  • that's amazing how old they get! i have one and she's only about six months old.

  • is that all you feed him ?

or do you feed him other types of food ?

  • 10 year old so old!!!

  • Hey I Had 2 Of These And They Used To Do The Same As Yours Do, They Are Ravenous Little Mosters, They Have Quite A Bite On Them But Fortunately No Teeth

  • -thats cool how he stuff the food in his mouth with his hands!

  • does the small dwarf frog eat those ?

  • I live in Michigan too! I really want one of these guys but whats the minimum cage requirements??

  • google "aquatic clawed frogs" and there are tons of sites that give you all the info you need on feeing & how big the aquarium should be. It is too much info for me to type here. Have fun! :)

  • @Fob616 or you can google african clawed frog or xenopus laevis helpt me ALOT!!!

  • doesnt that hurt when he bites you!!!?!?!??!

  • Nope. He doesn't have teeth.

  • oooooo...i still thought it would pinch a bit

  • Great color! I have had A.C.F.s for years now. They have breed often with lots of babys. And They still make me smile all the time. I enjoyed your frog....Check out my videos. Thanks.

  • Thanks! I'm sure Prog would love to be a stud to your female frogs!!! :) He latched onto me one time with his arms....I think he was trying to mate & thought my white hand was a lady-frog, LOL.

  • I would gladly give you an adult female. I am giving away one one my girls.

  • Are you located in Michigan? I would gladly take her & she would love her new home. The tank Prog lives in is 20-gallon & I keep it extremely clean. Prog will be 8 yrs old in August! He sings all the time.

  • No Maryland sorry!

  • Darn. Well, thanks for at least offering me one of your frogs! :)

  • Ever try giving them live blackworms and frozen bloodworms, they love em!

  • Yeah! It's amazing how quickly he jumps at worms. Sometimes I feed him a small earthworm too as a treat. :)

  • I have an ACF myself and I have to do the same, show him where the food is or he will just swim by it and ignore it. But when he does find it, hehe, same thing, tries eat all of it, with finger included :-D

Mine is almost a year old and started croaking like a month ago (actually he is croaking right now :-).

Good to know Rolando is not the only one who has to be shown where the food is! Hehehe.

    Very nice vid.

  • Thanks for the comment! Glad to know there are others out there who enjoy ACFs as much as I do. I love it when Prog sings to me in the evenings and believe me, I never get tired of hearing his singing. Rolando is a cute name for an ACF!

  • u know i had two that would always try to mate all the time! i use to go to sleep and the damn thing would croak out the ass!lol, i never know they did that underwater!

  • Yeah, they do sing at night, sometimes all night, LOL. The first time my frog started ribbiting, I thought my fridge motor was going bad or something. It took me about a week to figure out it was the FROG. Cracks me up. :)

  • Cool, do you onli have a frog and a turtle? Or do you have more pets?

  • No other pets....just the frog & turtle! I was considering getting a dog in the next few months (maybe) but I have to figure out how much it would cost first & make sure I have enough money to take good care of him (food, vet visits, adoption costs, vitamins, heart worm meds, etc.).

  • how old is he?

  • He's 7 yrs old. :)

  • I never knew a frog could live that long!

  • I guess they can live a long time if you change the water regularly & feed them properly. I have heard of one person who had his frog for almost 20 yrs!

  • I love frogs+Turtles!I can't get either of them because of our dog.We used to have two frogs your frog is adorable!

  • Thank you!

  • No problem

  • did it hurt when he bit you

  • Nope. He doesn't have teeth & can't bite hard.

  • OH,hes such a cutie!!!!!I think he just adorable!

  • Thanks! He makes a ribbit singing noise at night. I think you can hear it a little bit in the "A day in the life of Sheba part 1" video that I put up.
