  • Beautiful!

  • Squire's face (and his nose) is telling it all...

David must have really big balls to take this song on. The hand on his heart at the beginning might help. What helps the most is Squire's Voice.

This vocal part is difficult to no end...

  • Why all these negative votes? Are you kidding me, this guy sounds good, it sounds like Jon Anderson...he sounds closer to a young Anderson than Anderson now is to a young Anderson...it won't be exactly, and live, when vocal chords get tired after long touring...This guy sounds great!

  • sorry....it just completely pales in comparison. It's ok at best....I'm a little upset with Chris and Steve thinking that this would actually be good enough to take on the road.....REally? With the amount of fucking dedicated YES fans?

  • Brrrrr! Very bad!

  • This is terrible...

  • somebody shoot that singer.....now!!

  • I like Rick's son (one of many..), but I really don't like the singer. Every video I've seen with him he's out of pitch. I really don't understand why they took him. He does have a nice and warm tone, but the pitch, well.

  • Horror video. Benoit is out of tune. It is a poison to my ears.

  • @luismasironi ?are you talking to me? Turn of the light... you couldn't do it for yourself... I think ...?

  • @luismasironi

Sorry friend, but you are "out of tune"!

Veeery similar to Mr. Anderson. It's very difficult to live performing.

  • Horror video. i hate it. Benoit is out of tune. It is a poison to my ears.

  • Miss Jon but this guy is is pretty good, people should just enjoy it, at least their on tour and have an album coming out!

  • Si Jon no quiere..eso es asi y nada mas...pero Howe y Squire tienen derecho a seguir creando,,no lo creen.

  • Que carajo,si YES sigue alguien tiene que cantar........o que..

  • I wanted to like it, but wow! Bad. And boring too. The once great Steve Howe, I dunno. He played do, re, mi, and fa. Did he get a so in there? Not sure. He was playing so fast, you see. If he has arthritis and bills to pay, he does this. Otherwise, no explanation. He was magic once.

  • I wonder who got Chris Steve and Alan to join this Tibute Band.

  • camon' Jon is not anymore in conditions to tour again. a pity, but that is the reality.

Benoit is not pretending to be Jon Anderson, and he is doing a great job. He surely loves Jon Anderson more than anyone else in the world.

Thanks him we still can listen the energy of Yessongs alive.

  • I´m happy that yes is still alive and kickin` but. Realise. Jon Anderson. Is the voice of Yes. I don´t know why he´s not singing there anymore. This David guy does ok..but I miss Jon.

  • I think everyone should just be happy that SOMEONE is still playing Yes's music.

  • Alan White and Bill Bruford are not in discussion : Bill doesn't enjoy Yes for a many time, while Alan at now is a member of these leaven't never Yes.

Also Jon is Jon and Benoit is not Jon. This is the cause that Yes without Jon are finished , and i'm afraid but that's so!

  • Hmm, not Yes for me..he was awful this Benoit dude.

  • Can't wait until Jon, Rick, Trevor and Bill go to the studio and start touring next year. THIS here is not YES. This here is NO (way).

  • Honestly, I like Benoits voice. He has Jon Anderson's pitch....and O. Wakeman is definitely a Wakeman. It's like watching Rick in his best years! I'm gonna see them in 2 weeks, and enjoy my show.

  • I won't argue about Benoit's voice (he's okay, could be better), but his stage presence is nonexistent compared to Jon. Oliver Wakeman is almost like his dad sent back through time.

  • Dude is doing a good job you have to admit. Not to mention I have always wanted to see 'Onward' live. Tormato is one of my favs

  • Yes....STOP playing without Jon. Really Benoit can't sing a single note right.

  • Yes....STOP playing without Jon

  • Comment removed

  • why can't i find a version of Onward with John Anderson. Although this guy is the best replacement. love this song.

  • @TheWarrior74

Jon never sang Onward live. Yes never performed the song in concert until Benoit suggested it.

  • @curiousted

Are you sure? Have you watched the Keys to ascension video from 1996..

  • @curiousted cuckoo cuckoo! youtube video by yestopographic73 onward -1996 the ultimate perfomance of onward with jon singing and steve howe's amazing acoustic intro- get your fact's right curiousted!!!

  • @TheWarrior74 what a noob............

  • I don't get why people are complaining about the lineup, it was a fantastic show, maybe you shouldhave been there...

  • Should be... "the remaining YES presents"...

  • I like the guy... but until the harmonies joined in Benoits singing more than a bit flat on this one - usually he nails it.

Never saw flat singing (to this degree) with Jon, but life, and Yes goes on I guess.

  • This obviously is just for the cash. This is certainly not Yes. Not even close to any of their various permutations down through the years. This is really sad.

    Just end it gracefully.

  • @Freenetnow

I HAVE SEEN COUNTLESS COMMENTS ABOUT HOW THIS IS BETTER THAN NO YES. SORRY ITS NOT. I SAW THIS 90 MIN. SHOW IN 08, AND JUST LEFT WITH, THIS IS WHAT YES HAS BECOME?

IF ITS OK FOR ASS AND ASS SR. TO GET SOMEONE TO SING LIKE JON, WHY CAN'T JON GET A COVER BAND AND DO THE SAME THING.

JIMI HAWN CAN SOUND JUST LIKE STEVE. ASK STEVE, HE DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT WAS JIMI ON THE UNION ALBUM.

THE"MR SHERWOOD" COULD DO ALL OF IT!!

IM JUST WAITING FOR JON, TREVOR AND RICK TO DO THEIR THING!!

  • @RICHARDTRICHMOND I agree. But hey nobody is making people still go to shows like this. I may be wrong, maybe it's for the love of playing. I hope so. But to call it Yes is just wierd to me.

  • As a heard core Yes fan of 36 years, I can see how they've chosen to do what they're doing.

Benoit is not Jon, and never will be, yet if you check out other recordings, he does a decent job. Perhaps when his contract is up, Jon can come back ~ even if to merely make an album with extremely limited touring. This in itself may be just a dream, but it's all we can hope for.

    Peace from Seattle.

  • @pleased9

I DOUBT JON WANTS TO COME BACK NOW.

HOWE AND SQUIRE HAVE SHOWN JON A TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT WITH THIS CRAP. STEVES COMMENTS, THE NEW ALBUM WILL NOT INCLUDE JON. WELL THEN YOU BETTER NOT CALL IT A YES ALBUM, YOU DICKS.

JON AND RICK ARE TOURING AND WILL HAVE A ALBUM AND DVD THIS YEAR OR EARLY 2011.

    NEW MUSIC!!!!!

JON, RICK AND TREVOR AND 4TH EX-YES MAN ARE TALKING.

I SAW THIS IN 08, JUST BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS TEMP., BUT NO. JON GOT THE BOOT!!!

WILL SEE JON SEPT 10 IN NC.

  • @RICHARDTRICHMOND ~~~~ Sad, but true. Jon solo is worth seeing. He's got the Pro Tools thing down.

  • LOL I could tell the keyboard player was related to Rick...looks so much like him.

  • does NOT sound remotely close to Jon

  • buahhhhhhh

  • its ridiculous how people are complaining about the new yes. i mean yeah its not the same, but its not bad. its still Yes. its just the newer generation of yes. yes formed back in the day, you cant expect the same members forever.

  • I didn't think Benoit David was the trouble. O.K.-so he's not Jon...but he gave the show I saw a lot of energy. The fact that Rick's son is so damn mediocre a keyboardist was for me the last straw.I mean with all the talent in the world-who would gladly jump in and play with these guys-they settle for shit. I mean Ygor Khoreshev could play circles around Oliver Wakeman...remember Ygor?- and they could have gotten better than him as well!!!

  • @Lewis1key ..they have Oliver just because of legacy. Being Wakeman and having the long hair, gives the unknowing the impresion that it's Rick that came back fom the past. He plays along, and people don't notice his less-than-stellar skills. He even does a solo and everyone seems to like it. It's like Rick all over again for them.

  • @Lewis1key This is correct- wakeman jr is behind on everything time-wise, not on the leading edge of Rick's notes, which are not that accurate to begin with.(.The Samples are juvenile) ,then Alan has to change to simpler accents which are Now 2 steps removed from Bill's leading edge on bill's material. So with Yes material This CAN'T happen..It seems to get lost every few bars..

  • I love Jon Anderson's singing and vision, but he has moved on, and is not healthy enough for the continuous stress.

  • @jpirard Jon has been touring since 2009 and Yes has been off the road since Jon has gotten better. ("May 15th 2009 Jon Anderson, Hi you YES fans out there, I realize that Chris Alan and Steve are touring as YES now, but I won't be up there singing, 'they' would rather carry on as they are in their version of YES...I do feel sad about it of course, but it's their choice"). Jon Anderson on Facebook

  • esse cara é tão bom quanto J.Anderson.

  • It maybe the best we can get, Steve is still an amazing virtuoso and the rest are all good. Jon may not be able to handle the nightly committments of the tour after his almost fatal illness.

  • This is not Yes! The are three guys who used to be in Yes, the son of the best keyboard player Yes once had and a Jon Anderson wannabe.

  • This clown sucks

  • Chris Squire looks like Captain Kangaroo.

  • Benoît David rocks.

    Jon Anderson rocks.

    Trevor Horn rocks.

  • Benoit sounds great on this and I hope he sticks around a long time. I'm afraid that because Anderson is now part of Yes History and people just need to accept that he won't be back.

  • What?

  • This is the first time I see the band without Jon and quite frankly I have to say...who the f*** cares!...JAM!

  • are you kidding me. m me, yes no jhon anderson and rick wakman there.

    they are the roots

to finish to complete the great drummer buford bil.

this here is not yes I knew

  • @tutubinha

    YES?

    NO!

    WHY NOT?

    BECOUSE...

    BETTER

    small

    "yes"

    or

    BIG "NO"

  • @tutubinha well it has been over 30 years since they started. I think it's fair to give them a break some of the time. At least the music is still out there and can be seen live with original members.

  • @tutubinha Rick wasn't a founder member of Yes; in fact he joint the band in their 4th studio album and he only played in 8 out of 19 Yes albums... I also consider him as Yes's best keyboard player, but Oliver is great too, and he can play just like his dad when he wants to.

About Brufford, he is great and I love his work, but Alan White has been Yes's drummer for over 30 years (Bill played in the band for less than 5 years)

  • @RogelioA Jon's case is different. It was hard for me to imagine Yes without Jon (although he didn't sing in the album Drama), but I saw them live with Benoit and it was a damn stunning show!

  • @tutubinha Man they still put on an amazing show. THAT IS FOR CERTIN!

  • as far as I know Chris Squire owns the YES trademark. That means that without CS, the other members of the band cannot claim to be the YES. that's why Andreson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe became ABWH for a while, before joining again to the band. so YES = Chris Squire + whoever else HE says. That seems unfair, but this is how the merciless law of trademarks works.

  • Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I agree. Jon had has an aura that spreads throughout the music, the band and even the audience. Normally, I don't believe in that sort of crap, but I've experienced it many times with Yes. No disrespect to the other members of Yes, but Jon's presence is such an integral part of the music and missed so much by the fans that he should be up there with the band, especially since he's offered to come back now that he's recovered. "Contract agreements" sound like an excuse of some kind to me.

  • I cant believe they did this. This is not a band to put togther for a 40th anniversary. This is poor.

  • Benoit is Good but not is Anderson

    Yes is with Jonh Anderson

  • Benoit was spot on when I saw them in Copenhagen. It was all round a great concert -good chemistry/vibe/energy.

  • Yes rules!!

The author of this video has an incredible Camera!! At full screen I feel like I'm there in the crowd!

    Thanks for the video.

  • A difficult song for this line up to attempt. It sounds to me as if Adam duffs at the beginning of his solo.

Thanks for posting the video... it was enjoyable

  • "It sounds to me as if Adam duffs at the beginning of his solo."... Takes after his dad, then. ;-) I agree that I am pleasantly surprised by how this line-up sounds. I have to say as a Yes fan in my late thirties that it's good to see them out on the road in any guise. Jon Anderson is not Yes. Yes are my favourite band, but it's nice to see them not play the same set over again. I am glad that they've taken a leaf out of Rush's book in that respect. Now we just need Rabin back... I'm running...

  • Benoit does well enough

  • well, you may choose any part of their activity...world is free for all of us...

  • @MrOscarWild what the fuck kind of comment was that?

  • @MrOscarWild you are one of the dumbest living person i have ever seen.

  • I've been there!! It was a great concert !

  • excellent, wish I was there!

  • So the rest of the band is irrelevant? Some of the ignorance displayed by the Yes fan base is rather surprising to me.

  • Check out the 1996 version from San Louis Obispo and the listen to this.

Its on Keys to Ascention. Y"ll get mad!

  • Steve and Chris are realy cheap. And than choose a song like this. Long live Jon. As a cover band it's ok but to sell it like Yes. Maybe also another live dvd and the 20th best off set?

  • "Yes", yes you are wright...byt I'm stii in love with Howe and his guitars... Benoit?... no comment

  • @Guido1470 HOW CAN A YES FAN SAY STEVE HOWE AND CHRIS SQUIRE ARE CHEAP!? They are two of the original members!? Its pretty impressive at their ages they they still perform. Yes is sucks that Jon Anderson dosnt want to play. but still!! it is Yes just revamped. Steve how and Chris Squire and even Alan White the drummer are original and the keyboards is Rick Wakemans SON Oliver so really only the vocalist is an outsider! I saw them on june 20th and they were fantastic!
