  • whats with the tip! goddamn!

  • @913DSM

Don't hate on the tip haha. I did trim it though. ;)

  • your dsm sounds pretty nice, now im assuming since these are brian crower cams that you had to degree the cams to get it running right?? id say for 280 cams your idle is dialed in pretty nice? what r u on dsmlink? im an evo guy but have a love/hate for the 1st gen dsm after helpin a friend swap 3 engines into his old bucket. haha

  • @dastallion420951 Thanks. Brian Crower cams, yes. Degreed, no. Yes, car was on DSMlink V2.5. Treated me right. Sold it a few months ago after owning it for 8-9yrs.

  • @diambo4life for sure man 280 cams is aggressive as hell, only drawback with the crower cams is they gotta be degreed to work right otherwise your power band will only be in certain rpms rather then broad you know..sucks to hear you sold it, but thats what 1st gen dsms do to ya, they suck your money faster then an expensive housewife haha

  • I have a Question,I had one eagle talon when i was younger,And it was a total piece,And ive been told Numerous times that these cars are pieces of shit...I want another one cause i miss my old one,But are these really shitty cars or is it only shitty to someone who Bags cars and doesnt respect them? Let me know what you think and any tips or advice on these cars that you know about it would be greatly appreciated!

  • @boomstix666

When it comes to DSMs it's all about the owner. This really is not specific to DSMs. Any modified car needs someone who knows what they are doing. I loved my DSM when I had it. I wouldn't have owned it for 8yrs if I hated it. They are great cars. The only weakness is the transmission.

  • Whoa the idle sounds better than in your video with 272s what gives?

  • @ctthenerd

The car has different cams, (280 v/s 272) therefore, the cam timing is going to be different. One thing I noticed with this car was it was always slower (@the track) when the cam timing was adjusted for it to idle smooth. It was always faster when it idled like crap. Also, in the other video, the car has a straight-through 3" exhaust. In this, the car has a Magnaflow muffler so a lot of the choppiness is not audible. Hope that helps.

  • @diambo4life That makes sense, thanks. I understand why I'm just still amazed that you could step up 8 degrees in duration from already fairly aggressive cams and at the same time improve your just by setting cam timing differently. I'm sure the muffler helps but no way it is responsible for the improvement to the idle quality.

Do you make more power or faster times with the 280s dialed in as-is than you did with the 272s with the choppier idle by any chance?

  • @ctthenerd

This video is a little deceptive. It idled choppier than that after I had adjusted the cams to where they seemed to make the best power ie. "straight up." I only had the BC272s for about a month. The car was never run at the track or dyno'd with them. I had an opportunity to upgrade without me spending a dime so I did it. People always shit-talk the BC280s and say they are the worst cams ever but my car made decent power on them.

  • @diambo4life i like your car man .i have as a desktop pic....

  • mmm its beautiful..

  • It has monroes in the front, AGXs in the back with some modified springs.

  • What suspension work have you done?

  • What springs/retainers are you running?

  • Brian Crower.

  • always been a fan of your car bro everytime i go on dsmtuners i see your car great turnout n plus i love the winter mode you recently posted lol

  • Can anyone explain why my 91 eagle talon tsi fwd has a idle problem it like bounces from 1-1.5k rpms and like surges, any explanations two people told me either idle sensor or a vacuum problem.

  • one way to tell if it is a vacuum problem is get one of those little tiny bottles of propane and just spray a little but of propane onto your vacuum lines. while the car is running. do not be excessive though! lol if you have a vacuum leak your car will rev up abit. another common problem is tb seals, or if you have alot of mods you need to do some grounding

  • mine does the samething, watch my vid and if yours does the same thing then it should be the ISC

  • I dont know a whole alot about These Dsm's What is the ISC?

  • @boomstix666 pretty sure there talking about the idle speed control

  • Thanks.

  • @diambo4life what turbo are you running?

  • @MoparORnoCar95

    PTE GT35r

  • Badass ride you got there!

  • Fudge thats a clean ass DSM
