I enjoy this game, but it's the small stuff that gets under my skin. The rider's calves and heels, for instance. Or the horse's lead. Elbows are also a major point for me. The horse's physical construction is one of the best I've seen, however. And while there are some obvious conformational faults, there is nothing that overly distracts from the game.

@TheSanthuri No, you get to make more than 1 horse as you excel in the levels. You take care, train, and compete with your horse all while trying to make a strong bond. :3 The only thing you can't do is breed. Then we have the three-day-event feature which is why your training your horse, to become the best chu can be. :)

How cares about the riders position? it's a game. I have this game. Yes, It is fun to play, it's not crappy, but I agree that it should have a free ride because it's boring when you finish it.

What I DO like is that I ENCOURAGE not MAKE the horse jump. I have disabilites that effect my reflexes. Many horse games are difficult for me because I have to hit the button at an exact second. This one I didnt. THAT WAS AWESOME.

Many game makers dont consider disabilities and therefore give no alternate options.

This one did and I PRAISE them for that.

@JennyferJ99 I know your comment was a year ago but I just wanted to say that game developers can't take disabilities into account. There are so many disabilties, imagine if they tried to make a game that would be fitting for most. That game would be horrible.

@imagineaboringlife True that. I just meant that there should be easy, medium, and hard difficulty modes. It would be a help. (Actually, I had to go back and see what I said. I had forgotten. haha) Anyway, I have a real horse now so I gave these games to my niece (age 14). I still have Gallop & Ride. No jumping from a trot at all and horses jump automatically. Also it has BEAUTIFUL scenery for the free rides!! It is the best. Try it out (if you have a Wii). Anyway, have a great week!!

The only problem I have with the jumping that they zigzagged some combinations. In real-life combos are NOT zigzagged. They are ALWAYS a straight line. Why wont they give me 2- and 3-star CC courses rather than use PARTS of the 4-star?

In real-life SJ and CC there is a time allowed and a limit to how many refusals. You're not allowed just ALL the time you need or as many tries as it takes to get your horse to jump.

Oh, yeah... they are lazy.

This is a beautiful game, but needs gameplay work.

I love the jumping on this game but I HATE the Dressage! There IS NO serpentine long/short. You dont go from trot to medium trot! A medium trot is just a normal trot!!! It just means that you are not doing an extended or collected trot.

The graphics are BEAUTIFUL but I dont like braiding horses' manes!

And why no free ride???

You can do serpentine long and short,just wait until you get on a higher level.And there is different trots too.

What I meant was that in real-life PRO Dressage there is NO serpentines long/short. Of course there are different trots. In real life the normal trot and medium trot ARE THE SAME. The medium trot is a term used to tell riders that they will do a NORMAL trot NOT an extended or collected.

I want a horse game that is TRULY authentic. The game makers get NFL games right and NBA games right and NASCAR games right. So why dont they get HORSE games right?

I think they are lazy.

There are actually 4 levels to all of the gaits. There is collected, working (which is what I think you're calling normal), medium, and extended.

@JennyferJ99i know this comment is old but i totally agree and they never get it right...i have lots of horse games, as i love horses and i find it amazing that they can get amazing graphics and movement etc for war games and other sport games but never riding :/ after all these years im STILL looking for a horse game with lots to do even after finishing competitions and good graphics for the horse and the rider...also the riders position...i mean..come on horse games arent just for little kids!

It came out in 2004, I believe. If you're thinking of buying it, see if you can rent it from your local movie/game rental place, because the graphics are amazing, but the game is horribly short. I beat it the day it arrived.

Well, there are the training courses for cross country - one for each difficulty level (well, basically it's the same course, but it gets longer and more difficult, when you go from 2 star training to 3 star and 4 star training). Those have jumps though. I haven't explored the 'ride with friends' feature yet, so I don't know whether that allows for some sort of noncompetitive riding. The game is good, though, and the competitions are fun and not too difficult :).
