their comments as constructive criticism and attempt to improve the gift bags the next time around OR be honest about the goody bags on youtube rather than glorify their content

The goodie bag had an OCD lip tar in green, which seems like an overstock product the company wanted to get rid of LOL. It also had 2 UD e/s (good), some samples that were smaller than what you get in a department store GWP. The pencil brush was a good goodie gift. A pink nail polish I could get at Walmart. Overall not bad, not great.
i just checked out one video of a girl who did get a goody bag(she is about 16teen&really grateful for the bag-though she says she got the one with the pink ribbon-less goodies on pink ribboned bags)there was nothing exciting on the bag.and pretty much just the free samples you get (in the USA)@a department store when you buy cosmetics,like ONE sample of a make up in those little aluminum bags.

First of all, people who are making excuses for Kandee by saying she doesn't have time to make a video (being a busy mom and all) to show her portfolio...this is excellent proof that it takes no more than 2 minutes to do just that. Hi, good video, I enjoy kandee's videos as well, however I'm disappointed to hear people were displeased with the glaminars (for the customer's sake mainly).
Just a question, I understand the goodie bags weren't the main disappointment for you personally, but for interest's sake what did they include?

Funny to find this, I attended her Miami Glaminar- it started an hour and 15 min late in the morning (supposedly the hotel's fault) and then 30 minutes late in the afternoon. Other girls agreed, it was more of a motivational-speaking type of deal rather than a makeup seminar. I love Kandee but I was so disappointed and embarassed that I spent so much money on that when I could have put it toward a real makeup class. Glad people aren't afraid to speak out about it.
You don't have to attend Glaminars, just go trough her videos and you'll find what you need. Kandee isn't in the best place of her life ( for long time now ). I have no intention bashing her or anything similar, but she ought to find professional help. I wish her the best but things she is doing are just putting her down. It is never worthy being honest with Kandee. She is gonna block you and call you negative all though, you are probably rare honest person with her.
I love watching youtube videos. And as much as I like watching some of the makeup gurus, I WILL NOT pay to go see any of them. They already get enough for making the videos. They get free stuff & they probably get paid with youtubes partnership program.

She has way better information than some makeup artist do (cough cough bobbi brown) I'm glad you aren't like giving up on her because she had a little trouble getting through her first glaminar. and her tips helped me get my makeup career on its feet, I will always love her for that.
who says you who attended dont have a right to complain and voice an opinion, its not like Kandde robbed you guys of that. Her letter sounded very sweet and genuine, because thats what she is, honest and sweet lady. She didn't scam people of their money, she was finding a way to give back to her fans, by setting all of these up, imagine all the time and money SHE put into it, renting out a booth there probably wasn't cheap and all the hours of setting everything up.

Hi, Haddarah...from what I've heard from other gurus, Kandee is a LOVELY person, but is def. lacking in skill/talent. She doesn't even talk about something so important --taking care of skin, and different types of skin.
So yeah, I feel as if her skill is a bit lacking especially for the price of her classes.
Kandee has the ability and the connections to get many free items for the goodie bags...it is such a shame she tries to sell her glaminars by advertising such great goodie bags .... The classes are not cheap in anyway!!! They deserve to ge alot of stuff in return.t

Next time someone wants to complain about something they got for free, watch this video first. It might save you from making an ass out of yourself. I'm kind of surprised that Kandee's response was so snarky and rude. As a professional offering a service(Glaminars), inevitably she's going to get an unhappy customer. The best way to deal with this would be to address them personally and with grace and professionalism. Publicly calling your customers who payed good money to see you 'ungrateful and selfish' is inappropriate. I noticed though that Kandee has a hard time taking criticism, constructive or otherwise.

@QueenOfRussia I love Kandee Johnson's Channel as I think she is very very talented. I have learned far more from her than from anyone else. Having said that, I was very disappointed in her for airing her past marriages, given that her children are so young and will probably see them when they grow up. It's just something I would never do esp if my children are so young.

i went to the toronto glaminar and i got a pencil brush in my goodie bag....that was it. the bag itself was horribly cheap and to be honest, considering imats was happening at the time, to hear that the "loot" we were supposed to get just couldn't get through, was bogus. what about your contacts at imats? ones she would use as a pro make up artist? couldn't they have given her stuff? or god forbid she purchase and put in the bag?? i was totally taken aback at the whole deal to be honest.

It is VERY unprofessional of her to compliment those who loved the glaminars, and to call the 2 unsatisfied customer 'Selfish and Materialistic'. There is no need for her to criticize them when they voiced valid points. What she should have done is a PROFESSIONAL is apologize for their dissapointment, take in their comments as constructive criticism and attempt to improve the gift bags the next time around OR be honest about the goody bags on youtube rather than glorify their content

The goodie bag had an OCD lip tar in green, which seems like an overstock product the company wanted to get rid of LOL. It also had 2 UD e/s (good), some samples that were smaller than what you get in a department store GWP. The pencil brush was a good goodie gift. A pink nail polish I could get at Walmart. Overall not bad, not great.

i just checked out one video of a girl who did get a goody bag(she is about 16teen&really grateful for the bag-though she says she got the one with the pink ribbon-less goodies on pink ribboned bags)there was nothing exciting on the bag.and pretty much just the free samples you get (in the USA)@a department store when you buy cosmetics,like ONE sample of a make up in those little aluminum bags.

Funny to find this, I attended her Miami Glaminar- it started an hour and 15 min late in the morning (supposedly the hotel's fault) and then 30 minutes late in the afternoon. Other girls agreed, it was more of a motivational-speaking type of deal rather than a makeup seminar. I love Kandee but I was so disappointed and embarassed that I spent so much money on that when I could have put it toward a real makeup class. Glad people aren't afraid to speak out about it.

You don't have to attend Glaminars, just go trough her videos and you'll find what you need. Kandee isn't in the best place of her life ( for long time now ). I have no intention bashing her or anything similar, but she ought to find professional help. I wish her the best but things she is doing are just putting her down. It is never worthy being honest with Kandee. She is gonna block you and call you negative all though, you are probably rare honest person with her.

If you are stupid enough to pay $595 will the main intent to get free products then you should have saved your tuition and bought what products you wanted. Goodie bags are always an "added bonus" for any event and attendees should be greatful for receving anything, If you read the glaminar.com site you will see that this is an educational event with no mention of goodie bags.

There is always gonna be someone who is unsatisfied with what u are selling/doing. But if this was (and I am pretty sure u said this) her first one, I would hope people wouldn't make a decsion on whether to attend one of these on these comments. You are totally right if u pay for it u can be dissatisfied but I would think that these Glaminars are more for beginners (which I'm taking it by your portfolio u are def not) and for people who like u just want to meet her.

Her letter sounded very sweet and genuine, because thats what she is, honest and sweet lady. She didn't scam people of their money, she was finding a way to give back to her fans, by setting all of these up, imagine all the time and money SHE put into it, renting out a booth there probably wasn't cheap and all the hours of setting everything up.

Hi, Haddarah...from what I've heard from other gurus, Kandee is a LOVELY person, but is def. lacking in skill/talent. She doesn't even talk about something so important --taking care of skin, and different types of skin.
So yeah, I feel as if her skill is a bit lacking especially for the price of her classes.

I'm kind of surprised that Kandee's response was so snarky and rude. As a professional offering a service(Glaminars), inevitably she's going to get an unhappy customer. The best way to deal with this would be to address them personally and with grace and professionalism. Publicly calling your customers who payed good money to see you 'ungrateful and selfish' is inappropriate. I noticed though that Kandee has a hard time taking criticism, constructive or otherwise.

I like Kandee but you know what? I like that you are honest and express your dissatisfaction..I think you remained dipolmatic and it was a fair critique. you were not nasty in any way. I can only imagine traveling as far as you have to receive invaluable information regarding makeup to only be left unfulfilled. You may have been left with more questions than answers, which is very frustrating! I may not be able to empathize but I can definitely sympathize!

i went purely to meet kandee whilst was in LA, i simply made this video on the back of a couple of emails i received from other dissatisfied attendee;s, that were ridiculed for !! I am simply stating facts that one should never overpromise wether you are just starting out or not !!!

@QueenOfRussia I love Kandee Johnson's Channel as I think she is very very talented. I have learned far more from her than from anyone else. Having said that, I was very disappointed in her for airing her past marriages, given that her children are so young and will probably see them when they grow up. It's just something I would never do esp if my children are so young.

You are not a beginner nor a student.....I can see why You would be disappointed in a beginners class.....Kandee gears her classes to New and aspiring make up artists.... It's not meant for the Master Make up artists. Maybe you should suggest a Master Class.
