  • there are thousands of phans, including this one, with you on this. i respect you more for having seen the show and survived.

    much respect. :)

  • Love Never Dies is an incredibly beautiful show, the score is absolutely stunning. It's just you're that are too small minded to give it a chance.

By the way dear, Meg doesn't shoot Christine out of jealously, it's an accident and clearly you don't understand the concept -of what is a breathtaking show.

  • @ysscaffolding you're right. My bad. That must be why it's closing...

I did give it a chance, actually. I saw it in London. I thought it was ridiculous. A beautiful score doesn't save the mediocre plot. If the Phantom is stupid enough to say "we can't all be like Christine" he deserves to lose her. Accident or not, Meg shouldn't even be there with a gun. The Girys weren't friends with the Phantom. Fact. I don't see most of the plot as plausible, making it, to me, a bad show.

  • Love Never Dies is the best show i have ever seen - the musical quality of it surpasses that of the original. Silly girl.

  • Love Never Dies is one of the most romantically beautiful shows ever, regardless of Phantom. No disrespect, but until you've seen the show and watch how passionate everyone is (Ramin in particular is exquisite) then you can't call something awful! If you want a metholodical plot, go see a play; a musical is about the Music, which is superb! And with regard to the ending, as I recall 'Titanic' didn't end happily, yet everyone still loves it. Doesn't have to end happily, just to be a good show!

  • @coolheinz9294 this is an old video and since then I actually have gone and seen the show in London. Still hated it. Ramin was either having an off day or over-hyped because his performance was nothing special to me. A musical also has to HAVE a PLAUSIBLE plot and I don't see the plot of LND being plausible, so therefore the music has less impact on me. Titanic had a beautiful ending. LND doesn't leave me feeling anything but relief that it is over. That's just my opinion. You like it, I hate it

  • @animelover13579 Correction: I LOVE it! Oh, and the Titanic ending 'beautiful?' More like 'BORING!' Waited almost three hours for the stupid bitch to throw the necklace in the ocean?!! Utter Rubish!

  • I went to London and saw the show,

The beginning was terrible. It was a mess of tunes like "Only for You" and"Heaven by the Sea". They tried to make the Coney Island atmosphere but sacrificed plot logic for it.

The rest was phenomenal. Till I Hear You Sing, Beneath a Moonless Sky, The Coney Island Waltz and the title song (100x better when you see it live; it got a standing ovation) deserve to considered on par with the songs from the original.

Andrew-Lloyd Webber hasn't lost his touch,

  • @FuzzyMuffins2 Sorry mate, I'd still disagree with you on their caliber compared to the original. Musically maybe, but lyrically, not even close.

And as far as I'm concerned the plot is still rubbish so I'm not convinced the music will save it.

  • @animelover13579 I agree that the lyrics are not the best, but melodically they are amazing. I think that you can't judge the plot until you see it performed; the soundtrack doesn't give the whole experience. The plot isn't GREAT, but it is passable.

  • @FuzzyMuffins2 No offense, but for this die hard phantom phangirl, 'passable' isn't good enough if it is gonna be the sequel to the most successful entertainment piece of all time

I respect your opinion though. LND just never clicked with me.

  • LOVE NEVER DIES IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!THE PHANTOM WOULD NEVER LEAVE THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE DEAD IN THE ARMS OF OTHER MAN!!!!!

  • LOVE NEVER DIES IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think the music is so good it will make thew show work...........well the music is all over YT so maybe not.

  • do you know they are closing down LND for four days to change stuff and apparently part of the changes include the ending

  • @independantwoman I heard. It's about time they do something to try and fix that mess, though I doubt it will be much better.

  • I saw this in the Adelphi and hated it too. It's bad. Really bad. Made worse by Ramin's acting, believe it or not. When I saw him in the original Phantom in Her Majesty's Theatre he was untouchable and AMAZING. In LND, he is wooden and dare i say it, slightly boring. Hats off to Sierra Borgess for being awesome throughout, but shame she had such poor material to work with. This show is bad - end of.

  • @colin26colin Hey I saw Ramin in Phantom last Oct & I was blown away by his performance. I was nearly crying @ the point when he dragged himself across the stage to get his mask he jst put so mch emotion into it. But when I got last min tickets 2 c LND it was the understudy who was Phantom and I thought he was pretty good. Everone erupted at the end of 'till I hear you sing' I agree with you Sierra Borgess was FANTASTIC! Bt the story is the let down. It dsnt evn hv a good ending 2 redeem it!

  • I kinda still want to see it, but i didn't really like how they change the characters completely. yeah, meg a sweet little ballerina girl shoots and kills her best friend, while trying to drown her son. (Based off of wikipedia.) but in a way i kinda don't really blame meg and madame giry for being ticked off with the phantom, cuz they worked hard to get him on top, and i heard that meg even had to become a prostitute for money so.... ?: )

  • @thepuppyandpanda yeah, but my point is that she was freaked out by the phantom in the original (madame giry) and now they're buddy buddy and she helped him survive? I don't think so. They didn't know each other at all.

  • @animelover13579 oh sorry i didn't know, i just thought that they were friends cuz in the movie didn't madame giry help escape from that like circus thing or something? idk it sounds like you know more than me.: )

  • @thepuppyandpanda the movie makes it seem that way, but LND is a sequel to the stage show. She didn't know him personally there.

    I'm kind of obsessed haha

  • @animelover13579 it's ok we all have weird obsessions! although the plot is kinda stupid, part of me still wants to see it: )

  • THEY KILL CHRISTINE???? =O I was hopeing by bothering with a sequel they would end it on a happy note this time. I like the songs but this spoiler upsets me.

  • Did you even listen to the soundtrack when you made this! Love Never Dies is based on Phantom in Manhattan. The plot is amazing, and Love Never Dies because Its her love for him that continued throughout her marriage! Are You Kidding Me! are you literally not thinking? Next time you want to rant, go more deep into the show because this was just a bunch of BS!!! Gustave, right is 10 years old. When they say they havent seen each other its for 10 years!! Common Sense Lady!

  • The plot is crap in my opinion, thanks very much! Please don't insult me, I've listened to the soundtrack and I know the plot quite thoroughly. In my other videos I explain the idiocy of assuming the kid is the Phantom's. Common Sense Person! She had sex with him the night before her wedding. Then she got married and had sex with Raoul. The kid is musical. So is she, and so was her father. No way to tell. I'm not saying their love would die, I'm saying that I dont think this is a good sequel

  • @BellaLuvsEdward08 The name of the novel is also the Phantom of Manhattan, and I am well aware of that fact. How much 'more deep' or rather, deeper should i go into the plot, because it seems pretty shallow to me. Making a bet on the actions of a woman who isn't even aware of what is happening, the Girys (who didn't know the phantom) suddenly become this dynamic duo/psycho pair who are jealous psychopaths who murder people? Yeah, it's a reeeeeeeeeaaaaaally deep plot.

  • It's all a lie. It never happened. This is not the same Christine Daae not the same Raoul not the same Phantom. The music couldn't possibly be better than the Phantom. The Phantom is Webber's masterpiece. He understands the music but unfortunately he has no appreciation whatsoever for the story...the story that carried his musical to mythical proportions. Amazing that he can be such a genious and such a dolt.

  • @bastiantotalhappy Ok, they'll always love each other, I agree, but I think she loves Raoul too, and that they all wouldn't change like the do prior to and during love never dies. It's just my opinion, neither of us is right or wrong. I don't recall ever saying they would stop loving each other.

  • I am with you on every single level of this musical. The LND music should have been used for a COMPLETELY separate show, because it is quite beautiful in many respects though when you compare to the melodies in Phantom, it is laugh worthy. *coughcough*bathingbeauty*cough**cough*

  • No Problem, apperently people can't understand, its your opinion, its their opinion, its not ending the world, its just what you believe.

  • I change my opinion, I bought the cd, I like it. I don't agree with your opinion, but I DEFFINITLY can see your point of you. Keep strong on what you believe!

  • Thanks for being civil and reasonable about it.

  • @animelover13579

I ACTUALLY SAW THIS in the Adelphi and found it enjoyable and far superior to the CD. See the show live (it will be on Broadway next year) before you make these kinds of judgements.

  • listen love if you didn't want to see the sequal don't watch it i think the show is fantastic when u have a hit like love never dies , cats and pahntom then you can have a say other than that shut ur mouth

  • I would appreciate it if you could tone down the rudeness a bit, as it is entirely unnecessary. I won't watch it, thank you very much, Love Never Dies is FAR from a hit, and I am allowed to speak all I want and have an opinion. Just because it differs from yours doesn't mean I am wrong.

  • @danieltaylor1988: She's entitled to her own opinion, dude.

  • @LerouxsPhantom yeah but she's never even seen the show so how can u comment on something you've never seen u can hear gossip about a show but until u have seen it no comment

  • @danieltaylor1988 I've listened to the music and seen clips. I've commented on plenty of shows I've never SEEN (not on youtube, in general). Shows I LOVE, Light in the Piazza, Jekyll & Hyde, Spamalot, Les Mis, even though i haven't seen them doesn't mean I can't have an opinion. THose shows impressed me with music alone. LND didn't do that.

  • A. You have never seen the show and have never even been to London.

    B. If you listen to the music and then see the show you will be able to figure out that the characters can could have indeed developed into their current way of life

    C. You have not seen the show

    D. If you saw the show you would know that the lyrics fit perfectly into the scenes.

    E. You did NOT see the show.

    F. Don't spend time posting crap you know nothing about, CLEAN UP THAT FILTHY ROOM that we see in the background.

  • Really? I've never seen the show? Thanks for informing me!

Now really, I love plenty of shows that I've NEVER seen- Jekyll & Hyde, Dracula, Spamalot, Light in the Piazza, Avenue Q, etc, so I feel I can judge on the soundtrack. If the songs aren't enough to attract me to see it, why should I bother? I don't think that the plot works.

I beg to differ that I know nothing about Phantom, you think that just because I don't like the sequel.

  • Also, that isn't my stuff, it's my roommate's. It isn't my job to clean up after her. Also, that comment is rude and irrelevant. Please don't be insulting when you post on my videos, I am just stating my opinion.

  • By the way that was joke, in case no one ever got it. It was sarcasm about killing meg. At least bring the old meg back..

  • Keep up the good work. RUG admits to having had anti Love never dies facebook account banned TWICE in two days. Andrew wants to flood youtube with fluffy, glowing propaganda videos about Love Never Dies and yet tries to ban or get others deleted who express a different opinion.

Andrew, just wait till Broadway. We will show you what a TEA PARTY really is you puff!!!

  • we kill Meg! LOL, now she deserves it!

  • I agree, and I dont agree. The plot does suck in ways, but good in ways. They said before it comes here to america and broadway, it is going through a LOT of changes, which I guess it good. Of course, the sequel is going to be different, I have not seen a sequel that isnt. It could deffinitly have it changed a bit, but they should keep a lot. Im happy they made the sequel, yet I'm not. I like not having my brain hurt trying to figure what happened to the phantom, but WHY kill christine, how bout

  • I find it very ironic that, when I first heard about this sequel, I was surprised, confused and upset, especially when I found out they were basing it on Phantom of Manhattan.

Then I heard that they would be re-writing some of the plot and I thought "Well, I still don't like it... but at least it can't be worse than Phantom of Manhattan, right?"

    WRONG!!!

  • I'm sorry I barely understand your comment. But I will try and answer what I can...

The first one was obviously NOT a flop, as it is still on Broadway. Perhaps you mean it wasn't popular? It wasn't but it wasn't panned like LND. I tend to disagree. The music is NOT better. There's no major hits like MOTN and AIAOY. Almost every song in the original is popular, and only a few tracks of lnd are worth listening to.

  • And please, please don't tell me you are referring to Gerard Butler when you say we have a phantom who can't sing. The sequel is a sequel to the stage show and has nothing to do with the movie.

Are you actually going to argue that MICHAEL CRAWFORD cannot sing? Because he is the original, and he is renowned as one of the best Phantoms to grace the stage.

Please don't use insults, it is unbecoming, especially since I am only stating my opinion.

  • I think you might be the rude one here, seeing as you have no idea about my education level...

I actually speak Spanish and am almost fluent in Italian, so before you insult people about their education levels, you may want to stop and think about what you're saying. You don't actually know how much I know, so think before you speak next time? Ok? Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • I apologize, I was unaware because you didn't say anything about it. Some people really do speak like that that are fluent.

But You were the one who commented numerous times saying "How dare you say something bad!" Just because i haven't seen it. I've heard and read enough to make educated decisions about shows I will and will not see.

  • Comment removed

  • What are you talking about? Your english is atrocious and if you are going to state an uneducated opinion and bash someone's who is very educated you might want to speak in full and proper sentences. Because you don't make any bloody since.

  • Honestly when I read what the plot for the Phantom 2 was a while bak (at least a year ago) I literally could not stop laughing,... then when I realized that he was actually going to write the story I wanted to cry. He turned this beautiful story into a huge joke... the man himself should be shot at this point.

  • I honestly laughed bcause everything you said is true. I actually fond it Funny to learn that Meg had become a psychopathic vengeful hooker out to kill her masters lover. If anything saves the show from extinction, it gonna be the music and the two stars.

  • Rant your heart away, girl. les incompetant people who like to make comments and rebuff your claims are simple minded people who thought that the movie Twilight deserved an academy award because of Robert Pattinson being hot and Kristen Stewart trying to give a 'passable' performance.

  • Another great expression of your sentiments, young phan! I agree completely with you about the plot points. You certainly have a deep and profound love for the Phantom. Do not let any of these naysayers (meaning those who denounce YOU not POTO) get you down. You are brilliant and beautiful) and you express yourself very well!

  • why not wait until you see it before believing the snippy views of some people, i know people who went and they loved it.remember that phantom and les mis were called rubbish when they opened by critics, they havent done too badly have they,

  • Because I have absolutely no desire to see it and have gotten the information about it from numerous reliable sources. Even PotO and Les Mis didn't get slammed like Love Never Dies is.

I'm not going to waste my money on crap.

  • i assume you have seen poto well you wasted your money on a show where the main song is mimed for god sake, i never liked phantom all that much but i always go to see a show with an open mind, and why havent you complained about the continuity flaw that had christine dying in her 40s in the movie version yet she dies in her 20s in love never dies

  • Well, considering it is a sequel to the stage version, it has nothing to do with the movie. Altogether, both the movie and sequel mess up the timeline, the movie puts it in the middle of the commune and the sequel is quite off, as the show originally took place in the early to mid 1880s, so 10 years later isn't 1907

I LOVE phantom, if you can't tell, so to me it absolutely wasn't a waste of money. I'd pay to see phantom 10,000 times before I see love never dies once.

  • and im sure that with £8 milion ($12million) in advance bookings andrew can do without your money

  • Good for him. I don't care about him making money, I care about the sequel ruining and insulting the integrity of the original.

  • Actually, I have seen plenty of other shows. Phantom is just my favorite, and it is different every time. the actors change a lot, you could see an alternate or even the style of an actor changes.

You watch your favorite movies more than once don't you? It's the same thing for me. Just live theater.

Please don't resort to insults, it is very unbecoming and unnecessary

  • Comment removed

  • how did I insult you?

  • Hey GarryChelsea, plot holes and shit writing can never save anything from being a flop.

Phantom and Les Miserables were dissed by the critics for being too LONG. I own the Complete Les Miserables, and that's all what was summarized (they praised the lyrics for being faithful to the original novels from which they aspired from). So do your reading.

  • I had the same feelings after I discovered how it all pans out...Devastated.

  • *sigh* What can I say? I was up all night scouring the interwebs for news, and my reaction is the same. :(

Kudos to you for putting up these videos. It's almost comforting to know that other people are going through the same thing.

  • It'll be okay. The story's survived almost a hundred years by now and more than one bad adaptation. In a few years this will just be a bad memory.

(Also I don't think the music will carry it either because I think the music I've heard so far is AWFUL... so yeah.)

  • I really, really hope so!
