This is by far one of my favorite classic RPGs for any system. It was not easy, it has some interesting, had different elements and most importantly it kept me busy and interested. Exploring was a treat watching day turn into night. Being able to watch the sunrise and set then the moon rise and set is awesome. Plus the music gave the game a GREAT atmosphere.
There are just some games that go misunderstood in the RPG realm and this is nearly at the top of the list following Mystic Quest.
Does anyone here remember that one part where you have to get past the sharks circling the drawbridge over the moat? Now that drove me fucking NUTS!!!!
The exploration, music, and quest of this game is what I love about it. The game looks old but get use to its gameplay and it's great. If you can't handle this then stay away from Dragons View. Holy shit the enemy is able to pull of Street Fighter level combos on your ass while your only down to a singular character.

(Ogre Battle: MotB toys with this very well, come to think of it.) It's an RPG with random encounters, so why be pretentious about it? You're just going to spam your best attacks anyhow. Drakkhen at least spared the player from having to make sense of every last ridiculous battle.
I loved this game when I was a kid. It was my step-brother's game, athough I don't actually remember him playing it... but I played it. I never knew what to do, nor did I ever progress very far, but I enjoyed exploring the world and listening to the music. It was amazing :D

and btw the reason this game sucks to you is you dont know how to play it, when you are in water you can get out by pressing L and R or if you play on zsnes then you press D, and all of your characters look like they are level 1 with just daggers equiped, my old file had my characters leveled up realy high all with dragon armor, not trying to show off but you should take your time to play the game first intsted of killing yourself in 10 minuets.
Have you ever played dragster? It's a pixeletated game in which you have to start up an engine, and you can't start it off too fast or slow or else you lose the game. It's so annoying and boring.

You can fairly criticize this game in many ways. However, the atmosphere is cool and soundtrack is well done. The overworld is basically free roam, not a restrictive type RPG. This was one of the first SNES games made.
Ok, I have to admit some things in this game are hilarious (especially that Paint shopped panther head), but if you goof around that much it's possible to make almost any game ridiculous. For an early SNES title it aint THAT bad ;-).

Guardiane, Just because you suck at this game doesn't mean the game itself sucks. Like many others have said, the game has a lot of flaws, but I like it. It has great atmoshpere, lots of cool music, and it's just plain weird. It gets a thumbs up from me, but that's because I don't suck at it, I beat it a few months ago.

But the sad part is you have to move on, you aren't going to be with your best friends as a kid when you grow up. I tried it out for 3 min , i just pressed left so i was turning 360C and random monster approached me, And one monster which was a Chinese Dragon killed 3 of my party member and the one that was left was like invincible! take care

Drakkhen is as serious as games got. If you fucked around, you were going to die, knowing what you can or cant do through trial and error is the only way to master the game.
Only problem i have the the constant breaking of armor, aside from that, i love this game <3
It may be horrible, but it brings back many memories of playing for hours.

I beat this piece of crap when I was a kid, and I never really figured out what the heck I was doing. It's a shame he left out the intro music - it's not that bad. It's the only thing about the game that's not bad, but for it's time, it was kinda trippy.

i had this game when i was like 11 or so but could never make any sense of it for the most part. it at least kept my attention for a while but its definately not the best of games. though i definately played worse

Hey, I beat this game when I was 14, I was really proud of myself. Pretty awesome if you're used to D&D and stuff. The game play could have been better, sure, but Idk I played that game for years, stopped, then one day got high and said "Imma beat this game." lol Took me all day.

Guardiane, Just because you suck at this game doesn't mean the game itself sucks. Like many others have said, the game has a lot of flaws, but I like it. It has great atmoshpere, lots of cool music, and it's just plain weird. It gets a thumbs up from me, but that's because I don't suck at it, I beat it a few months ago.

One of the first (or quite possibly THE first) SNES RPG. Yes it has lots of flaws, but for its time it was pretty remarkable. The title screen and music are awesome btw.

I loved this game as a kid. Even though the computer would always kick your ass and I didn't really know where to go. But everytime you ran into a tombstone you'd have to fight that giant black cat head and he would murder everyone. Fuck this game!

I remember this game. I found the whole execution of everything to be really bizarre. I could never figure out how to do anything....unlike the other SNES games which were more straightforward. But then again, I was a kid with a short attention span. I think if I still had this game, I'd give it another chance.

amongst all games in my childhood i liked this one specially because it was relaxed to play it.... i finished like 20 times before snes disappeared... i like its music, i liked its graphics, i liked its gameplay and i liked its challenge, i might understand if someone disliked it, but for me it was a good game (not like street fighter 2 but once i picked snes control i could be playing for hours) with great mysteries

@nahum67 Yup, i totally understand! games are like growing up! when your young you make lots of friends, you make best friends, you make relationships and love lifes. But the sad part is you have to move on, you aren't going to be with your best friends as a kid when you grow up. I guess its the same with video games, now that the X-box 360 is out you'll have to leave it behind

I tried it out for 3 min , i just pressed left so i was turning 360C and random monster approached me, And one monster which was a Chinese Dragon killed 3 of my party member and the one that was left was like invincible! take care

I just pulled out my SNES two days ago and found this underrated game lying in a pile of games. It's sooo much fun and feels like an 16-bit MMORPG, without multiplayer. >_<. But anyways, the game obviously was a masterpiece for its time. @guardiane, don't play it for ten minutes without even trying and say, "This game sucks." Give it a try. One of the most underrated and best RPGs on the SNES.

Drakkhen is as serious as games got. If you fucked around, you were going to die, knowing what you can or cant do through trial and error is the only way to master the game.
Only problem i have the the constant breaking of armor, aside from that, i love this game <3
