  • THE Greatest PG to have NEVER made an All-Star Team. Made the All-Headcase Team pretty much every year, though LOL. A damn shame.

  • it always amazed me at how rock strickland finished around the basket over/under/around dudes lol :)

  • now you know where Kyrie Irving got his skills from, his uncle Rod taught him well

  • @k1mochi

I told somebody the other day he kyrie plays just like rod

  • this is the best video on the internet.

  • i need to know what song this is anyone ?

  • Comment removed

  • @MrKleeb 4th Chamber by GZA

    its a real sick song

  • his game is like andre's miller's

  • My favorite player all time.I started wearing #11 when I was younger becuz of him.N for you ppl saying "WTF r u talking about he wore #1,I was a fan back when he wore #11 in Depaul and when he was a rookie on the Knicks".I remember when I met him when I was like 3.It was like meeting the Pope for me.Best player to never make an allstar team

  • @NextWorldApparel i agree dud was mad nice i pattern my game after him

  • Rod would chew ANY pg during his primE!

  • 1:35, sickest basket ever

  • @danoso0931

ikr? he pretty much shook up mugsy bogues and the whole warriors team lol

  • he was the man back in the day!!!he should have been an all star twice at least!!especially with the wiz!!strickland, cheaney, howard, webber, muresan

  • ill combo - rod and wu - u-god aka golden arms aka rod strickland

  • 98 was an underrated year, period. You never appreciate it until it's gone.

  • very very very very underrated you youngstas betta do some homework

  • Perfect mix of vids and music... One of the illest PG ever to play in the A...

  • My grandfather had season tickets to the Blue Demons in the 80's and I was just a kid, but I distinctly remember Rod Strickland and what kind of a beast this guy was, I only wish he would of made such an impact in the NBA. But I still have all my Depaul Memorabilia to reminisce about...

  • @DiGiTeK Woooow! I loved DePaul back in them days man all those Chicago boys from Westinghouse, from the Mark Aguirre years to Kevin Edwards I was an avid fan, when Joey stopped coaching I stopped watching them...

  • the ny knicks biggest mistake ever!!! they had the nerve to trade him!

  • The assist at the end is pure sickness... Rod Strickland.

  • creative as hell

  • dumars was the truth dude was nice cant argue that the fact that rod didnt make the all star team was a joke because we all know he should have been on 3 at least

  • This is my favorite youtube video of all time.

  • My favorite player, all-time. Probably the most underrated, all-time. lol

  • Yeah, very underrated, best point guard in static offense.

  • I'll marry the move at 1:20 then divorce it to get with the pass at 1:55

  • man .... thats REAL TEXT

  • Kentucky basketball assistant coach holla

  • Rod was good, but another example of an underachiever. He was lazy at times, didnt play defense the whole game & hard to coach. his personallity & work ethic held him back more then his lack of talent did. If the NBA could make stars out of the other bad boys & under achievers, they could of did the same for Rod. He was just like Derick Colman, Micheal Ray Richardson, Kenny Anderson, etc. Supremely gifted, but lacking in the team aspect of the game.

  • not true...he was just an unappreciated introvert.the guy led the league in assists one year n didnt even make an allstar team

  • The nba always had something against "streetballers" Kenny Anderson,Rod Strickland, even Isiah Thomas cause they didn't know how to market them to the world....

  • Every PG in the league was scared to death of Rod.

  • Mark Jackson, Tim Hardaway, John Stockton, Gary Payton, Joe Dumars, Jason Kidd, oh yea, they were all shaken' in their high tops. I could name more, but why do I have to? he was good, not great.

  • Tim Hardaway and Glove never led the league in assists. Rod did. I heard Hardaway interviewed once and he said exactly what I posted. No one wanted to get embarrassed by Rod. And also, Dumars was a 2 guard.

  • Dumars & Thomas both ran the offense better than Rod could. Niether Dumars or Thomas was a pure PG, but both were better then Rod. Rod's game wasnt garbage & he should've made the all star team a few times, but to try & say he was the best in the leauge is rediculous. there were too many other players that had great stats & played the position more consistantly then Rod. Hell everyone in the NBA has a high lite reel. Another PG that was better & more consistant over more years was Kevin Johnson.

  • Dumars was overrated n overhyped.PPL started hoppin on his dick when they claimed he "shut down Jordan".Dumars benefitted from gr8 teammates.Shit Vinny @ times was better than him

  • rod strickland>>>>>>mark jackson

  • I'm hyping him because I got to see him play in his prime for Washington. We never made the play-offs prior to Rod's arrival. The only thing all those guards you mention above have in common is that they all come after Rod on the list of NBA career assist leaders (Rod is #8 ALL TIME). Don't hate him because he's prettier than you are.

  • Tuna makes sum good points but Zeke and Joe D. had waaaay more help than Rod ever had. I believe it was 97-98 season Gary Payton said Rod was the best PG in the league he def was respected by his peers and he used to bust Mark Jackson slow ass why you mention him he was slow and couldnt guard a glass of water and now all he do is suck Kobe dick Scotty locked him down 98 conf finals This nigga had the nerve to tell Scotty Kobe is better than Jordan this was like 05-06 yo is he crazy?

  • @mookeychase0907

yeah he struggled to get the ball over the timeline against pippen in that series

    shit was embarrassing

rod could always beat his guy off the dribble

  • People are haitng on you but what ur saying is real. Rod had all the talent to be one of the great pg's but like so many pg's that could have been great he lacked the work-ethic!

  • your contradicting yourself there. You talk bout how he dont play D, when have you ever seen Nash, Parker or Arenas play D? Turnovers? Arenas? Diddy? lazy-Diddy. Rondo brings fear to opposing teams? Everyone of those players you named needs great teammates to be Elite except Paul and Rod had nobody. I think its unfair to compare them to Rod.

  • The best point guard that ever played the game.

  • the best PG to ever play?!?! Hell 2D Na. he aint even the best PG the Knicks Had. Clyde Frazer, Micheal Ray Richardson, Mark Jackson, Star Bury, & probally one more. Man put the crack pipe dwn!!!

  • He had every right to be angry......he was the purest, coldest, best finishing PG to play during that era & got no respect for his game. He lead the NBA in assist averaging 10.5 ppg and was not selected as an all star...... they fucked him! So yeah he was angry, but his game was nice! D-Rose (Bulls & Rookie of the Year) went to Memphis because Rod was there. True ballers and fan know how bad he was.

  • most underrated player of all time.

  • rod and starks was my favorite knicks backcourt

  • One of the amazing talents to play for the basketball powerhouse Oak Hill Academy.

  • he was certainly a nift playa back in the day ....

  • "garaunteed to make em jump like rod strickland"

  • damn! what cut his career short?

    point god

  • his career wasn't cut short he was in da league 4 17 years dat is very hard 2 do at da point guard spot ....it probably seems lik it because nobody paid much attention to him cuz dere were so many great guards back den such as John Stockton, Gary Payton,Mark Jackson,Kevin Johnson, Tim Haradway, Mookie Blaylock etc... But he would always out play dem and neva get picked 4 an all-star team so ill say he is da most under rated point guard in NBA History

  • Some hard interned ebonics

  • he was so angry that he never got chosen as an all-star, and said if he got selected, he would refuse to play.

  • 1:09---You shiting me?

  • i know

    fucking sick move

  • Srickland was the fuckin man! I remember him playing when I was a kid. I try to tell young guys about him but they dont want to hear me! Especially in Portland!

  • I was thinking the same thing.

  • yea me too. dam

  • strick is my favorite all time player, it's too bad that he was a little crazy. the thing i loved most about him is that he was one of the few NY point guards who was a true playmaker and not a ball-hog. the guy just loved to pass and get people the ball

  • Underated song for a underated player. Strick was amazing.

  • Chris Paul took notes

  • chris paul kinda took notes from tim hardaway

  • T Bug is criminally underated. My fav eva.

  • yeah ...tim hardaway had the most effective crossover and he was quick...

    one of my fav players

  • Tight vid. Good song to put with it too

  • Them Strickland's Can Play some hard down basketball for real.

  • my favorite player ever.I remember i met him @ his brothers college game.he had the sickest behind the back of all time. BTW the song is called triumph.

  • BTW the song is called 4th Chamber. The clip of Ghost in the beginning is from Triumph.

  • that's raekwon actually

  • U right

  • last pass, the best pass ever!!!

  • Yinka Dare is fuckin awesome for clips n song

  • yea

  • One of the best to ever do it...on the streets, in college and the NBA !

  • Rocket Rod was a F#*king Badass!

  • he was before his time, if he played i the and1 era kids would be trying to be like rod strickland all over the world

  • wow!he played in greece in 2006/07 season for a weak club.he was 37 years old i think.i didnt know he was so good PG.realy nice mix.

  • strick had that nyc style and was a great point guard, he never got enough respect. the song is called 4th chamber by wu-tang

  • this cat was hip hop on the court before ai!!!!

  • It's the GZA off the Liquid Swords Album. I dunno the exact name of the song though...

  • 4th chamber by GZA featuring Ghostface Killah, RZA, and Killah Priest

  • Greatest player never to make the all-star team. damn shame.

  • what's the tune?? nice mix

  • the Real PLAYGROUND LEGEND!!!

  • I'm a Wizards fan, Rod Strickland is one of my favorites, he played so smoothly, and he's one of the most overlooked passing point guards ever

  • The Realness that is NEW YORK!

  • What a beautyfull pass!!!!!Wow

  • chris webber needs strickland

  • Rod was one of the most underrated, and possibly under-achieving... He had so much talent, and was doing the "and 1" stuff before it went mainstream.

  • that last pass was freakin sick

  • Thank,s for that my dude! I've been waiting to see that on here for the longest.SRICKLAND was my dude!1 of the most underated of all time in the league,4real, butv if you ask cat's in the league about him!!!THEY'LL TELL YOU,good lookin.

  • Rod was smooth. Never seen anyone work the lane. From DePaul to the NBA.. one of the best.

  • I knew Rod was nice but DAMN!

  • Best Point Guard Ever!!!

  • too nice
