The story isn't about which team his loyalty belonged to because his loyalty, first and foremost, was to his daughter. So let's just end the hatred and commend the man for doing what most of today's "stars" wouldn't.
The writing was on the wall Renegadereplicant. Everyone saw the Lakers were about to win a ton of championships and so did he. I'd give up $8 million to win another couple of championships as well.
@usteeler81 Clearly you aren't getting it are not aware of what he said. He said in an interview that the best hospitals were in the east. Milkwakee having the best hospital. I don't see him playing for the Bucks do you? He used his daughter's illness to get out of Utah and back with the Lakers.
I don't care what anyone says, Derek Fisher is a liar and a traitor to the Jazz. He said himself he was only concerned about the care for his daughter, and told Larry Miller he wanted to get close to a hospital that would give his daughter the care she needed. Well, he said personally both hospitals were in the east...NOT LOS ANGELES. Translated: He lied to get out of his contract in Utah to go back to L.A. Man still disgusts me to this day.
@lcromy you arew seriously going to ruin this incredable video. He said the best hospitals were in LA and he said he never thought the Lakers would be an option. He was prob thinkinhg about Clippers or Kings and then the Lakes jumped into the mix.
@miked0424 No he did not say that. I remember watching the Jazz very closely in 2008, and I can assure you that was not the case. You can pretend to say whatever you want but I know I'm right and you are wrong.
@lcromy well idk whats actually right but whether this is the most hated person in the world, the fact that he could keep his composure through everything that happened is amazing...whether you like him or not this is still a great moment for him and you have to have felt good for him
He gave up $8 million to go to LA. He signed for only $14 million for 3 years. In other words, he had a much better contract with the Jazz and would've made a lot more money in the long run.
He didn't lie. Get over yourself. He's a class act. And I'm not even a LA fan (I hate the Lakers, in fact).

@lcromy it wasn't that, it was for his daughter LA got a better hospital than SLC for those types of operations.
