i don't get why you have to start with your toes up to the line but then you measure the back of your foot, your losing the whole length of your foot, say some 90 year old did it and wore a size 12 shoe, if he jumped 6 inches forward and then measured he would be at a -6... he didn't jump backwards did he? or if he jumps a foot forwards he measures at 0... i dont get it
@JMoore4291 if you want to jump a gab of 2 feet you can just stand in the gab with your whole foot, and jump to the other side, or stand on one side and barely hit with your toes on the other side. The distance measured is the distance you HAVEN'T TOUCHED but i do get your point.
Do you think there's a directly corelation between the standing vertical leap and the broad jump? Maybe in the broad jump the hip flexors are relevant too.
Because my standing vert is 30inch and my standing broad jump is 9ft 4i 1/2.
So if i get a 40inch vert my broad jump should increase to more than 12ft 5inch.
Oh wait, I just tested myself again. PR 108 inch Broad Jump at 14 xD. Broad Jump 5'11 at age 10. w00t, so proud of myself lol. probably going to get some hater commenting on this like a month later, but meh this is youtube - the pisshole of retarded teens who listen to lil wayne.
Work on stability and balance drills. Maybe its your form when you jump. Use your arms, throw them out there as hard and fast as possible. That will carry you. Try jumping at more of a 45 degree angle instead of straight out. It will give you a better landing.
Why did he say "Broad" jump instead of "Long Jump"? I know why---he's really some 50 year old guy trying to look 20---but you gave yourself away. Anyway, great jump.
Hey I'm 57, I've jumped 8'11" and in a week, I'll be trying to jump 9' in the senior games. Any hints in form ? Wish a old man luck bro. Get back to me quick lol
I just do regular box jumps and other plyo exercises. what you might want to start, if you already dont it doing a lot of squats. I never jumped or did any jumps till my senior year in HS. I was always a heavy squatter though and when i was a senior I jumped 40" at a UMass football camp. that was my first jump test.
this is very very good! can i ask his usual work out routine? im a free runner, and the broad jump is the basis of almost....well pretty much everything.
mine's 9 metres
I could break the long jump WR but can't be arsed to run
