  • Im sorry but this is much better than World of Color, its just the perfect size with literally no crowds(compared to WOC) I have seen this 3 times, 1999, 2001, and 2004. Hopefully they bring it back as it was the fountain that started gigs like Fantasmic, Fountain of Nations, Illuminations, and most recently World of Color.

  • this is the longest scene for Alice in almost any parade/show.

  • It's world of color's elderly father

  • I used to love to go this when I was little.. I loved the koi pond and the little shops behind the hotel.. Sometimes the simple things make the best memories!!

    Thanks for posting this!!

  • I remember this as a teen. People making stupid comments have got to remember that for the 70's and 80's this was fairly advanced...

  • I remember going to go watch this many times with my family as a youngster and it's sad to hear that is was discontinued. I'm glad that DCA now has World of Color and hope to someday soon return the favor and take my parents to watch World of Color, like they used to take me to watch this. Thank you for posting this video, it brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. :]

  • Thanks for this video, wow brings good memories when me and my fam went to go to disneyland hotel on the weekend just to walk around go under the waterfalls, and of course this. Good times, glad i got to enjoy the old style hotel grounds before it was radically changed.

  • I remember 10 yrs ago going to disneyland with my aunt, and we stayed there at the hotel, and one of the nights, I went downstairs and saw this, and stood there mesmorized by it. That's sad that they stopped doing it, because that was awesome!

  • I'm sorry, but this video makes me wanna pee.....lol.

  • I think this was an idea for the new show in California Adventure, World of Colors.

  • at 11:17, my favorite!!

  • This is World of Color's Grandpa

  • @MegaMangoJuice lol more like great grandpa xD

  • Growing up near the Disneyland Hotel, we often heard the music from the Dancing Waters shows in from our backyard.

  • When I last saw this, both Captain Eo and the Electric Parade, which this soon to be defunct attraction paid tribute to, were themselves defunct attractions. Now the Electric Parade is at DCA, and Captain Eo is returning soon. Is it too much to hope that this might also return in some form?

There was a similar dancing water show at Magic Mountain in the 1970s, only without the light wall and the Disney music. When Six Flags took over, they turned it into a big planter full of half-dead flowers.

  • 11:17 is captain eo?

  • 11:17 was my favorite part as a kid!

  • Love it. Saw this many times when I was a kid.. even before they added the light show behind it. When I was a teenager I took dates there, because, well, it was free and fun. Thanks for the memories.

  • aww i miss this. i used to watch this every year when my family would stay there.

  • Oh I rember this I saw this show when I was 6, they got rid of it? o.O that sucks.

  • There's no school like old school. This was a great show. And best of all.....free.

  • Rest in peace, Captain EO.

  • @BlasphemousApples

Captain EO is now back at Disneyland. They brought it back a few months ago after Michael Jackson died.

  • that is sick

  • and now the "fountain" sits there, full of water, and abandoned. It's very eerie later in the evening, walking past it!

  • I remember this well. Also, at Christmas time they did the a show to Christmas carols. Was just there last month and the setting is still there, but stained and still.

  • thnxz 4 the vidz!!

  • Was a free show at the hotel. My parents used to go there for "dinner and a show". Eat in one of the hotel restaurants and watch the water show after. Then the fireworks over the park.

Sometimes I went with them. Good times from a simpler era.

This show is the direct technological ancestor of the show at the Belagio in Las Vegas

  • How old school.

  • The michael jackson part was Awesome! CAPTAIN EO

  • I think they are goin to put it back at California Adventure side since they are putting new stuff in it. plus they did sya they are goin to replace the lagoon for a water show spectacular.

  • Very first time seeing this show was right here I wish Disney would bring it back what I seen is a alsome show

  • I think someone should recreate Fantasy Waters using a few million bottles of Diet Coke and some Mentos.

  • lol

  • you think they closed it because of the michal jackson part??

  • It closed because lack of maintenance, as it was left to sit and slowly die.

  • either that, or people stopped watching it

  • How primitive. Can't wait for World Of Color.

  • When did they stop doing this?

  • in 2004.

  • I heard the ending so they must have changed the name somewhere along the line.

  • Actually if I recall correctly this was called "The Dancing Waters" not fantasy waters unless they changed it later.

    PCS

  • It was changed to Fantasy Waters in 1991.

  • It would be even better if they put in fireworks when it is a dca

  • why did they ever get rid of this. I used to love it

  • omg thx for the vid... .so much memories... i just wanted to watch the disney theme song lol.... forgot how it looked like.

  • I remember this. Wasn't it early 90s?

  • i cant believe they took it out lol

  • SWEET! I used to love watching this as a kid... I went back to the hotel about a year ago and was so bummed when I saw they took it out! Thank you!!!

  • ya, whatever dude... lets see you program a show.

  • I cried.

  • aw that was sad naughtylilducky.. but at least u'v watched it in person while i can only watch it here.. thanks for loading this here in you tube!!! more power to YOU TUBE!!

  • How can a water show NOT be family friendly?? xDD

  • I reember this way back when, before these types of things were popular. (I think WetDesign, Sun Valley, CA did this) Sometimes we'd even leave Disneyland and take the monterail over just to watch this. Quite delightful. Thanks so much for putting this vid up!

  • This show was done by Waltzing Waters inc. Wet Design however is installing the new show in DCA's lagoon.

  • DisneyDude: I sit corrected. WET did the leap frog fountain in DinseyWorld.

  • bellagio's fountains in miniature

  • As silly as it may sound, this made me tear up... my mother was a young single mom and she couldn't afford much, but she used to bundle me up and take me to watch this when I was little... because it was free. I miss being little.

  • soo true time flys thanks memories last 4ever my dad used to put me on his sholders i loved going as a kid

  • @naughtylilducky I can totally relate. My mom was a single mother too, and yet took me to disneyland all the time, and this was one of my favorite things there by far.

  • people pay to watch this?

  • This was at the hotel and therefore free. - - RU

  • This was possibly the first Disney venture into synchronized water display. The earlier version was done to the music of Barry White's "Loves theme". At the time it was quite impressive, although World of Color is this times one thousand!

It is sad to think back to the earlier Disneyland shows and attractions that have been taken out of service. But...Captain EO is back with a new twist. It is 3-D with a fourth dimension. The room moves! Some thought it was an earthquake!

  • haha omg ! i remeber my parents taking me to this wen i was little, aww good times ! =DDD

  • Oh, wow! I didn't think anyone remembered this! I never thought I'd see this attraction again! This was bloody awesome! Wonderful video!!

  • Cool. I remember watching this all the time in the summer 10 years ago. Thanks for the Memories.

  • You have so many recordings...do you happen to have one of the original Electrical Parade?

  • OH my god.

i remember going to the Disneyland Hotel and watching this water show when i was 3!!

oh my god i'm so happy someone actually has it recorded!

    that's so awesome!!

  • I have been going to Disneyland every year of myu life and when I was there 2 years ago I was watching from my hotel room, and I saw the water just shoot up by it self, maybe they were practicing to see if it still works

  • OMG i can't believe it took me thig long to find this video! this was one of my fave parts about going to disneyland we'd always get there early fri night and then watch this show and do all the little things they had around there the water fall you could walk be hind and such ah *hugs* thanks RU always put up the best stuff!

  • Oh my god!!! I never knew about this!! It's my two favorite things in the world...fountains and disney..I hope they bring it back

  • Oh!! I remember this!! This was so cool! I cant believe its gone :(

  • Nice Job RU!

I saw the fountains on a few months back,

But it was nothing like this. Nice video.

  • great video to post

cause i know they still have the set up at the hotel

  • No, this show was removed a couple years ago.

    RU
