This is fuxing brilliant dood. You need to find a way to make more and get them out on the air, or at least a website, something. I would totally watch this.
I'm impressed. I wish I could do something like that, but then again what good would it do any of us to come up with something that good (and it was very good) only to have it shot down in light of someone with more pull. Life bit you in the ass on that one, dude. Sorry to hear you got rejected. I liked it.
i think this wouldve been better than 'studio 60' but not as good as '30 rock'. maybe it was the voiceover that did it in, it was a little too much like 'stand by me' in that sense. not that any of this matters now, but i thought i'd give my thoughts anyway.
you could still do something like this but make it about a sitcom. i dont think thats been played with yet. or maybe even soap operas? that might even be more fun. just a thought.
Thanks, Mikey, for the kind words. Yeah, it WAS an original concept...for about 2 weeks three years ago. Anyway...shot this, in a rush, on digital with a Canon GL-1 and minimal lighting kit.
If NBC wanted "Studio 60" AND a half-hour comedy of the same concept, they should have gone with THIS rather than that consistently unfunny drone who had a heavy hand in screwing up SNL (yet again), Tina Fey.

Hey, Excellent job all round! You've got a (then) original concept, fantastic, memorable characters, and a keen eye for both CMT and editing...
What did you shoot this on? Film or DV?

Thanks for the kind words, dude! I'm just sorry I didn't get the chance to get MY version on TV. Ah, well...it was a blast to shoot. -LM

This is the most original comedy I think I've ever seen. It's like moch-reality television.
