Hey bro' that's how Forrest is. He really doesn't have a complete gameplan as far as I understand it. I know that you mentioned Greg Jackson, and I agree he is a great trainer with a huge rep. and a great bunch of competitors. BUT...Randy Couture is a great trainer as well as a fighter and I would just a well have him in my corner as Jackson. If you recall back Randy has been very close on all his analysis and predictions,including a few upsets he got right.

I have a feeling Randy was feeling a little fucked up after his loss to Lesar - and forrest wasn't sure if he wanted someone who lost to coach him. Therefore they all waited until the last second to come up with a gameplan. Or maybe they had no tangible plan.

Meanwhile the jackson camp watched every fight of forrest's and probably came up with a gameplan at least a month in advance.

I'm sure his championship belts would say something more substantial about his fighting than anything you have or ever will. Yes, Randy does have BJJ skills. He trained early on with Straight Blast BJJ in Portland, OR. As a BJJ guy myself, I'll tell you that this isn't the be all and end all in MMA. Saying that, I'll agree that I'd rather have a killer ground game than not.

i have nothing against the guy but he is like mark coleman. old school. their goals in the fight seem to be taking the other guy down as many times as possible and laying on them. and even in his heyday who did he actually beat who was any good. and the few guys he fought who were have way descent it was a questionable decision. lesnar beat him soundly despite lacking everything but brute strength. he would have stood no chance against mir or nog.

all of those opponents you listed are no longer in the ufc due to their inability to compete with modern well rounded ufc fighters who have bjj and muay thai. thats the problem with old schoolers like couture, they focus on wrestling and boxing. muay thai trumps boxing and bjj trumps wrestling. but you cant teach an old dog new tricks.

lidell may still be in the ufc but he shouldnt be, considering he has lost 3 out of the last 4 fights.

gonzaga is fighting on prelim bouts now.

you are missing the point. mir isnt in the same form. his form(standup) is much improved.

i hope mir busts up lesnar's face before he submits him at his leisure. if lesnar had mir's jits he would be unstoppable. but since he doesnt and since mir's standup is much improved the next match will end quick, unless mir decides to prolong it to show off his new standup.

mir is gracious and tends over-flatter his opponents. mir kept his head despite that barrage of punches from lesnar. i stand by what i said that lesnar has no jits. he has demonstrated no jits in any of his fights. he may be training with jits guys but he seems like the type of fighter who throws out what he has learned and resorts back to ground and pound in the heat of battle. (if he has actually learned any jits as you claim.) mir will submit him. i just hope he outboxes him first.
