  • I love how people argue over which one is more "accurate" lol, 5 vs 144 frets? Accuracy is kind of thrown out the window here, people... What's important is which chart is more fun, and that goes to guitar hero.

  • GH is more accurate atleast during the main riff.. its played by one guitar, really. and the lower note is constantly played, aka the green note. RB has it the opposite way and doesnt really make sense

  • gh looks more challenging but rock band realy captured the essence of the song

  • What I'm noticing in this video is that the GH chart tends to be a little more towards what a Rhythm guitarist would play in this song, rather then what the lead is actually playing.

Also, GH clearly just took the tab from a Guitar Pro file and incorporated it into a video game.

I think RB has a more fun and accurate chart.

PS: This song is so much fun to play on a 'real' guitar. It's really simple too.

  • Real Guitar wins

  • rb has better chart, just a crappy engine imo

  • they are both close and have differences through out but i'm stickin with GH!

  • Guitar Hero is much more fun

  • FUCK RB

  • i saw the whole video before reading the comments and im glad it wasnt only me who thinks RB kicks GH´s ass by way to much

yeah GH seems harder, but RB feels more natural

  • @KaEeRUu That's the thing- Harmonix is dedicated to a more accurate approach while Guitar Hero goes for a more arcade-y approach, if you will.

Think of it as Rock band is to Madden as Guitar Hero is to NFL Blitz. That's the way I look at it.

  • RB chart makes me feel more connected with the audio. GH is harder for me, not only because of chart but also because the GH note arrangement feels awkward for the song.

GH needs more skill but RB seems more comfortable and fun for me.

  • WTF...That is a man singing.

  • @peperonyandchease yes yes there is

  • @mistermeekl12 he sounds like a woman, he might be a gay

  • @peperonyandchease u sure? check the music video or how similar his voice is to billy corgan

  • Rock Band is much easier...

  • Guitar Hero.

  • the thruth is that GH is mostly for amusement of idiots that play thousands of combinations when its mostly likely an 3 chord song thats why RB always seens to be better and more accurate to reallity

  • @Guiii41 This is wrong. Rockband does tend to be more accurate (not anymore) as it goes with the amount of notes played at any given time, but both of them are inaccurate simply because it is necessary for the game to be played.

90% of all pull-offs and hammer-ons are not pull-offs or hammer-ons at all. This is one of the biggest features of both games, and lots of songs require this, on both games.

Rockband and Guitar Hero are 90% the same game, with different graphics.

    Love them both.

  • @TheIncognitusMe yeah it's really true I've been playing more those 2 games and man the problem now is more about the track list than which one is mostly accurate, buy I still like them and hope for more good tracks on the retail game because I really hate to pay for more musics

  • At least Guitar Hero can make a good guitar.

  • from 4:17 just shows how advace rock band is compared to guitar hero and it that section i dont hear hold/long notes

just proves activision buy's something from other ppl and either keeps it that same and dont change a thing or manages to fluck things up....mmmmm sounds like EA's Twin Brother to me lol

  • @S9anky1982 on gh i always wanted to play the na na na nana na na

  • @S9anky1982 It's called backup guitar. There is a guitar playing a held note there (and through a lot of the song). It was a choice; to play the 16-some notes being played by the lead, or the held note being played by the backup. They both juggle these choices in lots of songs, and both of them do the same things.

Nothing about this shows Rockband is more advanced.

Granted, Rockband is usually more accurate.

But both of them are inaccurate in all of the important ways, so what does it matter?

  • Rock Band has all the notes more correct than guitar hero, is better RB

  • rock band is for pussies as always

  • um....i think the music's off around the middle part of the song you can tell. you should especially look @ the solo part and on. i wonder why nobody's commented on this yet.....??

  • @favorflavor101 It's actually just that the GH chart and RB chart focus on different parts. The RB version seems to focus on the more audible part though.

  • gh wt wins

  • @lakaicrewLL I LOL'D...

  • These games were made by the same people.... I think Activision

  • @GotParody Activision is merely the publisher. They dont actually MAKE any games.

  • @GotParody If I remember correctly, Rockband was created by members of the original Guitar Hero team that quit, or something of that sort. That's probably why Rockband was at the same level (I like to think Rockband's less hard-core charts and tighter required accuracy for note hits made for, I suppose, more interesting gameplay. definitely made me much more accurate) as Guitar Hero when #3 came out. They knew what they were doing.

  • This song is terrible (JK)...

  • no wonder Brian Aubert always says those songs kill him when he tries playing them on GH and RB2

  • Just saw these guys opening for muse. They were great.

  • theres actually another guitar played in the song lazy eye... Each game only plays 1 guitar for some parts of the song

  • Guitar Hero has the rhythm parts nailed. Rock Band has the lead parts nailed.

  • Uh, good grammar please?

  • Your profile says you're 17, so I suggest you learn to communicate like a seventeen-year old.

Your comment was indiscernible because of your horrible grammar and spelling.

Text is the primary means of communication on the internet and if you want people to take you seriously and consider your opinion, you need to stop typing like an autistic kid trying to sound like a gangster.

  • first of all i got speech problems so laugh all you want i dont care and second im a kid this is my sisters profile and i use it b\c she barely goes on. My bad for my spelling i was in a hurry.

  • @xxsghnrbfanxxs Thats some of the worst spelling iv'e ever seen

  • bad timing for music and notes

  • RB plays notes that are done by a keyboard. Wtf?

  • rb actualy charts notes correctly

  • wats up with 3:24 - 3:40 on the GHWT chart...they arent even charting the guitar...they are just charting the echoing noise of the song lol...RB is actually charting the guitar...

  • GH cuts out notes in this and charts inaccurately...RB wins

  • RB Does win

  • @KolaDannySH2 why? is there a reason why they win? or they just win because "y'know it's harmonix.there awesome n stuff"

  • yes guitar hero cool

  • @mycoolgoodvideos or rockband overcharted

  • @mycoolgoodvideos like were? rock band made it too fucking hard to complete

  • Guitar Hero is BEST !

  • idiot rockband is easy dumb loser.

  • im SICK of comments like rockband stole gh idea or rock band perfected the gh series or wathever....HELLO-O ROCKBAND DEVS ARE THE OLD GH DEVS !!! WAKE UP FROM UNDER THE ROCK !!!

oh....and btw rockband devs are all real musicians...so go figure

p.s.of course rockband is the better game

  • could some one please tell me the name of the guitar effect that kicks in at about 2:16 of the song? it'd be very helpful

    thanks

  • Someone told me it was a keyboard, someone told me it was a synthesizer. I wouldn't know what it is. Go on Wiki or something. They might have it there.

  • Okay, thanks. It does sound like a keyboard, but I just assumed it was guitar since it's charted on the game. I'll guess I'll start hunting.

  • i like gh4 cuz its bit more difficult than rb2

and the notes are more fun to play

  • Gh.s Layout is better to

  • RB2 design is better Gh:Wt Lays Out all the Notes

  • guitar hero 1 and 2 were awesome, harmonix left before guitar hero 3 to make rock band, guitar hero 3 sucked....wonder why......rubs chin....

  • rubs chin? stfu

  • no u

  • Guitar Hero puts too many notes where they dont need to b and doesnt put enough where it needs em. Rockband is waaay better. even though guitar hero came 1st, rockband perfected what they were tryin to do.

  • not too mention this vid is out of snyc a little

  • @brianxkri GH's chart seems fine to me

  • @shartdartfart The chart is awkward. If you're educated in music theory, you'd look at the chart with disgust. It makes no sense at all.

  • @SubzeroRay to you,how does it look awkward?

  • @shartdartfart Just to give an example, sometimes, when the notes should be ascending, they descend. Makes you feel like you're playing the bass part, but you're guitar...

  • @SubzeroRay hmm yeah

  • @SubzeroRay chart? sorry im no expert, so what's the chart?

  • @favorflavor101 It's basically the notes. The chart is the visual that tells you what to hit.

  • RB is better. More realistic. Guitar Hero just gives you a bunch of notes to play and RB actually gives you notes from the lead guitar...

  • guitar hero combines the lead and rhythm guitars into notechart, rock band from the start was supposed to be a full band so no need to combine the guitars, so less notes. Both add notes where none are needed, guitar hero just does it a tad more. Rock Band actually undercharts their stuff a lot from what i've seen

  • Hey guys did you know Harmonix are real music creaters this is my oppinon guitar hero just listened to the song at the solo OMFG thats nor right and what the fuck is wrong with the long notes its going way off the song Why are we arguing over a game i said it that the thing so shut up and just play the game omg people its a game stop whining Rock Band 2 chart is better

  • Comment removed

  • I want to say rock band is like 75% right and guitar hero has the other 25% and at points they both are the same just different colors. But im gonna say RB wins this chart

  • gosh why don't u people learn this on regular guitar? its very easy. one of the easiest i kno

  • i agree. you can probobly play this song with one finger.

  • close. only two lol

  • the main part with one finger. learn that, and you basically know 80 percent of the song

  • i know. the solo is actually easy compared to some stuff i know

  • @acezospad3s I know that from looking at tabs

  • i had my TV volume on max when i played the ending of this and my neighbor woke up

  • I think guitar hero is more accurate

but Rock band is more fun 2 play here

  • UGGGGH!!!

i wish the notes in the RB chart at 4:36 to 4:39 were in the guitar hero chart

  • to get this straight, harmonix made guitar hero 1,guitar hero 2,rock band, and rock band 2. Harmonix gave guitar hero rights to activision. so activision made guitar hero 3 and guitar hero 4. nobody STOLE anything!!guitar hero 4 is super awesome and so is rock band 2.they are both worth buying so stop fighting!

  • i gotta say rock band chart is better ...

  • I won't say which one is better, but i've got rock band and i've got to say that the chart is way harder on rock band, and seems more real then gh,i can't see this by the notes comin' off,i mean in gh seem just 3 strums, but the real one(and rock band)has more strummin.(Of course i prefere rock band, but i own gh3 and i really like it as a game)

  • hmmmm

I(unlike the majority of you) will actually think about this...by the way when i say that i mean the people arguing about which is better...

I agree with il4wlz... but there are other parts that look the other way around... I have to say that i like RB's better even though i like guitar hero more...

  • Wow people who cares! The problem I have with these comparisson videos is that everyone who owns guitar hero will say guitar hero is better and everyone who owns rockband will say rockband is better. Cant we just say theyre both great games with different pro's and con's and get on with our lives?

  • AS A GH PLAYER RB'S CHART IS WAYY BETTER

  • are you kidding?... that part at 1:19 is an effect making it chopped up and RB actually put it as individual notes?.... wow... I don't how that makes it "WAYY BETTER"..

  • If you know anything about playing guitar, that is not an effect but a type of picking called "Tremolo picking." Here's the definition: "A regular and rapid repetition of a single note, which is scored as a single note." It's a single note on a sheet of paper when reading music, but you pick very fast and it sounds like many notes. So rock band wins. You lose.

  • You can tell it's edited though can't you? I play real guitar and can easily tell that something effect related happens there. And I definitely already agreed that rock band wins... so that doesn't make me lose.. way to fail..

  • You fail for thinking that it's edited. It's clearly not.

  • well, as I see the end however, RB takes the win... Guitar Hero was being really weird with their chart, lol. But I like GH's beginning anyway. =P

  • Guitar Hero is STUPID!

it has some parts way F--k'n off

    ROCK BAND IS THE BEST!

  • Guitar Hero is a joke..

  • Around 4:45 Rb is playing the bass when Gh is playing the lead. WTF?

  • i noticed that too

  • Wow what a craptastic job Neversoft did on that chart. RB2 FTW!

  • Dang people, do some rescearch before saying anything!

  • Both have mistakes, but GH's errors are much more apparent and awful. The RB chart has fast-strumming sections, while the GH chart has them as sustained notes. In the solo, RB's fast chords are three-note chords at a slow pace on GH's chart. How is that more accurate?

  • rockband is a lot easier i find. therefore, i like guitar hero better.

  • i think GHWT its much better

  • you know what?

    who cares which is better

theyre both hella fun to play and its an awesome song on two awesome games.

if you want 100% song accuracy, buy a real guitar.

oh, and do ghwt & rb2 have the same song list?

  • no but alot of songs are the same

  • thanks

  • GH all the way

  • GH chart wins. Wtf is with the Chord hammer-ons?

  • It's more or less emulating sliding on a real guitar.

  • i swear, if GH came out with a band kit b4 RB, everyone would be dick-riding the shit out of GH just as much as most people are doing to RB.

  • guitar hero is harder! YAHHHHH!

  • As a real guitarist, I can honestly tell you that the GH:WT chart is completely accurate, and the RB chart is almost an embarrassment. And I like Rock Band. But WT just seems to have better charting this generation.

  • Most definitely. RB2 makes you play the bass notes during the solo. What the hell? GHWT is really on the mark, at least with this song.

  • how are you gonna call the rock band chart an embarrassment if you are a "real guitarist". It is obviously more accurate. Maybe the timing of this video throws it off. the held notes do go up, so good job ghwt, but the rock band chart is just overall better.

  • LOL your an idiot its a game and your telling me that you played this song exactly the same way as these charts are and got this song....... NO YOU DIDNT. so to me it seems like your sucken GH's D$%K. Cause these notes are just placed on the screen, so you can play to a song that has been recorded already....by a real GUITARIST.

  • Bitches, I didn't understand one point you were trying to make, at all. Second, all the uber strumming in the Rock Band chart IS A DELAY EFFECT, NOT STRUMMING.

  • The RB2 chart is certainly more fun to play.

But some in the RB2 community already complain about how boring this song is. I dunno. But they don't know until they've seen the GHWT chart. Snooore.

  • I can play this song on actual guitar, and Rock Band definitely wins on the accuracy to the actual song, but GH wins on gameplay. I would rather play the GH version because it is generally harder ( I said generally I didn't say GH was more difficult ) In the end which game is better depends on your preference.

  • GH is more accurate, but those fast parts in RB are awesome

  • ummmmmm WRONG!!! haha, no seriously its not. in guitar hero they make you play parts when the guitar isnt even present. i dont feel like looking for the time, but they even make you play some bass parts. very innacurate. i can also play it in real life and rock band 2 wins it.

  • If you look between about 1:10 and 1:20, those are def fast strummed parts becuse of the twang the noted makes, and GH just has held notes....LAME!

  • It would make sense to have them as strummed notes but I can play this on actual guitar and it is something you do with a whammy bar so it actually isn't really strummed.

  • ok i just compraed the charts with the real guitar tab and GH has the most accurate one, rb in some parts needs more notes and then it overcharts for some reason.. Winner: GH

  • and in the solo--i have never seen the real tabs, but it definately sounds like fast chords when GH just has 3 chords

  • each side appears to have faults, but it definately appears that RB is right in the really fast chord sections when GH has a long note or something (like at 2:00)

  • If Rockband 'ripped off' Guitarhero, who the hell cares cuz Rockband does a way better job in all aspects.

  • actually activision ripped gh from harmonix so harmonix mabe rb and now activision is stealing their idea again

  • I think Guitar Hero: World Failure just got PWNED. I hope for the Neversoft fanboys that they chart the rest of their setlist better.

Was the GH:WT side on Hard or something? lol

  • I'd just like to say this about Harmonix's charting theory- they take into account all of the layered guitar tracks in a song, even if they're played by the same person in the recording. The way they chart it is realistic in terms of chord changes and distinguishing single notes from chords (Neversoft can't seem to do this). They do mix the tracks up to keep the chart fun to play- by mix I mean instead of playing the same verse over and over again, you play something from the other guitar track.

  • Its staggering how people think they're right by leaving an unjustified case in ever so little words. ONE, Silversun Pickups has 1 Guitar, count em' Brian Aubert, 1! TWO, the Rock Band charting is terrible, absolutely awful in terms of actually tabbing. They act like two guitars are playing and at some points the guitar swings into Nikki's and Joe's "thing". Guitar Hero's chart beats Rock Band in realism without a doubt. Pathetic!

  • I'm sorry but Rockband 2's charts look alot more fun then Guitar hero's. and it seems like Guitar couldn't really follow the song correctly(and no its not the keyboard parts i'm talking about

  • its not neversoft its redoctane that does the whole game ns just sponsors it and at 4:17 rb2 uses the keybord for a guitar rocband uses guitar only rb just sucks period

  • Failed troll.

  • RB ripped off GH

  • wasnt RB2 out first?

  • I'd love to hear you explain how they ripped off GH.

What an awful GH chart. Way to chart the song completely wrong. It helps to be musicians AND developers, Neversoft.

  • HMX's outlook on their company... Musicians first games second. Look at the setlists and how the two play. HMX is more about the music where as GH seems to be more on the money and game aspect.

  • I would say Guitar Hero is more focused on the content of the song that fits to the gameplay. If GH was focused on money then they wouldn't have a song like TTatF on GH3.

  • ... Then please do explain why they're milking the franchise name to death?

    This isn't even Guitar Hero.

HMX has secured rights to the Beatles... they announced a Beatles game coming next year. But they clearly said "IT WILL NOT USE THE ROCK BAND NAME! And a couple sources cite it using the RB engine and Platform" Proof HMX doesn't need to milk a franchise

  • I guess because they need every chance they can get to show off the guitar hero name.

  • ROCK BANDS > GUITAR HEROS.

    stop being dillusional, people.

  • Wow neversoft. Horrible job. Seriously

  • Rock Band 2 wins

  • God Neversoft are useless at charting. If they're not overcharting they're undercharting, they stick with the same boring riff through the majority of the song and they actively chose to have you play said boring rhythm riff instead of the different and better lead.

  • There is no rythym, there is just lead, the other sounds you are hearing are keyboards and bass. There is only one guitarist in Silversun Pickups, and that's the lead singer. Personally I think the guitar hero chart is overcharted, but the rock band 2 chart is pretty undercharted.

  • silversun pickups had two guitarists, and personally, i think RB2 has this chart nailed perfectly

  • Check the personnel for the album Lazy Eye is from (their deut album Carnavas), the only guitar listed is Brian Aubert the lead singer. There is only one guitarist, the rest of the sounds are keyboards and bass.

  • The chart is fine...but check again. 1 Singer/Guitarist, 1 Bassist, 1 drummer, and 1 keyboardist

  • they had 2 guitarists, but one got kicked because he lit the singer's jacket on fire

  • no amount of overcharting can bring back gh in this fight. maybe in the solo area but thats it

  • RB2 Wins. End.

I can't believe how Neversoft screwed the chart for my favorite song of GHWT. That's, like, the WORST CHART EVER.

  • Wow, the GH one kinda screws you up with that guitar solo.

  • it pisses me off how gh thinks that by putting rhythm guitar parts over easy lead guitar parts that it makes the game more fun. when u play u totally miss out on important parts of the song.

  • of course there is~ the hammer-on chords are an edge that RB has.

I can't believe how undercharted the GH:WT chart is~ RB's chart is more fun

  • Considering you can hammer-on/pull-off chords in real life, RB2 wins that.

  • Rock band 2 wins this IMO. Much more accurate in the solo.

  • GHWT wins. Fatality.

  • hou much is the mic for gh;wt

  • ghwt wins this time

  • rock band 2 chart looks better

  • At gh:wt cares about the bass part
