acutally when you have recorded hot or clipped the dbx is suppose to function better because thats when all the hissing, ect. takes effect most of the time.

i agree it does kill your highs it almost sounds muffled, but overall is killer
The dbx is working incorrectly because your levels are too high. You should have your signals peak around -3db so that the noise reduction works.
