  • Thus reminds me a lot of Super Aleste on SNES. I

  • still great!

  • Other than the Title Screen, I don't see a difference between this or Blazing Lazers.

  • one of the cutting age shooting game of all time! not many shooting game nowadays and the none got the similar power up system! the secret 8 way can even combine with weapon VI. really one classic!!!

  • the third is my favourite level !!!

  • this game is very good and very easy

  • ホントだ「オッパイパイ」て言ってる

  • この動画面白いですね このゲームやってみたくなりました。

  • Wow, absolutely NO SLOWDOWN while you're playing this game, unlike other shooting games of that time.

  • I used to love these types of games ever since Abadox and Captain Skyhawk... old enough to remember my mind being blown by Starfox on SNES and saying "it'll never get cooler" damn I was wrong! I loved this game used to play it all the time, not my fave of it's kind...

  • cool vid!, I have this game but my PC Engine isn't modded for TV use yet :( Can you get this on any compilations at all? or downloads?

  • Beat it, loved it.

  • GunHed is way cool than the American verion

  • Hm. The music sounds familiar.

  • The bosses are too easy? Well, here's an extra challenge... on the odd-numbered levels, DON'T shoot the bosses. They will launch a barrage of progressively harder-to-avoid attacks, then they'll eventually give up and leave, yielding a crapload of extra lives, extra bombs, and bonus points.

  • @DrLove0378

Both the mid-bosses AND the end-bosses?

  • @RocMegamanX Just the end bosses of the odd-numbered stages, I believe.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that there's a live-action movie based off the manga.

  • yup.. I think the game might be loosely based off it.. and i do mean loosely...

  • @DigiHatesMakingNames well, they did manage to keep the gunhed itself the same way as in the movie and manga

  • @NinjaGhostScorpion I don't know what the hell a "manga" is or how much it weighs, but I do know that GunHed is a Toho monster (well, "robot" monsters) movie that they did based off the runner-up entry for the Godzilla 2 story contest.

It was going to be Godzilla fighting a evil supercomputer and it's robot minions, but they (wisely) went with Biollante instead.

I also didn't know there was a game, especially not one that looks so fun.

  • @egdeltur666 Manga is a Japanese comic book.

  • @egdeltur666 mangas are jap comics/graphic novels draw in anime style.

  • i need this game

    it is like

    Super Aleste (Space Megaforce)

    aaaah same company

    toho

  • haha i got blazing lazers(gunhed) on hucard lol.. i love my turbogrfx

  • The sound of the pillars crumbling in stage 3 sure gives me a taste for microwave popcorn..

  • 6!!!!

  • The songs of this game rocks, I wish they had the soundtrack.

  • I'd seriously hope for some arrangements if that happened... I can't imagine listening to those bleepy sounds through a hi-fi for long.

  • This was the first game I got with my Turbo besides Keith Courage. I played it on the Wii and on the Turbo to compare, and it seems the Wii cuts the voices short and the voices sound lower compared to the original Turbo/PC-engine. But I remember being amazed at hearing voices and the music of the Spider Boss.

  • Homing missiles. It's all about the homing missiles.

  • I keep dying in Area 9. I tried to pass this game ever since i got it on August 2007. Does anyone know what to do in Area 9 or give me some tips? Serously there all kinds of fags coming at me even with my best weapon type 2 to maximum i still die.

  • lol i beat this game one morning b4 school in 8th grade.. good times

  • can uu give me some tips or somethinng how to pass area 9? i given up playing da game a long time ago.

  • shit bro if i knew id tell you.. i havnt played this game in ages.. just get better at dodging..

  • Don't die. Collect as many men as you can, so you can start where you left off if you die towords the end without going back to the quater of the level.

  • I love this game and your skills rule thanx 4 uploading :)

  • Wii compeating with Xbox 360? 360 is getting old games too as downloads.

  • i have this game but known as blazing lazers not on the turbografx-16 but on my wii!! downloaded from the wii's virtual console from around 600 to 800 points. this game is awsome even though i never heard of it before till now.

  • Excellent game, but too easy with the right stuff ( III + F ).

  • Have you beaten this on the hidden God of Game difficulty setting?

  • This plane appears to actually be a Transformer. Gotta love the voice acting. I like easy bosses. Wow...Gunhed/Blazing Lazers has given us some unforgettable anatomy (with the beautiful epithelial tissue, of course...could possibly be some connective tissue proper present, also). Gunhed, also known as Blazing Lazers, is a well done game, indeed.

  • man you brought back a LOT of memories with this. thanks. can't believe i watched it all the way.

  • Wow, this is a really excellent Compile shooter. Good graphics, good sound... and Compile shooters like Gunhed, Guardian Legend, Super Aleste, etc., did have a tendency to be generous when it came to powerups.

  • Reminds me of Soldier Blade.

  • GJ!

  • The one thing I do like about this vid is that you captured the voice samples perfectly. This game is really cool and definitely up there with the other PC-Engine shumps. Odd how it does seem a bit easy at times, but it does pump up the difficulty later on. If this comes out on the Virtual Console, I'm so going to download it.

  • Actually, it is available on the Wii Virtual Console. I looked it up on Wikipedia and the game was released for the VC on May 21st.

  • Gotta agree, boilerplate!!! ^-^=b !

You know, DigiHatesMakingNames, it is QUITE an awesome pleasure for you to put this video up there because I used to play Blazing Lazers a whole rather lot, and OUTSTANDING music, gameplay, and fun even when this first came out in 1989 as a Turbochip game!!!

Impressive vid, my excellent man!!! :D !

  • Compile's vertical shooters are my absolute favorites. So far I own Zanac, Gun-Nac, Guardian Legend, Musha Aleste, Robo Aleste, and the Japanese version of Super Aleste. This would be one of my first picks if a get a PC Engine.

  • One of the myriad of great shooters for the PCE/TG16. By far my favorite system, and Blazing Lazers is one of my favorite Shmups. Good job!!

  • So this is the import name for Blazing Lazers? Some of the sound is still good concidering its age, in particular the Stage Clear track. This version seems a little more beefed up from the US version in terms of weapons or either in Blazing, I didn't use some of the others correctly I guess.
