Dude, back in these games, the only way to play them was 'Arcade/Easy' for your first run-through. In the case of Ace Combat 2, you could only unlock the 'Expert' controls after beating the game once.

There were choices in the options menu for arcade/expert controls. The issue with "acracde" controls is that they are very limiting in how they let you maneuver.

You know, i've still got my copy that i bought when the game first came out, and i've beat it at least sixty times now. So i feel my complaint is legitimate when i say WHY does the plane say ALERT! BODY DAMAGE! five times in a row for every single hit you take? Every time i play it it irritates the hell out of me D:<

I loved the music in this. The disc is CDDA too. You can put it in your CD Player.

But I find it strange, because here in Europe first game was named Air Combat. But then comes Ace Combat 2 and 3 for PS-One, then the PS2 Ace Combat games.

Ace Combat 4: Distant Thunder, Ace Combat: Squadron Leader and Ace Combat: The Belkan War.

The title screen is just a cry of nastalgic moments of the good old years of my beloved psone . ^^ i still play some psx games and its just for a timeless console. =3 air combat was one of the games ever in the 90`s. but why changed namco the music style of ace combat from badass rock -music to lame techno -sounds ? if i wanna think about about Fight-jets then i think on running machines , high- explosive rockets , brutal-machine guns and rocking dogfights in an epic style. =D

I ALLWAYS used the cheat to give me regular colored planes versus the akward red-white-purple one you're given :P

And i've beaten EVERY ace combat (From Air combat 22 to Ace combat 6 and X1) 100%. That alone is proof that it's the best game series EVAR.
