Most people don't know it, but my first banjo isn't the one I currently own. I bought one once and practiced just a couple of weeks, and memorized She'll Be Coming 'Round The Mountain. My banjo was then stolen, with other belongings. That was it. For nearly a year, I never thought of restarting. I finally gathered a couple of hundred bucks and bought me a cheap one. I sat on the porch and slowly, after a period of three days, the whole song came back to me. Our brain is amazing. You can do it!

Many thanks, I had to sell that banjo last fall so I wouldn't lose my house and this was about a year ago so I doubt I could play it that well anymore. God willing I'll be able to buy another one sometime soon.

Thank you, I've played this one more times then I can remember and that helps alot. Well I started playing back in June of last year, taking lessons from a local picker. Back in July he decided to quit so I've been on my own since and honestly slacking on my practice. I don't make much progress on my own, hopefully another teacher will become avalible.

Awesome. You say you've been playing a little over a year. Did you play any other instrument prior to the banjo?

Thanks for the kind comment! This is a Goldstar HF 100, sounds and plays great. I bought this from Elderly Instruments in grand rapids, MI back in June. Feel free to send me a message, I've done quite a bit of looking on these before I bought it. I'd be happy to tell you more if you'd like. Mike
