Medicare is a front to information control. In Australia here in the 80's they wanted to bring in the Australia Card which held all our info includin Tax File Number. I thought that it was interesting, given the present circumstances. Excellent work with the video posts. I worked in the financial industry for 10 years (banking and mutual funds) Left it behind two years ago. People have been seriously mislead when it comes to long term investment. Even the most educated have been reduced to guesswork and blind optimism. There have been cyclical market plunges every ten years and the same greedy practices go on, unchanged. nothing has really changed. The dates still coincide with major events. They damm near socialized healthcare the first day. The second day was the largest spending package ever & NOBODY READ IT. Dow futures are down allmost 200 allready and its a long weekend.
I also believe with fever that the market is being manipulated. As someguy once said and i paraphrase even a dead cat bounces if you drop it from high enough. Meaning there were probably autobuys at certain points which is what kept it up

You judge for yourself the degree of signifigance.

I agree, because the Healthcare reform which includes the electronic medical records/imaging are part of the stimulus package, and Medicare program reformations as well, which was annouced yesterday by Obama.
The upfront cost for providers to go this route are anywhere between 25k- 45k
bottom line, too many eyes and hands having access to your medical records...potential for misuses...eek.

Medicare is a front to information control. In Australia here in the 80's they wanted to bring in the Australia Card which held all our info includin Tax File Number. Well its was maybe to test the waters to the public because it was quickly refused by the public and govt shelved it. But just after that theybrought in the medicare card which was basically the same thing. The trick was, no free health benefits without it. Whenever they hide behind 'medical benefits' - don't believe them!

I thought that it was interesting, given the present circumstances. Excellent work with the video posts. I worked in the financial industry for 10 years (banking and mutual funds) Left it behind two years ago. People have been seriously mislead when it comes to long term investment. Even the most educated have been reduced to guesswork and blind optimism. There have been cyclical market plunges every ten years and the same greedy practices go on, unchanged. We'll see how the week plays out.

Street level leadership needs several factors: a clear and decisive voice with an intelligent demeanor, someone who can see through the fog and tell it like it is, and common sense bull-headedness. Where are these voices? Yss, some are here on this "public" forum and some in the consensus of the public eye. But (we) are too afraid to actually make a stand. Or are we? We love our "things" and our "distractions" too much.

The "health information technology" piece (another Big Brother program) is relatively old news. Wouldn't the markets have factored that in already?

The financial event was most likely Stimulus plan. I am thinking the PPT kicked in to keep the Dow at 8000, Then TARP II - the PPT could stop the drop; but kept it around 7900 so it looked OK.
That's my thoughts!

Obama is looking tired these days, look at the past previous months, he looks gaunt now. Lack of sleep, worried that he's going to have a tough time of it? Punch and Judy. The man is no better than Bush. Or any "politician". He's merely pushing ahead with something that has been in the books for awhile now.
Salvation won't begin with empty promises. The citizens have given in to bureaucracy and complacency. Why wait to see what happens?

I didn't "FIND" the event. I am reporting what reinhardt considers to be the event. I agree, it is a big event in his enron corruption seeking world. But it vould well have been the TARP II; that they pushed back a day. Give the guy a chance; it WAS supposed to be 9/2. Last minute change, on a Sunday?

Wow, this is insane! (regarding the health care info). We're creating yet *another* government agency that needs even *more* money from taxpayers. When will government stop inflating itself and CUT spending!!!! Plus the whole big brother issue of electronically tracking medical records is unlawful (I think) because they would need our consent to do so. REFUSE!
