a man who could sit down an comes up with songs like Folsom Prison Blues- Man In Black - The Man Comes Around - San Quinten - Give My Love To Rose - Don't Take Your Guns To Town - Oh What A Good Thing We Had - Big River - Drive On - Tear Stained Letter - I Walk The Line - 'Ragged Old Flag" - Understand Your Man - Cry Cry Cry - Comitted To Parkview - Get Ryhthum - Flesh & Blood - This Town - You Remembered Me" - Casey Jones - "I Still Miss Someone" etc etc .. never needed to do cover versions

You're welcome! An album only with covers? I don't think so, Johnny wrote so many songs that on every album there are also originals.

theres an album called "the storyteller." every song is great, rare album tho. 1-the baron. 2-a boy named sue. 3-ballad of ira hayes. 4-highway patrolman. 5-the diplomat. 6-no charge. 7-john's. 8-to beat the devil. 9- the last gunfighter ballad. 10-dont take your guns to town. 11-the cowboy who started the fight. 12- the gambler. 13-the reverend mr black. 14- all around cowboy. 15-ghost riders in the sky. 16-whos gene autry?. listen to any one of these songs and i guarentee you'll enjoy it. :)

@shane013088 thanks. I have found a number of those, plus some other "different tracks" (i.e. ones that don't appear on every Cash "best of") on the Johnny Cash Icons 4CD - well worth a listening to and adding to your collection!
