Might as well use a pro-sound amplifier with genuine high power output rather than stepping the mains down to 12V then running a car amp (which then steps it back up internally to whatever voltage the rails are!). Pro-sound amps are cheap enough and have genuine RMS specs. Unless you ever use actually this setup in a vehicle I guess. Good woofers for the money anyhow, on specs at least.

@CH14life get a car battery charger a cheap $30 one will work and get a copasitor or a old car battery and wire the battery chager pos and negative to the battery and then to the amp your ground will be the negative on the battery.... takes 5 mins

What he's doing is perfectly fine. The PSU will drop voltage and the amps protection circuit (low voltage protection) will kick in and safely cut the output to the subs, thus any damage that could occur would be avoided.

Don't talk shit to people calling them dumb when you don't even know what you are talking about. That amp is rated at 1100 watts PEAK. The subwoofers are rated at 1200 watts PEAK. Not RMS. The subs are rated at 350 watts RMS and the amp is rated at 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 250 watts RMS and 4 ohms.

He may be underpowering them, but he doesn't need another amp.

Learn about car audio and the difference between PEAK power handling and RMS power handling you fucking tard.

u can do it with a car battery, and a small charger so you can power your battey, with an ordinary 60 amp battery,with 300-400w rms you can listen to music at half volume for 3-4 hours, and then in the night you can charge it

BUT there is a big difference between Car-Audio and Home-HiFi...you really should place it in your car and not at home...

@mc430ftjesus: The actual rating should be about 600Watts RMS. I've got a quite similar one with 2x12" Woofers IN MY CAR ;) and with a 600Watts (Rated Power) Amp by Ground Zero it works REALLY well :)
