@liftmasterfan1414 it wasn't the opener it was the door it isn't insulated like some people have and you are right belt drives can be quoted than chain drives. I personally have a chamberlain whisper drive belt drive mated with an insulated door. I can never hear it

(1) you need 3 pc of Angle iron to mount the Opener.. not 2 like you have

(2) I give that door 3 years before you need a new top section ...You didnt reinforce the top section,

@mugenmotorsport This one is mounted almost identical to the other two next to it and has been working great since 2008. All of my doors have worked great and not a single issue with the way they are mounted.

@mugenmotorsport lol...yeah i earned the hard way! it was my first time and didnt know better. im just gonna wait for next year to buy a whole new garage door because only the top end costs like about half the price of a new door. i used my autobody skills...tig welded and then i mounted angle iron and bolted it down. now the door opens and closes better. i realized there was a warning on how the owner is responsible to reinforce the top end but the sticker was so small....well its doing its job

Reinforcing the top section is recommended, but not necessary. If your garage door is properly balanced and the opener's force settings are set *just* past the point where the door will not complete the cycle, you're good. If you screw your door, you've either:

1.Got an unbalanced door

2.Blew a spring and didn't know it, and have continued to use it

3.Have an opener with an improper angle (rail should be 1" or so from an open door)

4.Or wrong force settings.

@THExBONExMASTER He would love the 850 doors that they tried to open at a Croger warehouse in Az.. The transformer that supplied the openers (all 850) tripped out! Next time let's just open say... 300 at a time guys!
