Have this in red & its the best little car I have ever owned. Totally recommend to anyone wanting a reliable & cheap to run vehicle. Holds onto the New Zealand roads perfectly & bit of a head turner as well (for all the right reasons of course). Just love it & thanks for the indepth tour :)
@arenoo911 I would recommend a Japanese vehicle over a German, for the fact that maintenance on a German car is overall more expensive, and can be costly when coming to parts. I own a Beetle, i know, lol. But they are fun and cute, but it can be hit or miss with problems with em. some early models are electric gremlins. but mine is a '99 and it is just fine. it all depends.
Did they ever fix the ETC sensor problem? If that sensor goes (or if the computer thinks it goes) the engine develops a terrible misfire until it warms up, and even then, it sporadically misfires during normal driving conditions.
Hey man press the unlock button the keyfob twice, first time quickly and on the second click hold the button down. This will roll all the windows down before u get in the car. You make a vid of this with any vehicle with a keyfob years 2004 +. This works on Ford, VW, Chevy (some) and Chrysler. Give it a shot!! BTW Nice vid man
Thanks for uploading this video! I have a 2004 gray VW Beetle with the turbo engine. I don't care if it's a woman's car either, I love to drive it. I don't have the convertible, but I have a sunroof. I love that car and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
You know that you put out the light switch to turn on the fogs right? :) We have a 98 and its a pretty sweet car although due to the fact that it was the first year for them it has alot of design flaws, eg. the power window buttons sticks down, the trunk and gas cap don't always open and the engine light is always on lol :P The newer beetles are 100% better though :) Great vid Kyle 5*s
I like the New Beetle, but my favorite of the small 2 door compacts is the Mini Cooper S. I would have one in in British Racing Green with silver go fast stripes down the middle and a silver top. Manual, of course. ;)
i dont know if i'd ever own one myself, but luckily i have a friend who lets me drive her 1.8 turbo 5 speed beetle sometimes. it's a fun car if you dont take yourself too seriously.
They are pretty safe. My mom and i got rear ended by one while backing out of a parking space. Only the left front fender was crushed. It hit us going 25-30. Also type in Volkswagen Beetle unbelted crash test and watch the whole vid. The car barely crushes.
Cute little car. It did sound like it was running a little rough. I almost thought it was a diesel it was so loud. I'm a guy and I'd probably drive a bug. Not a convertible though, they're kinda girly. If it was a Turbo S, that's a different story.
Thanks for uploading Kyle! My step-mom has always had VW Beetle Convertibles! First a 2004, like this one, now a 2009. One thing about the new ones, they have different lights and speedometer, and the 2.5L i5. Myself...I don't care if it's a woman's car...I'd drive it!
Anytime my friend, me too! I love beetles, they're such unique fun cars, plus I think it depends on the color your get :P have you seen the W3 (triple white) those are sweet!
Both ones my step-mom had were sort of a beige/off white color. Really nice, but gets dirty so fast. Thank goodness they are small and easy to clean though.

Hello I was looking into buying a beetle and was wondering if you think this car is good for a college student tight on money?

xvrhernandez349 2 years ago
Yes, but assembled in Mexico!
talldude123 2 years ago
Also, the horn is very 'deep' founding for a VW.

why did the car start beeping out of nowhere around 2:15

That's a more masculine horn than I would have expected in a Beetle or even a VW. Some parts of it closely resemble my uncle's '05 Jetta.

The thing I hate about VW/Porsche vehicles is that they beep incessantly, from Audis, to VWs, to Porsches, to even Bentleys and Lambos.
1bentley4ever 2 years ago
see i like it we had a 1994 porsche 968 and the door chime reminds me so much of the porsche
FantomLightning 2 years ago
It's a better sounding beep than others. Porsches are so awesome. My dream SUV right now is a Porsche Cayenne GTS in Nordic Gold.
