@RogerMurdock EVH is one of the greatest guitar players in history! I'm not saying Dick Dale is bad, Dick Dale is the man! But EVH completely changed the way people view the guitar. He created a totally different sound than what anyone had heard before. His use suspended chords in rock music, effects pedals, harmonics and overall melody was something nobody had ever seen. I'll agree with you on Clapton though... Great song writer, but not a strong guitarist or singer.

Sorry to spoil your fun but jimi hendrix never strung his guitar backwards :P he played a right handed guitar, strung left handed in the left handed position. so the only real hardship he fa\ce while playing guitar was having the volume and tone knobs right under his arm.
