The new EVO X sucks when it comes to performance too. They failed to improve on the Evolution IX at all. The horse did go up but so did the wieght of the car. The new Sti is I hate to say it a much better performing car then the new Evo.
Subaru needs to red-out the tails and give their customers a benefit of a doubt by making it come stock with a more aggressive alignment and slightly more stiff suspension. Perhaps a 13:1 steering rack like the JDM version....
After thinking about it, it needs new headlights and a rear-end makeover and then it would look great. If only the production car came with that spoiler...!

When I first saw the new Impreza I thought, "holy hell, what have they done?" It looked like a focus. Then I bought WRX(not STi). The sedan looks incredible in dark gray with the premium package. I now like it better than the old models. Its a much better package. Give it a chance. Needs sway bars though.
hmmm go take a look in person. They are beefy, really wide body with overflared wheel arches almost if it's saying, get out of my way, I'm muscle... The 08s has certainly grown on me, hence I have purchased an 08 WRX. I am very happy. And for people that still find it ugly like a Daewoo, Focus or a talon after seeing them in person, you won't be finding the performace ugly when the Kia look alike murders your car up a hill.

I own an 06 STI which I much prefer over this new design. I don't think anyone buys an STI because it is beautifull but more because it's radical in design and has great performance. It is also a great track event car (not the 1/4 mile crap). Also the frogeye wrx were the ugliest of the bunch and the 04/05 had the best looking nose in my opinion.
Come one, it's not like previous wrx models were beautiful. The 02-03 models were the last of the real cars. This new one is ok, but do people actually think the 04-07 models were cool? Gold rims and a 3ft spoiler. That's just cheese ball. New sedan looks ok though. The hatch is all about performance though, and apparently gets the job done.
So far, I have only seen one 2008 WRX on the road. It was a white sedan being driven by a 50-year-old Asian man. I guess that's the new demographic Subaru is going for with this design. Pretty sad. RIP WRX.

And it doesn't look like a KIA, it looks like the front end came from a Camry and the back end came from a Lexus SUV. Why is that? Oh, because they did. Same feeling here. Evo X base model is rumored at between 30-32k. No way I'll buy a 35K base STI if that's the case. You add just a few options, it goes into 335i range. That's not cool.
36K is loaded. It´s the same price as the others have been--unloaded is $33,500 (like the 06/07)(on paper). They´re not including the BBS though, they are optional which frankly is bull shit. In reality, dealers will be selling them with the BBS, though, for around $32,500 and up (not including options like sat nav.) Also, you need to buy from a dealership where they´re not a popular purchase.
Honestly bru, listen though, they're not going to be able to sell the car for that much. Mitsu marked the Evo IX MR's at $37K which is around $41K out the door. Do you actually think they sold any of them for that much? Hardly. Dealers say they flew off the lot... they did, after they sold them for $1-2K below MSRP. I agree, though, if you're going to by an STI you better know where you're going. If you need SAT nav then you need a minivan.
Maybe it's just me but I don't give a shyt what ppl think about how my car looks. If the car has the performance and is fun to drive im in. Plus I think if it doesn't look so attractive it will surprise ppl even more once they find out what it can do.

The only reason for the body change is for WRC. So that WRC can you use a better chasis on dirt. If you ever watched WRC all the top cars are hatchbacks that had been kicking Subaru's ass all day. I think change can improve there chances.

Man, a car at 35K should provide more than just 310/290. No way people pay 10k more than a Speed3 to just get 50 extra HP. Subaru messes their pricing big time.
310 from a stock engine, all wheel drive, controllable differential, BBS wheels, navigation, all standard. It's the same as the other models. It costs about 10K to get a solid 70 HP through mods anyway.

Come one, it's not like previous wrx models were beautiful. The 02-03 models were the last of the real cars. This new one is ok, but do people actually think the 04-07 models were cool? Gold rims and a 3ft spoiler. That's just cheese ball. New sedan looks ok though. The hatch is all about performance though, and apparently gets the job done.

So far, I have only seen one 2008 WRX on the road. It was a white sedan being driven by a 50-year-old Asian man. I guess that's the new demographic Subaru is going for with this design. Pretty sad. RIP WRX.

The more I read about and look at the car, the more fascinated I become. I think it's a wonderful piece of work! I mean it's a hatchback because the body style is design reduce the polar momentum of inertia, aidng in snappy change of direction. This car is all performance,Man!

I think this car is awesome, or else I wouldn't have posted this video, but goddamit, subaru is pissing me off: BBS aren't standard anymore, and the interior is overdone. Imagine all the weight loss after taking off all of the pointless options. Crap! This car is meant to take turns and burn clutch, not accommodate senior citizens (i love you grandma). Anyone?

It is said new STi recommends 93 gas, not even 91. That just sux. Why don't they build some H6 cars? 93 gas stations are hard to find.

I'm from Poland and I have seen this car in subrau saloon because i have two ones in my city. And I'm not the owner of M3 but I have 2000 impreza gt.
For clearness, shit mixed with flour looks awfull, and we also have media markt in my counrtry.
New impreza looks like KIA mixed with lanos, and this is not only my opinion dude.
So take care and go kill yourself if you like new impreza...

No buddy, you're mistaken, you've seen the WRX, not the STI. Although you may think they look similar, they're not. And it doesn't look like a KIA, it looks like the front end came from a Camry and the back end came from a Lexus SUV. Why is that? Oh, because they did. If you knew anything about Subaru you would know that Toyota bought up a bunch of their stock because Subaru was having financial issues after the 06-07 models because no one bought them (I don't wonder why).

In Poland this car is verry popular and every owners I know are satisfied. New lancer also doesn't look well, but it looks better.
And I think that new impreza STI looks similar to WRX.
Conclusion is one: Don't buy new subaru impreza" :P

Yeah, I used to be into the new EVO more than the new STI, but the more I look at it(seeing a new wrx in person helped a lot) the more I realize that it is closer looking to a real rally car(hatchback) than the EVO(sedan).

i know subaru's have never been prety cars, but at least the wrx,sti and wrc models looked agresive and if i'm gonna be coughing up almost 30k for one i want it to look like a subaru i hate that remodeling your entier line ever 3 or 4 years like toyota or even worse like audi i lost track of witch model is witch but subaru's are awkward but badass cars it's like making a vw beetle into something more mainstream

Same feeling here. Evo X base model is rumored at between 30-32k. No way I'll buy a 35K base STI if that's the case. You add just a few options, it goes into 335i range. That's not cool.

36K is loaded. It´s the same price as the others have been--unloaded is $33,500 (like the 06/07)(on paper). They´re not including the BBS though, they are optional which frankly is bull shit. In reality, dealers will be selling them with the BBS, though, for around $32,500 and up (not including options like sat nav.) Also, you need to buy from a dealership where they´re not a popular purchase.

No one is going to use an Sti as a delivery vehicle or to take the kids to the Grand Canyon. :)
So like I said...
36K = about 40K out the door with tax and lic.
That's BMW territory and this thing is just too ugly to even think about.

Honestly bru, listen though, they're not going to be able to sell the car for that much. Mitsu marked the Evo IX MR's at $37K which is around $41K out the door. Do you actually think they sold any of them for that much? Hardly. Dealers say they flew off the lot... they did, after they sold them for $1-2K below MSRP. I agree, though, if you're going to by an STI you better know where you're going. If you need SAT nav then you need a minivan.

Maybe it's just me but I don't give a shyt what ppl think about how my car looks. If the car has the performance and is fun to drive im in. Plus I think if it doesn't look so attractive it will surprise ppl even more once they find out what it can do.

The only reason for the body change is for WRC. So that WRC can you use a better chasis on dirt. If you ever watched WRC all the top cars are hatchbacks that had been kicking Subaru's ass all day. I think change can improve there chances.

The SPEC is out in LA autoshow: 310 HP, 290 TQ, sold @ 35K MSRP.
Man, a car at 35K should provide more than just 310/290. No way people pay 10k more than a Speed3 to just get 50 extra HP. Subaru messes their pricing big time.

310 from a stock engine, all wheel drive, controllable differential, BBS wheels, navigation, all standard. It's the same as the other models. It costs about 10K to get a solid 70 HP through mods anyway.
