thats such a nice strat! im looking for one exactly like it right now. im trying used music shops, and ive found some, but none in my price range. i just want a guitar like jimi's!!!
Learning how to play guitar is all about persisting, man. Not for those who are out for quick results. But for those who persist, it is a very rewarding instrument.
from Hendrix's rather generous personality as evidenced in his interviews, it's pretty obvious he'd be gratified to have made songs that lived on in people's imaginations, and were played for enjoyment - but he also wanted to see other people develop their own styles, their own music -- and I guess that's what you've done, playing Jimi's songs with your own style, your own feel, and sound - ha, if you were in the DC area I'd pay down the bass track for you, all those thunderous bass lines - :-)
That's what I intend to do, yes...after learning Jimi's style do his songs and other selected ones and do them in such a way that they would be similar with what would come if he would have lived and do this song.
If you got a drummer handy we could work something out, man....I would LOVE to do Red House in a very slow version like on the live versions and Are You Experienced....Oh, and Voodoo Child (the blues version...)
Hmmm - maybe I could record a bass track and send it - don't have the right stuff to record tho - might be fun to try anyway - I'll keep you posted. My next-door neighbor is in a band, his friends from high school, and has a bunch of equipment in his basement for when they get together and play -- hmmm.....
nice heart-felt rendition - if I might suggest, work on those riffs, hit them clean and fast - one thing Hendrix could do is take the guitar effects into the stratosphere, leave the beat behind, and then the next instant nail the basic blues riff right on time - bam! But your rendition is certainly exciting and fun to listen to - keep it up! (certainly you're totally better than me on guitar, I play bass) :) jam on, Henny! Hmm, you should get some guys to jam with & post that: more fun -
Are you comparing me to with Jimi ? Man, I am not even worthy to polish his shoes if there ever would be (have been) a chance...but you can't a guy for tryin' anyway.
I'm very aware that learning how to play guitar is a never ending process and I am working on it !

Awesome. I wish I could play guitar like that. I'm bad at playing guitar but I still try even though I only know one or two chords.

I'm afraid that the wah in this version was pretty weak, especially in the intro.
