@sweetievee83 Thank you for your comment and your interest in my video. Max (the Bengal in the video) is a Marbled Bengal. There are two types of patterns on Bengals, Spotted & Marbled. There can also be pure black and white Bengals that are quite rare. I would say that Spotted Bengals are much more common, hence seeing more videos of them and not many Marbled.
What state do you live in exactly? I have always wanted to own a Bengal but I dont think the state I live in allows them, im willing to go to a different country to get my dream cat! :D
@sclapione Yes. Its because some states or countries find they are too wild to be owned as a pet. Since they are a breed that originated from a bengal tiger and another big cat.
stunningly beautiful Bengal... I envy you. Does the kitty get vocal ? and where does the cat take the scrubby ? hehe so cute. thank you for posting it

@MrsJelly Technically most places recognize cats as DSH and DLH only. For example, my cat is a Maine Coon, but at the vet is only recognized as a DLH cat. Just because of the diversity and the fact that it's easy to have an impure cat breed, they simplify all cats to those two.
@soulofpurpose LOL... your CFA may be old and established but they're 40 years behind the times in matters of Hybrids and other new breeds. @sootikins All cats are categorized under DSH and DLH. Every breed, or mixed cat ever out there will be classified as a short hair or long hair cat. That's just the way it will be.
@DarlingDareI An ASH (American Shorthair) is what "soulofpurpose" said, not a DSH. I agree DSH is a generic classification. ASH is not. ASH is a specific breed. ASH are a subset of DSH, or IOW all ASH are DSH ... but not all DSH are ASH.

@sootikins Sorry about the American Shorthaired thing, I just figured it was the american equivalent? Haha. But a vet would still call it a DSH in their records. They just would. @sootikins Well to be fair I am speaking from my Canadian perspective, and only from the knowledge I have of the clinics here in my city. When I did a co-op at a vet here they only would allow me to mark a cat as SH or LH cats for convenience. It might be a little more important for the distinction in the US, or even other parts of my province or Canada.
@DarlingDareI BTW while we're talking shorthairs, there's also BSH - British Shorthair, which has a very different shaped head than ASH. Check out TICA dot ORG for some good pix of ASH vs BSH vs Bengal sometime.
@sootikins Can I please laugh my arse off at the BSH? I can't wait til I can have my own place and get the money together for a Bengal... I've wanted one for years.

@animalsshouldlive Do some research before blurting shit out. Tabby is a pattern, not a breed. All Bengals' markings are modified tabby patterns. Many (such as my male) are spotted, yet they are still a type of tabby. Also many Bengals (such as my 2 females and the cat in this vid) are marbled. Marbled Bengals are less common but still very much Bengals - and fully qualified to show. Don't take my word - visit TICA.org and read the breed standard yourself.
thief is such a weighted term because its only meant to apply to people, and people in western societies have a concrete, absolute view of ownership that some other cultures, and surely most animals, do not share. i would not call your cat a thief, for it implies that it took what wasnt his in an unwelcome manner and did so knowingly
Thanks MrsJelly for this wonderful upload of a rare silver Bengal. And YES, it's a Bengal to the doubters. I have a Bengal with the common Bengal color, but the same style Markings as your kitty! Bengals are clowns. I love every minute of having my cat around! :)
My Bengal, Muffin, just gave birth to a litter of Bengal-Van kittens! They're a strange mix... very fuzzy and one even looks straight-up Turkish Van. I'm only going to keep one though. Their names are Kit-Kat, Choco, Sam, Boo (Boo is the Van-looking one, so his name makes sense like he's shocking compared to his littermates), Tigger, and Num Nums. I'm keeping Kit-Kat! She's soooo cute!
my bengal took my pencils, some drink mixes, a business card, and money and put it in his litterbox. our siamese wasnt too happy that their litter was filled with trinkets from around the house
i think these two kittens i found might be part bengal. they have stolen my sisters make up while she was putting it on, my dad's wallet, watch, sunglasses, the train thing from the bath tub, and my keys. and they always take them to the basement!
Absolutely GORGEOUS markings.. I Iike all the patterns but this is SO distinctive! I have only seen a live one ONCE, but have always said, IF I won the lottery, I'd get one.

aww hes cute. i have a part persian cat and something else and she steals everythinggg and puts it under MY bed -.- the tub stopper, thing to hold the door open
HILARIOUS!!! I have a blue marbled - love of my life! I love his energy and his wild streak. He loves to take a shower with me and when I take a bubble bath he tries to jump in. I had to tighten the faucet heads because he took to turning them on - only for me to come home and find a flood in the bathroom andkitchen...he's a trip!
There was once a cat alive that would steal the neighbors garden gloves, and so the owner hung them all up on the clothesline and placed a sign under it that said,"If these are yours, please take them. My cat is a glove thief." She had quite a collection XD
Lol our little boy loved stealing our lighters and pens so it sucked everytime we come home from work there be no lighters left and he would stash it behind the couch lol

Bengals generally have more spots(rosettes) and more brown/tan. In order to be a Bengal, a cat needs to have genes from an Asian Leopard Cat. Your cat looks like a marble tabby coated regular cat. Such patterns are common in oriental shorthairs. I know because I had one at one time.
Bengals often have marble tabby coated regular cat ancestors. Unless you paid over five hundred dollars for that cat, it isn't a Bengal. There are also dishonest and confused sellers out there.
He is a registered Bengal cat with the GCCF also on the active register. Yes we paid over that amount for them. You had 1 one time, we are registered breeders.
Indeed, he is a Silver Marbled Bengal. Silver Bengals are not really common, also at cat shows Silver isnt classed as an official class YET!(they are working on that to change) but they still allow Silvers to compete in there own none official class. (basically they cant win BOB = best of breed). Bengals come in Marbled & Rosetted (spots).
@emawerna You have no idea what you are talking about, Emawerna, or else you are blind. One look at this cat is enough to recognize it as a marbled bengal. If you want to learn something, Google up "SGC Stageone Sandstorm of Desertstar" (SGC = Supreme Grand Champion) to see just one of many TICA-registered bengals that look almost identical to the cat in the video. If Sandstorm is a "marble tabby coated regular cat" then there are a whole lot of very confused show judges out there.
@emawerna Go and research the different types of Bengals before you come on here pontificating and making an utter ass of yourself. I have a blue-eyed snow spotted (Lynx-point) Bengal that doesn't fall remotely into your categorisation. In addition, rosetted and spotted are two DIFFERENT types.
However, much more than that; any Bengal owner could tell a Bengal by its body shape, head shape and behaviour.
That is most certainly a Bengal, and you are most certainly an idiot - or a troll.
Thanks :) He is rather sexy. I love people like you who look in shelters to try and re-home a Bengal not just buy a kitten because its cute. Super kudos :)
I'm hoping to get a Bengal from my local shelter too, but I don't think it'll happen anytime soon. MrsJelly, how do older Bengal cats get along with regular housecats that are around 10 years old? I'm thinking if I can get my two cats to like a new one, they might become more active. They're really bored, and won't even play with their peacock feathers anymore.
Well it all depends on how your current cats temperaments are to if they will accept a new cat into the house or not.
But Bengals are normally very active cats (if their not, theres something wrong with it lol) So getting a Bengal to activate your current cats might work but also might cause alot of upset and fighting, theres no telling really :)
I am sorry to send this comment to you,but it has been circulating in youtube for a long time. Agreed that Bengals are theifs. Mine steals lipsticks, jewelery, pens etc from handbags. Embarrasing when you find visitors personal things. They have a mind of their own. Forget the Christmas Tree it's all theirs.

We would get our cats catnip for Christmas. We'd wrap it and put it under the tree but on Christmas morning wrapping paper and catnip would be all over the floor :P. It was pretty funny though.
@caleacat I, too have two Bengals. A male spotted and my little girl is a marbled. Both are funny, funny
cats. At first, we could not figure out how something of ours (rosery's, etc) were moved from Point A to a Point B spot. Out Tonkenese, Charlie is too much of a gentleman to steal, so we were on the lookout for the thief. Aha, we found the stinker. It is our 3 yr old Brown spotted male and he is rather good at hiding the objects. We never know when he is going to strike.

@emawerna Sorry, I must disagree. This Bengal looks like and is marked like other Bengals. I am just saying----

@emawerna Just like everyone else said, you are wrong. Just wanted to reiterate that.

That is most certainly a Bengal, and you are most certainly an idiot - or a troll.

bengals are straight theeeifs, i named ours Bandito, anytime you leave food anywhere he tries to steal it, plus he plays fetch which is crazy.

JasonLGrey 2 years ago
Well it all depends on how your current cats temperaments are to if they will accept a new cat into the house or not.
But Bengals are normally very active cats (if their not, theres something wrong with it lol) So getting a Bengal to activate your current cats might work but also might cause alot of upset and fighting, theres no telling really :)

I am sorry to send this comment to you,but it has been circulating in youtube for a long time. When it was received 1 month ago by a man named Grayson, he ignores it, and dies when his house collapses on him.2 weeks ago, someone named Harvey receives it,but he ignores this comment and was killed by a bullet. 10 days ago, a woman named Fifi reads it,and she dies in a car accident. You must now post this comment on 15 other videos, or else soon you will meet with a horrible death.Swear its true

Agreed that Bengals are theifs. Mine steals lipsticks, jewelery, pens etc from handbags. Embarrasing when you find visitors personal things. They have a mind of their own. Forget the Christmas Tree it's all theirs.

Yeah, we cant have a Christmas Tree. The cats will have it :P - So no decorations for us :P
MrsJelly 3 years ago
