For me, Noam Chomsky - damn it's just too important to hear his opinion I really do want to just butt in on the comedian and say, "Shut up. Now. PLEASE" lol
this was actually a really good comedic interview. you could see an exchange of ideas being combined with the humour, which is why we saw one of those rare chomskyan smiles.
The evolution of recent human history has been dominated by minority control over the majority, the rulers have come up with nessesary illusion for compliance and servitude of the many, Science and technology has created a world of plenty, but the market mechanism is about artificial scarcity to perpetuate poverty and exploitation in a modality of war, enviornmental destructions, animal cruelty and so on . The new paradigm is sharing the Earth for our collective needs and wellbeing.
i dont know if i would feel to comfitable with everyday citizens deciding what should and shouldent be i mean there are a lot of idiots with serious illusions america is certainly not ready for that the economy would be in even more of a state
beautiful idea but like the idealist views of anarchy we would end up in chaos one day maybe
Chomsky always stays focused when being interviewed by goofballs. Even Ali-G couldn't throw him off. So sad that the top Chomsky video in a youtube Chomsky search has been the stupid-ass Ali-G interview.
Oh, I don't know. Maybe all those chained Africans brought to the states in slave ships? Or perhaps the slaughtered natives might have had a premonition or two?
and you are somehow different and better to the men who enslaved and killed the natives are you? in every man no matter how dark exists ourself, we are all capable of being a hitler or a killer just depends on how your circumstances affect you and whats the general thing of the time
@gab1234 Benjamin Franklin. Check his last speech...it had to be delivered by someone other than Franklin because the poor man couldn't speak...but read it..it's very very insightful...then of course Ike and the military industrial complex...that's just grown in to including congress and the govt. it's all easy to understand..but you won't find it on the evening news. You have to search for truth. you know that of course...any smart person does.
Has anybody got the clip, or know where I can see the clip where Danny goes into a maximum high secruity prison?
It was on his "how to start your own country" series, but cos I was livin abroad at the time and only saw a bit that episode I didn't get all the info.
youtube rocks just because we can share this kind of videos! we can me teh change! a new kind of society is posible... but the change start inside of us
Read libertarian socialist literature my friend, the proposals are there. A decentralised, stateless, non-capitalist system where all decisions are taken locally through popular assemblies by the working class who democratically own the economy. These decentralised units are then federated locally, nationally, internationally etc. That's roughly it, it can't be anymore. Start building it.
@FA8T AMEN...this is the place where the extreme right (libertarian) and extreme left meet. I agree wholeheartedly..it's time for the people to have some power...I mean..even Rome had a people's tribune to abut the interests of the monied few (the senate). Are we any less deserving? I'm all for it...we can do it..but it will not be done on CNN or FOX or MSNBC..we have t o work grassroots...
@davehutchinson67 I think this person was a libertarian in the far left, socialist (anarchist) sense of the word, not libertarian as in Ron Paul... and Ron Paul libertarianism isn't far right either, the far right is fascism, religious fundamentalism, monarchy, etc; libertarianism is usually centrist, to the left of conservativism but to the right of modern liberalism
@zzsharka They're not synonymous, but they're not contradictory either.. The classic socialist ideals are difficult to distinguish from anarchism, and Chomsky is into both. You've got some looking up to do, too :P
@PavedStones lol there are different forms of socialism but the true form is not anarchism. Check out the World Socialist Equality Party website. They represent the working class who are under represented. Anarchism occurs when there is no organisation to represent the masses on a large scale. The World Socialist Equality Party is the only source you will find which tells it how it is, at least a great deal more than main stream media, with quotes from politicians that you don't usually see etc
@zzsharka As you say there are different forms of socialism and I find it very annoying when a socialist takes an ultra-sectarian stance and claims he knows the one "true form" of socialism and everyone else is wrong, this sounds more like a radical religious cult lol.
If the website you're recommending me is wsws dot org, I knew it already and it has some fantastic content and is highly recommended to make someone discover a socialist perpective; (...)
(...) but it's not "the only source" either, it's just only a Trotskyist perpective. Trotskyists don't have a monopoly on "the true socialism"
And you have the wrong idea about anarchism. Chomsky has written a lot about it, as I see that you like him you may want to check out his "Notes on Anarchism" and other writings and interviews. Peace, comrade.
This man should live for at least 100 years more.

@trend2transhumanism You're right, and he's always so interesting that when these lightweights interject, it's always deeply irritating to hear them.

@trend2transhumanism I agree, even sadder that a farting baby clip has over 200 million views.

The people must be encourage to think for themselves what they want.
Your role as a leader is to elimate yourself
The delegation should be from below
Democracy is not just voting,
participation, discussion, interchange.
Come up with proposal.
