  • Those Damn cats!

  • What abt a curacy, its important as i think

  • very cool slingshot can not wait to see your next video

  • Joerg, in your home country, is it legal to hunt small game with slingshots? I would think with a little bit of work, this weapon would be excellent for short distance small game hunting:)

  • cats :D

  • My daughter loved both the cats and slingshots. Keep up the great work. Have you ever thought about manufacturing these in bulk? I would love to be a distributor!! :)

  • Hello Joe .......I love your designes, and im working on making a slinshot rifle myself. May I sugest you screw a disc magnet to the release mechanism which would hold the ball in position while drawing the bands. I would be very interest in watching the ball at the time of release in slow motion at I think that when you get to the half way position down the ball, the ball would have a tendency to rise above the line of fire.

  • @freedom2able Magnet works, but only for steel balls, not for lead. And yes, the ball rises (some), but that is reproducable so the accuracy is not affected.

  • slingshot gay

  • You are awesome

  • those kittens are having the time of their lives in the background :)

  • Is you gun based off the AA-12 shotgun design?

  • Now shoot your cat

  • I like the new desighn!

  • very nice. if you want to sell it give me a call.

  • i seen this video went out and bought a slingshot, tried it out on my cat hes not moving has anyone had the same experience, will he be alright ?

  • @l0vin999 Question is if YOU will be alright. Hard to say from here what would be more helpful, a good evening class in decent trollwork, or a a lengthy treatment in a mental facility. I suggest you check out both.

  • Do you ever hunt with sling shots?

  • @threeque No... I used to, as a kid. But the hunter's sadness was getting too much. I don't frown upon hunting, as it is necessary and may well put food on an otherwise empty table, but I buy my meat in the supernarket now...

  • @JoergSprave I have had the same experience as a youth. Much to sad. Can people hunt with slingshots though? Does the animal just get hurt. not killed?

  • @threeque Small game (rabbits, pheasants and so on) are taken every day with slingshots. For larger game, I don't think a slingshot is the appropriate weapon for hunting in a humane fashion. Don't forget to check the local legal situation first, might save you from some serious trouble.

  • @JoergSprave I am just curious, not at all a hunter. I love your designs and craftsmanship by the way.

  • a cats are great. they look to see if you shot something

  • @Fresno1199 These cats are as cute as they are fearless. True members of the Slingshot Channel team :)

  • haha lol at the cats in the background at 1:40 - 1:50 :)

  • you should give it rails for attachments

  • To be honest, I don't know anymore whether I watch this channel for the slingshots, or the cats.

  • Will your cats be hosting the upcoming videos?

  • Lol i was waching the cats playin in da tree ;)

  • Excellent sling shot. Another job well done Joerg. Will be glad to see the how-to tutorial.

  • i think the cats are plotting to take over your channel.

  • Awwww look at the playful cats and great work as always

  • Can't wait to see the finished version. Very cool design!

  • make a slingshot that shoots cat toys.

  • Great design! Along with a great answer. Boredom will never stand a chance against that slingshot crossbow.

  • Haha your cats are used to your hobby! they kept on playing after you shot that....THING O.o"

  • I have one question :) Is it possible to kill anyone with that slingshot?

  • @ememek96 I don't know about people, and strongly advise you to never shoot at living creatures, but you can certainly use it to kill boredom :)

  • Thanks Joerg. I enjoy everything you've built but this one will definitely be copied by me. Would there be any gain in power to add more rollers in a way that would give even more draw length. I'm interested in knowing if this could be used for hunting. I don't like guns and feel this would be as good as a crossbow. btw I would only hunt for survival.

  • "THING" FROM FANTASTIC FOUR!!!!

  • cats stole the show. sorry man...

  • @Eushawn20 Well, the truth is that the entire Slingshot Channel is a Cat Channel in disguise. :)

  • @JoergSprave haha well put sir

  • That must be a catnip tree..

  • lol the cats are going crazy...

  • Elegantly simple yet functional and powerful - excellent design.

  • Excellent stuff as usual!

  • Make it out of oak with oak pulleys on composite dowels. Use polished granite balls and this thing could pass through a scanner.

    Look out politicians!

  • I can't...stop...watching...the cats.....

  • So, hows the chainsaw sling shot coming along?

  • is there any certain source of inspiration you look to when you make these weapons? or do you just build them as they come to you while you live your everyday life?

  • 1:09 American guy talking

  • I enjoyed watching the cat way more than the crossbow thingy.

  • jorg I would let you try to shoot an apple off my head with that. or even a mustard seed. what? it's an honor to go down by strokes of genius.

  • the fact this guy is german makes his vids so much better

he seems like such a mad slingshot scientist

  • thumbs up if you watched the cats in the background and not the actual dude with the slingshot

  • Wait what did you say?

I was too busy watching you cat tango with the tree.

  • hey bald head grow some ball hairs

  • @bubzbeautychannel2 I just happen to like my "hairstyle" very much. I recently tried to remember when was the last time I had to sit in a barber shop, enduring the sickly sweet smell and the mindless blabbering. That was probably 15 years ago, and I did not miss that at all. Plus, Zombies can't grab me by the hair :)

  • Lots of cats = lots of targets ?

  • You forgot the front handle!!!!!!!

  • @rommeldude1 Just wait, all will be good.

  • Oh cats, always looking for attention :P

  • i bet he uses those cats for target practice

  • i like his targets fighting in the back there

  • AH KITTTTIIIIIESSSS!!!

  • How much power do your slingshots have compared to say a rifle?

  • @gandj19 Less energy, more momentum. Slingshot crossbows shoot very heavy bullets, but not nearly as fast as a firearm shoots a much lighter bullet.

  • Looks awesome! I want one!

  • Hopefully those cats stay away from the firing range, lol.

  • Mooks like the AA12 a little bit

  • Sorry if wrong where I use a translator.

  • Well here is closer to reality, but it is fun to catapult looked somehow silly.

Only now he has to trigger the other, with a loop on kozhetke to use the ammunition was not only steel balls is almost the same caliber, but the stones and the like.

  • Hey Joerg.. Awesome slingshot as usual.. could you use the roller design from the front of this to re-create your "record breaking foot slingshot"? I Bet you could destroy your previous record set with that using rollers to eliminate the dead play.

  • YES i was looking for a next project to build , this will be it !!!!!! Thanks Joerg !

  • Please don't press...DON'T PRESS!!

    ⇓⇓

  • thumbs up if you were paying attention to the cats.. and didn't hear anything.

  • Cats in the background kinda stole the show.

  • Yeap, for sure it's your best design! :-)

And the best I've seen for a frame-based slingshot ever.

This is the first time I see the size/effectiveness ratio make it worth carrying a "sling-x-bow". :-)

  • I am impressed. I think there is a place in the market for such a weapon. You should talk to a company to make and sell them for people who can't or won't make their own.

  • @Alienami I don't want to commercialize my hobby. If a company wants to produce it, that is fine, but I don't want to be a part of that. I have no need for taxes, complaints, deadlines and lawsuits. I just want to have fun.

  • @JoergSprave You are a true role model.

  • Looks Awsome! I can't wait to see the how to as well as some destruction. Maybe we'll see what it can do to a big ol' chunk of Ice.

  • I wonder if you could devise a way to cock the weapon with a mechanism like a lever that will draw back the bands.

  • @robinater No need for that, the stirrup allows you to pull back with both arms, not very hard.

  • 1:43 forget all the bad-ass slingshot junk he's talking about, that's a cat video!

  • if you put "cats" or "cat" in your tags you will get approx. 100,000 more views.

  • LOLz love it.

  • Keep the cats inside! They are distracting and inside they'd be safer!

  • Wow one hater really it probably a dog

  • Everyone watching this video is looking at the cats and thinking, "You done for"

  • the military need to hire you

  • How can anyone not like you?

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet thank you xx

  • The most interesting part of this video were the two cats playing in the background.

  • now TO ADD A aRROW holder and control...

Then add a fishing reel line holder and the FISH AND GAME wardens will come after you..

    Whats the range and accuracy??

  • now TO ADD A aRROW holder and control...

Then add a fishing reel line holder and the FISH AND GAME wardens will come after you..

  • COOL design but adding a stronger rubber band set won't it difficult to pull like you did on the crossbow? How about about adding a small winch say from a fishing rod?

  • @MrChaosHeadz Even with six bands per side (twice the rubber shown in the video), we're just talking 80lbs. Makes little sense to go higher, not with the 20mm steel balls. 80 lbs is manageable for average men without a winch.

  • Are you going to be selling these models? I would love to have one of those

  • @deforglory I don't sell, but I will make a how-to and publish the blueprints.

  • Did i watch a cat video?

  • I think, out of all the slingshots ive seen here, that one is my favorite

  • i cant wait until the tutorial. :) Great videos Jorg, keep up the good work.

  • Can't wait for this guy to make a Portal gun out of rubberbands and steel balls.

  • ps: Real men use toys as weapons..... :)

  • One wonders if a longer rubber with the anchor points further back would add to the speed or power of this slingshots as opposed to more bands of short rubber. Also, would non-tapered bands of rubber give more speed/power or are we counting on a faster rebound on the tapered ends?

  • @WeirdBrothersTV Sure, when the weapon is finished there will be slomos.

  • aaaah,soo sweet caattsss.... sweettt!!

  • I am waiting for the cats to take over and kick his ass...

  • boss sunglasses

  • I think it looks like and AUG. :D

  • Came for the slingshot, stayed for the cats

  • Coooooooooll... Miss the link to the howtos?

  • BANNED IN BRITAIN

  • Another great video. I look forward to the finished product. Btw the cats in the background stole the show (and I'm not even a fan of cats).

  • I thinks its another slingshot by the great master!

  • @WeirdBrothersTV Was too dark for the slomo cam already. Slomo videos need plenty of light.

  • your cats are hilarious

  • do you use rock maple wood?

  • CATTTTTTSSSSSSSSS

  • CRAZY CATS

  • thats my favorite design yet!

  • That is nice.....You are a true craftsmen.

  • @gimiesome You mean catsman. :P

  • @CoDissilly That too :-)

  • Funny thing is at the start hes calling the slingshot a "toy". But when hes says that he is going to paint it and such, he says: "It's going to be a fine weapon" =P

Wich reminds me, is it weapons hes making or just toys? What's your opinion?

  • @SpiderPigg41 Real men use weapons as toys :)

    No contradiction here.

  • Jöerg AUG?

  • The stock and handle remind me of an AA-12

  • @flithyharry It came out fairly massive, so yes, it looks a bit like the AA-12, but I was looking at a Steyr AUG77 originally.

  • @flithyharry: Stock is too long and the trigger guard on an AA-12 isn't rounded

  • @PooPoo2U Right, I don't care about the specifics, I merely commented saying that it reminded me of it. I could say an emerald reminds me of The Sims, but The Sims is in fact not an emerald, it is a computer game.

  • @flithyharry: Yes, but that also doesn't mean your comment would make any sense.

  • @PooPoo2U It doesn't have to make sense. Its a YouTube comment ffs. I could've put 'The mallet wielding baby punchers go to Mexico on a jet propelled dish washer' for gods sake, and the fact that this has gone on so long makes me wish I had

  • joerg can i buld a modified version of one of your designs

  • @bybybrad2 Sure! Go right ahead.

  • I can't wait to make one of these bad boys. thanks Joerg, keep bossing!

  • do you plan to make a bolt or flechette firing version?

  • mwahaha cat fight at 1:57

  • Ready for that video!!!!!!!

  • how many cats do you have haha?

  • Joerg should invent a new weapon for the Army ;]

  • Ever had a dangures accident with one of those things you have made Joerg? They seem so dangures

  • Man, You are one slingshot master :). People do not give the needed praise and approval that you fully deserve Jorge. Keep up the fantastic work, and i'm avidly waiting this how to. Thanks for your time to upload your videos to show people your fantastic creations.

  • Anyone else have to watch twice 'cause they got distracted by the cats? lol

  • Joerg you are the man!! This is a great design. Have you thought about using a piece of angle off one side to mount a scope over the top? I have a more basic bulpup design and have done just that. It seem just fine, sometimes it shoots to the right, but I am sure that is because the release mechanism isn't consistant. I have some Petzl climbing rollers and will use them to not only add draw length but mechanical speed like a lifting pulley system in reverse (2to1 ratio of speed to power).

  • @smeeslj Most of the acceleration (=stretch) happens between the lock and the rollers, though - that is why cams don't work well for slingshots. And yes, the scope must be high and to the left, so it isn't in the way when you cock the weapon.

  • @JoergSprave Thanks for the reply. Do you think the limiting factors on cams etc would be the short length of the band beyond the roller, the inertia of the rollers themselves both slowing the band beyond the roller and delaying/reducing its power input until the ball has left the pouch. Additionally on tappered bands the thicker end would be the last in acceration sequence without rollers, and of course this shorter section would go beyond the heavy roller.

  • @smeeslj The rollers really only eliminate the dead play, in slow motion you can clearly see that the ball is long on its way before the bands retract behind the rollers.

  • @JoergSprave there must be a way to transfer the 'ballista' effect you demonstrated on your Feb 2011 video to a bullpup. I wonder what the effect of using paracord or similar up to the roller then a pulley system to halve the draw weight but double the (theoretical) speed. P.s. I have built a stainless steel slingshot with a red dot sight on it, it uses bearings similar to the one you built with the laser but without the top bar, early indications are it works well.

  • @JoergSprave I need a slow mo camera. It would be great to add visible lines to the bands to see exactly what accerates and when, to work out what to improve for maximum speed..

    *Thumbs up*

    Schwimma

  • thanx and beybey

  • it will be much better in black and with stronger bands.

    good job!!!

  • KITTY!

  • Great work Joerg. Cant wait for the final product and the tute of course. Thanks for your efforts and willingness to share your awesome concepts with all of us.

  • the cats in the background are so cute n distracting! haha!
