I just inherited my late brother's record collection....he was a huge Hank snow fan (so am I)..the collection contained every Hank record my brother could buy....and there is a lot of them!
these oldies country music is the real original country music. Most of today's country really digusting and sucks and it's even does't sound country music.
@MaliBoom2x you are 100% right.........right on the button.......good for you for recognising this......these days unless they go on you tube they don'tknow what country music is all about
@joeasmythe Do you have a clue what you're talking about? What does Larry Gatlin or Trace Adkins have to do with country music in the 50's? What do they have to do with country in any decade? There shit POP singers.
Thanks for this compilation. There were a number of songs that this old 70s geezer had never heard before, and the playlist was heavily weighted by the 'Hanks.' But a fun 10 minutes!
All of the these songs are so much better than todays country music. Marty robbins Hank snow Hank Thompson Hank Williams and Norma Jean. Oh well it is foolish to mention names there were so many greats. You always leave out some of the best in the 40s and 50s
them weirdos today have holes in their jeans, have earrings and some of em have that ole hippie style long hair. that keith urban boy, i think thats his name, i laugh everytime i see him on tv. not country, just bad rock n roll is what he plays
The reality is that each generation has their unique taste. It is an example of a generation gap that the fans of 1950-1960's country songs have a different outlook and taste from fans of another decade. It is just life everywhere. Fans of Frank Sinatra's era would not like Elvis style. And nowadays fans feel Elvis's voice and style is out of date. After enjoying singers like Hank William etc of our time, we should let the next generation to have their creativity and new style.
@hkuprobity2 that would be the case for almost all generations, but now it seems it's all about profit for the music industry... all music is pretty much at an all time low, including hip hop, country, pop music, R &B etc.

@hkuprobity2 nothing u said made any sense the people who liked sinatra liked elvis, hence people having album collections once again a perosn like u doenst knwo what the fuck they are talkign about have done no investigation just pretend and make up bullshit of the top ur weak little head without any serious contemplation of anything....ever heard of a variety show....and this "generation" bullshit is absurd more like degeneration and rot there is no msuic today just porn set to shitty sounds
yes thats so true i cant stand rap hip hip hell enven new contry is starting to suck now this is whear its at it will never die as long as its in our harts
There were some very good country songs in the olden days. Most of today's Country really sucks. I don't understand why people of today like Brad Paisley,McGraw, and most male singers of today.
@vaughnrock Most of todays singers are about as lousy as the most of the old singers. The best of the past is what we remember. Its no surprise that the best of yesterday is better than most singers today. ("Better than most" is almost the definition of "best")
What we think of as "the past" is really "the past, minus the not so good stuff that we forget".
@mikerickson01 those who sucked in the past are 100 times better and more talented than today the singers were singers not imbeciles who cant carry a tune have no hamrony or rythm just bombastic turds with phony horrible "styles" of msuic and dress and arent any good
@rockabillycat1954 I sure got to go along with that but my favorites were on the West Coat. Tex Ritter, Williams, Gene Autry...and then there were the great pickers of all time. Merle and Joe....... Thanks for saying that.
every from this time who was a singer could actually......SING!!! now people rely on technology to do that for them, cuz yea trust me they do not deliver the same voice in concert as they do on their CD its cuz they suck, these guys could deliver the same sound no matter what.....

I remember when the "Hanks", Williams, Snow, and Thompson pretty much dominated the country music airwaves. Was some great music they made indeed.

Great stuff! The 40's through the mid 60's were the best time for country... so many classics. Glad to see so many of these fairly obscure songs.
