@Lushsucr nobodys histrionic but you, spouting dimly, rotely, vulqarly asinine, Notice how youtube doesn't ask you to talk about yourself, but rather discuss videos in a sane and rational manner. Like this:
I find Eruption fits the youtube video "1000+rwhp Supra two-stepping it " perfectly. Some old guy makes his car's fart pipes toot in a parking lot, and teen boys gawk and drool "Who, awesome"
Musically Eruption is the same sonic wankathon as two-stepping yer ricer car
One of the rare clips on here with him in standard tunning before the post 1982 era. Unless some used pitch correction on this old recording and put him in E natural. In any event, that was a superb performance!
No one had ever played the rock guitar like Eddie in those days. No one. No Page no Hendrix Iommi Frehley or Schenker you name it. He was King in 1978.
saw the van halen 1978 world tour in philadelphia pa. the spectrum. nobody past or present could touch van halen from 1978 to 1988 and i do mean NO ONE! even now 32 years later no one still cant!
hey man no disrespect, but eddie hated the bridge on a les paul.he said it sat to high for him, plus he needed the tremelo on the strat.eddie has said he had no problem with the neck on a les paul or any other guitar.not trying to be a smartass.thanks for the vid.
long time for this reply lol. ed actually hated the les paul, he only liked the sound because of the humbuckers. he liked the feel of the strat, but hated the sound of single coils. cross breed a gibson's humbuckers in a strat body and the rest is history.
@5150Frankenstrat I wouldn't say Eddie "hated" the Les Paul. In fact he loved them, but his tiny half-Indonesian body did not really "fit" the large and cumbersome Les Paul. I think he also liked the playability of the strat, especially in terms of the access to the upper frets...
@Noydsucr Aye, VH fans have found this info about Noyd, enjoy, in 1978, Noyd was at Walmart, purchasing rice VH1, February 1978, in that parking lot, Noyd was annaly probed by aliens, witnessed by teen boys. In this probing, the aliens turned up the stereo of Noyds "Lada" to 11, while Noyd screeched, as the aliens impaled Noyd's fartpipe. So everytime Noyd hears this guitar masterpiece, the Noyd is filled with terror and anxiety, as youll see by his same replies all the time. EVH is God
@5150Frankenstrat Yeah. He much preferred the tone of Frankie over anything he'd played... otherwise, why would it be his #1 for so many years? He had Les Pauls.. but only used them when his Frankie was out-of-tune toward the end of the set, back when it still had the old Fender tremolo. Once he got the Floyd Rose trem, you never saw a Les Paul again on stage. He did, however use a '58 flying V on Hot For Teacher on the main rhythm track.

@ajaxrules1975 Hendrix wasn't alive. Can't even believe you and i both typed hendrix's name on a van halen video. It's a shame honestly.

Ed's meth days. I guess he thought the glory was worth the health issues he might encounter 20-30 years later. Which he has.
