  • This is my favorite version of this song. You guys are amazing :)

  • They R raw!!!

    but more scottish please...

  • no scottish = no good!

  • This is so beautiful.

  • Can i just steal all your voices please? thanks!

  • I'm doing this song with my quartet for our literary competition this March. I'm constantly listening to this recording. AMAZING blend. I get goose bumps still... Great job, guys!

  • Nice job with the Realtime arrangement.

  • OH MY GOSH!!! me and my choir are doing this and it is amazing I love this song and it is weird for me to like the songs that we are doing in choir cause my choir director is kind of horrible at picking good songs. But this was definitely a good song. :).... huh... My director has been picking a lot of good songs lately... maybe her doctor prescribed her marijuana for the horrible disease called stickupyourbutt which is a common disease in teachers... if you know what I'm saying... :)

  • @FRogGoNeCrayZ10121 Great Song and brilliant arrangement. Best of luck to your choir. Take a look also at Pfizerpfonics performance on youtube.

  • I absolutely love this arrangement!!

  • This is heavenly to the ears. And not too bad on the eyes either ;)

.....even if you are from Iowa.

  • One of the best renditions I have heard. I love the harmonies and I love your voices and you blend very well together. Keep up the good work. A Capella music is GORGEOUS!!!! especially for folk songs.

  • Well sung, but where are the bow ties?

  • One of the best renditions I've heard of this song.

  • Horrible purnunciations

  • They don't seem to reach the i in dai quickly enough, so it sounds like "DIE, DIE! *stabstabstab*" =D

And this is essentially the version I sing every year, but it's just some guys singing the girl's part in a good octave.

  • @timaeus22222 In this song it is very easy to do that, my high shcool choir sang this song for all-state and a few of the basses, i included had a little problem with it until the night of the performance.

  • I just went to ISU for a visit and I'm so totally going to audition for this group!

  • lovely but add the scottish accent, it sounds abit wrong a little but its awsome

  • Wooww you guys are unreal!

  • amazing... respect.... by a base from the best youth choir in germany ^^

  • Amazing performance!

  • Omfg the soloists voice is amazinggggg <3 I love male singers xD

  • Congratulations to all but in special to the fourth boy from the right to left. Nice voice!!

And he looks like Ringo Star when he was a young man.

Lovely group, I'm fan of you.

  • Could you tell me where I actually could get the score of this lovely arrangment? I'm ready to purchase.

  • @EnsembleVocalWesley you can buy SATB or TTBB at this link on the JW Pepper website

  • I love the baryton guy at 2:17, very nice voice. Well done boys.

  • Lovely harmonies and a great version but I agree with PwEmaciation, not in a proper scottish accent means it only gets a 9/10 for me!

  • Wonderful rendition of the song, spectacular potency in the main singer's voice.

  • you guys are an inspiration!

  • Great Jonathan Quick!

  • With or Without Scottish accents they sing very well. Amazing! Congratulations to all.

    Tks

  • Good Tenor solo, check out great soloists also on Youtube Pfizerpfonics Cork

  • @1carrigdhoubh Its not a tenor solo, its a bass solo

  • @EorRompage7 It's a tenor solo. But what's a "purnunciations"?, I haven't come across that before.

  • I enjoyed this very much. Thank you!

  • Good job... Pretty good intonation and alright dynamics.... but the thing that struck me the most was it's too Americanized. This song needs to be in a Scottish accent, hands down.

  • /watch?v=OZpKMz_q_24

For those that want to hear it done in a more Scottish way.

  • These guys are amazing. I totally just put you on my Itunes =) Good job!

  • Very beautiful. It's a different version/arrange as the first time I heard this song was with The King's Singers. Amazing! Congratulations to this group

  • In response to the person who said this version sounded too 'inspirational' and not solemn enough, I think you should go listen to Benny goodman's version of this with jazz singer Martha Tilton! I do agree that they could have taken the tempo slightly slower to better convey that they understood what they were singing, but I think their handling of this song was very good and the emotion was very poignant. They seemed very earnest and emotionally present especially the 2nd soloist, which was v

  • u guys are beautiful singers, so nothing against you personally, i just don't like this version of the song. it sounds like a happy song and it actually sounded inspirational, but the actual song is the exact opposite.

  • @MrUnit666 during the 1745 Rebellion a soldier on his way back to Scotland during the 1745-6 retreat from England wrote this song. The "low road" is a reference to the Celtic belief that if someone died away from his homeland then the fairies would provide a route of this name for his soul to return home.

  • @MrUnit666 u should look it up if u want a more detailed history of the song. my point was just that its not supposed to sound inspirational.

  • THANK YOU for this. Loch Lomond is one of my favorite Irish songs and this version is so beautiful and incredibly moving. You guy are very talented and you do great justice to this beautiful arrangement. Thank you, again.

  • @sophieangeline1 ARGH! sorry, just a bit cringy that Scots on the whole are so patriotic, and you just called their prize export Irish! haha Sorry, just wanted to say that the highlands are in Scotland and there is a strong bagpipe tradition there as well as singing. :)

  • awesome!

  • I was a high school member in the ISU honor choir that got to view this live. I've never felt so taken away by music before this very performance of this song. I was a junior and I made it again this year! I hope they perform again!

  • I did this in all-state choir last year & it sounded terrific...but I think it truly sounds better w/ an all men's choir like yours! I was just blown away by this! :) -Katie

  • Best thing to ever come from ISU

  • chills. i did this and it wasn't nearly as good as yours.

  • Nice singing

I sing with the Vancouver Welsh Mens Choir and we are most fortunate to have the arranger, Jonathan Quick, as our Music Director

  • @alantucker1 lucky!!! This is my favorite arrangement of Loch Lomond. So jealous.

  • I dunno why, but I cannot enjoy this song without the Scottish accents.

Hearing "Take", "Highland", ect with western accents makes me cringe.

Still a very good job, musically speaking.

  • that was beautifully in tune, unlike all the other versions on youtube which are tereeerrible

  • awesome. would be better if it uses scottish accent. love the arrangement

  • Good jobs, guys. Really. Only thing I would say would have been to put more accent into it. "Loch" is not prmnounced, "Lock" but "Lochhhh", like you are, excuse me, hocking something up from your throat. Like Hebrew or Yiddish or even German. Otherwise, beautifully done.

  • more bass!

  • We're doing this song for the NMEA all-state choir this year! This exact arrangement. I love this song. They are so good! Good job guys!!!

  • @blondeboy666 Nebraska All-State? My audition was today. I'm addicted to this song.

  • @pantherb22 Did you make it? But I am, too!

  • @blondeboy666 - yepp. haha. (: 3 weeks man.

  • @pantherb22 Nice! Good job! I didn't quite make it :( made alternate.

  • that was amaaaaaaaaaazzziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinngg!!!!

  • work the bass vocal

  • was erick royer ever in this group? he told us about this and he's now my music teacher

  • Beautiful, makes me appreciate a great male choral ensemble more than I already do.

  • im in concert choir & we are singing this amazing song....♥ IT altoz rock

  • This is very, very good!!

  • wonderful.... <3

  • oh my god! alto pride even if it's a guy singing! hahaha :) and man, he makes a convincing alto!

I mean, for this song I was converted to a second soprano, but usually I sing first alto. it's so cool to hear the alto part on top!

    the ending was weird.

  • The second soloist... no words. Loved it.

  • I sang this for ICDA all-state choir last year, but it sounds so much more impressive when it's just guys singing it :) -Katie

  • You guys are really tight. Great balance and blend. Wish I could see you live.

  • beautiful version, one of, if not the best I've heard in a long time

  • i love boys.

  • Absolutely fantastic... It gives me the chills.

  • amazing :) greatttt jobbb

  • Dudes can sing. Great job guys!

  • Thanks for putting this up! I was at the Honor Choir and I was hoping someone filmed this.
