i need help i have skyrim for the xbox 360 and when i get to the door it cant change the code its like its stuck idk if its my controller but unless its my controller im stuck:( plzz help
To conjure anything, such as a Flame Atronach you need to have to crosshairs turn white instead of red. To do this aim at the ground or a rock that is less than a meter away.
@misterG2006 Mine crashed every five minutes. I disable auto-save, and it did not help. Patching also did not help. The disc may have been defective, I'm not sure. I haven't heard of other people having the same problem that I experienced, but it was a major problem for me (and it's also the reason why I only have a few Skyrim videos).
May bad experience may be rare. I'd do some research before buying it on the PS3, though.
@EpicNameBro Return the disc, call the company, what is wrong with you? Why don't you call the people who made it or playstation, and get the situation taken care of, they all have great customer service.
If you want to level up your restoration, here is a quick tip: whenever you go to a blacksmithing forge, jump in the fire pit, and make your health go down. After that, use the healing spell, and you will increase your restoration skill. I also noticed that jumping in the fire pit increases your destruction skill, so that too.
Hey Epic, if your magika is high enough, i suggest you to buy the spell fast healing. its like the skill Healing but it heals you faster in an instant but it consumes more magika.
I haven't been to whiterun yet, but I still have a serious problem.D: i came up to this temple to do the gold claw quest you get in riftwood but the entire temple is glitched. It's hard to explain but i can get the small amount of ruins next to the temple but the entire moutin the temple in built into isn't there, there is only a random door, and i cannot get the the door (which matches the door used to get into the temple) because it just cuts off (the ground) and if i walk onto it i get stuck.

Playstations customer service is great, and so is this games customer service, so call them. I hate to hear people say things like "I had to quit playing due to bugs"? Maybe you bought a xbox, that could be your problem.
Epic (or anyone wise) it would be a REALLY REALLY REALLY BIG HELP if you could tell me what is up with my PS3 copy of Skyrim. I'm having issues were large parts of the game refusing to load or render i.e. the stairs leading to bleak falls barrow doors. It has happened in places such as whiterun when I've walked into the town and been greeted by a field full of floating frontdoors. Is this something that can be resolved by exchanging for another disk or is it deeper than that?

@EpicNameBro Hey man, Just a small tip, I just found it while playing earlier, look in the pickpocket perk tree. There is this one Perk that gives you 100 more carry weight called extra pockets or something, I found it really usefull later on in the game when I find myself collecting a large amount of items.
When you start playing again, go to whiterun and complete the questline there from the Jarl. You'll get a companion named Lydia and she is a huge help.
The load times are kind of long. Is it just because of my PS3 or does it not feel long because Epic is always talking about something during the load time in his vid? I have the fat 80gb MGS4 bundle PS3, so I'm thinking it has to do w/ that. Takes a good 20-30 seconds to even load a store or a dungeon, longer even for Skyrim.
I'm sure you already know this man, but I think it might be your location or bc it's psn but the day of release at 10:30 am I arleady had an updated patch for this game fixing almost all of the glitches and so far I'm 50 hours in and my game has froze just once. So idk. I agree though, you shouldn't have to deal with that shiz.
Hey Epic, I don't know if it's been mentioned, but you can actually use arrows to misdirect/distract enemies. They will usually look towards where the arrow landed instead of where the arrow came from. So it's a great strategy if you wanna sneak by them or get the jump on them.
some more advice for the zombies in the cyrpts. When you sneak and you see sleeping zombies, look for the ones with armor. you can sneak shoot them out of their crypts. The archer ones don't have armor, but you can see the differences. Mainly any that have clothes, shoot them. lol.

As far as detect life goes, you can get a dragon shout that does the same thing. Take a coach to winterhold and do sw to Northwind Summit. There's a badass white dragon you fight at the top, then you get the first word to the detect life shout.

like first time 20 then 5% more 25 and so one i dont get the 5/5 on steath so i am not sure what is the highest % in that but you also need to level up the sneak higher because i am kind of a Melee Fighter in this with Heavy Armor lol, and 2 hand weapon not much in Magic
Can anyone confirm for me if using stamina dealing poison on dragons makes them fall? I had one crash next to me, but I have no idea what happened, other than wasting their stamina, though it's never happened since then lulz.
Epic, quick request, can you do a commentary on white/black tendency in Demon's Souls? I beat the game and now I want to plat it but I'm a noob at understanding how the tendencies are raised. If you can that'd be great. If not, do you know a good, clear reference? Thanks!!!
@9thGenHero Look up the wiki on google, it explains it fairly well. Quick overview though: Online it takes the average tendency of everyone else playing online when you load the game; and on offline it stays like you last left it. Killing NPCs changes to light or dark, good npcs and pking players gives dark, bosses and phantoms changes to white.
@EpicNameBro I'm disturbed by your Auto-Save feature saving over your game file... I didn't know that was even possible. However, it is EXTREMELY easy to save your game file over an Auto-Save slot, only to have it overwritten with the next Auto-Save.

As for the Draugr, they are essentially ancient Nords who worshipped the dragons before they were banished (which is why they aren't allowed to rest, and their souls did not go to Sovngarde, which is pretty much just Valhalla). I'm not sure if they were just ancient Nords though, or 'Nedes' who were the ancient people of the North (they became the current 'Nords' through breeding with heartlanders from the provinces further south)
maxing out sneak & archery is a great combination. the perks that let you zoom & slow down time, stagger ememies 50% of the time, faster bow draws, moving faster with drawn bow, higher criticals & more damage, combined with the sneak skills, makes the sneak/archery class A LOT of fun to use
If your planning on joining the Thieves Guild, then be sure to save often on different save files because you will eventually get the quest called Scoundrel's Folly where you have to shadow an NPC, but this quest is glitched.
For some reason the NPC that you have to follow can suddenly disappear making you unable to speak to him and thus to complete the quest which pretty much instantly freezes the entire guild's questline.
This happened to me and I'm now hoping this will get fixed with a patch.
When the eye is blinking it means that the NPC is searching for you. You can get Sven by doing a quest for him, but you can also choose to get Faendal by doing the quest in his favor. Visiting the College of Winterhold would be a great choice seeing as it provides plenty of magic training, as well as great opportunities to sneak. When getting the enemies attention with an arrow, they will be drawn to the place the arrow impacts.
Gotta say, I've checked out other Skyrim LP's, and they tend to loose me at around 5 minutes just because of the commentary. I don't know if its your voice, your attitude or just the way you commentate, but I was able to listen to this vid from start to finish. Honestly, you sound like a pretty cool dude to hang with.
there is actually a few bugs on ps3 regarding auto save, one of which is an infinitely increasing file size that will after not long kill the games frame rate so it's best to have it off on ps3 anyway (360 and PC have their own issues as well I'm not hating)
@EpicNameBro if you want a stelthy style and use magic you might want to spend some points on illusion cause there is a perk that makes all magic quiet
Hey Epic you forgot to grab that blizzard scroll again at the end! Also when in melee you can do multiple styles of power attacks that staggers the enemy by holding L1 or R1 while moving different directions with the left stick and even a power combo when dual wielding by holding L1 and R1 simultaneously.
To find out your active and passive effects (i.e. being poisoned or buff strength) go to the Magic part of the Magic, Skills, Map and Items menu. At the very bottom of the list is the Active Effects tab.There you go.
@vicriv8282 Yeah, I hate that about this game. WTF happened to the Active buffs part of the HUD? It would be nice to know I'm poisoned, or how long a spell I cast is gonna last, etc. That's why I'll buy the PC version as well, so I can put on user-created mods that make the game better.
@EpicNameBro im sure you realize this by now, but using the traps to your advantage is probably not the best thing to do if you are trying to level your skills up. Its funny to see an enemy run into it, but there are no other advantages to that. Oh, and remember to pay attention to the name of the enemies because you can get killed by underestimating what you think might be a regular drauger when in reality its a restless drauger or worse.
The caves tend to be pretty much like the one you're in, right now. Not always. Sometimes nothing happens--sometimes, though, even random ones will have a quest. I'd say more but I don't want to ruin the awesomeness of you being surprised by the random quest system in this game.
Lastly, sheathe your weapon if you want to pan around your character. If you don't, your character will turn with your weapon.
The draugr are 'zombies' of real Norse mythology what makes them different than the typical zombie is that they only inhabit their tombs for the must part. Also if a draugr is encountered outside away from its grave it cannot be killed until it is lured back to its grave. No of this holds true for Skyrim but it makes for some cool useless information. The draugr in- game are just the ancient ancestors of Skyrim.
Dragur are in Norse mythology. They are basically fallen viking warriors that have the strength to level entire towns by themselves. They cannot be killed or injured and the only way to incapacitate one is to bury it in the cemetery it was buried originally, and that will only stop it from moving. They are intelligent enough to be able to speak.
One of the loading screens says that the Draugrs were the servants of dragons and they have been cursed with undeath for their treachery. So yes, they were Nords that sided with the dragons. When the dragons died off they were cursed by something/someone for their betrayal against humanity.
Would you recommend this game to someone who is a fan of the Soul series but also love's the Fallout series too. I'm thinking of getting the game but not sold on it yet. I'm new the series like you but I played Bethesda games.
@ShunJ89 I think it's pretty fair to say that you know what you are getting into if you are familiar with Fallout and like the fantasy theme. It's a lot of fun so far. The melee combat is my only gameplay gripe, really, but that's only because I've been playing DkS recently.
@rainbowxfddbb I'm up to 7MB per save and creeping, and I do occasionally get some stutter/frame rate drops. I don't understand why its creeping up so much. Only major time was when I was fighting 5 mages and I had my follower and Flame Atronach. There was WAY too many spell particles, and my screen nearly froze, which I didn't think was possible with PS3...
@EvilKingPhill I found out, (Don't know if it works for other PS3 users but) When the frame rate on mine starts to "lose control", I just turn off my system for about a minute and turn it back on and bingo! Frame rate is at a decent pace. :) On average, It only happens once a full day. Which is ok for me.

@EpicNameBro autosave is not quite as bad as you think. I honestly have to say that it has saved me MANY times. I dont feel its necessary to save everywhere i go so i dont. And sometimes i will go exploring into a ruin somewhere and get raped by a some hidden trap somewhere and auto save will put me right back at the door instead of 3 hours earlier lol
Just a heads up if you're talking about what I think you are, but I believe the game always uses the first save slot for a main save when starting a new game for some reason. Same thing happened to me and I think I've encountered that same issue on Oblivion at one time, but other than that first manual save problem the autosave feature works just fine. It'll never save over a manual so you don't have to stress out to much over it.
Anyone know whether or not skills level faster on harder difficulty? I find that skills level faster on tougher enemies, so does it apply for the difficulty setting as well?
Just wanted to answer a question you asked another viewer. Difficulty does not effect (affect? who gives a sht) sneak detection. As far as I can tell difficulty increase only increases damage output and damage intake of enemies. Yes you will hit them more so you can gain ranks in your attack based skills, but there is not better loot or anything like that. I will say i had to drop off of master because i could handle about one enemy at a time, and basically no magic users.
@lethanelis same here, although I wasn't expecting better loot, it takes too much time to bring down an enemy and magic users basically rip you apart. That said, the diff is just fine on Expert I find ^^
@lethanelis When I played on Master, I relied heavily on Illusion spells such as Calm and Fear and Fury, and the later mass versions of those spells, for breaking up groups. It's a lot easier to take a group down when two of them are fleeing/ sitting there like idiots.
@EvilKingPhill Yeah, I'm going to switch back later, but at the moment I'm primarily a melee... I use bows for the sneak attack and that sort of thing. I use very little spells, thinking of using enchantment now that my smith is 100.
Epic, just in case you didn't know, when you cant search a draugr that means they're alive and you can actually kill them while they're laying down like that, bring out a melee weapon and do a sneak attack and BAM! free kill

TIP: if you wanna look at your character (for dramatic effect 48:40 ), you can only do it if your weapon is NOT drawn.
and I believe all undeads are weak against fire. And yes it is RPG common sense ^_^ OOOOOOOR heal them! another final fantasy rpg thing. fun fun fun.
To heal targets, you need to spell "Healing Hands" I believe.

As far as detect life goes, you can get a dragon shout that does the same thing. Take a coach to winterhold and do sw to Northwind Summit. There's a badass white dragon you fight at the top, then you get the first word to the detect life shout.

like first time 20 then 5% more 25 and so one i dont get the 5/5 on steath so i am not sure what is the highest % in that but you also need to level up the sneak higher because i am kind of a Melee Fighter in this with Heavy Armor lol, and 2 hand weapon not much in Magic

Can anyone confirm for me if using stamina dealing poison on dragons makes them fall? I had one crash next to me, but I have no idea what happened, other than wasting their stamina, though it's never happened since then lulz.

@9thGenHero Look up the wiki on google, it explains it fairly well. Quick overview though: Online it takes the average tendency of everyone else playing online when you load the game; and on offline it stays like you last left it. Killing NPCs changes to light or dark, good npcs and pking players gives dark, bosses and phantoms changes to white.

It adds 5 % and isn't worth it really; do the thieves guild and you'll get all the items to be a master stealth build character.

@EpicNameBro I'm disturbed by your Auto-Save feature saving over your game file... I didn't know that was even possible. However, it is EXTREMELY easy to save your game file over an Auto-Save slot, only to have it overwritten with the next Auto-Save.

That being said, they're usually more useful being sold than used. Also: Food items that you pick up can be combined at campfires where you see the cooking kettles to make special food items that have different effects ranging from replenishing life and stamina to increasing the speed at which your magicka regenerates.

As for the Draugr, they are essentially ancient Nords who worshipped the dragons before they were banished (which is why they aren't allowed to rest, and their souls did not go to Sovngarde, which is pretty much just Valhalla). I'm not sure if they were just ancient Nords though, or 'Nedes' who were the ancient people of the North (they became the current 'Nords' through breeding with heartlanders from the provinces further south)

maxing out sneak & archery is a great combination. the perks that let you zoom & slow down time, stagger ememies 50% of the time, faster bow draws, moving faster with drawn bow, higher criticals & more damage, combined with the sneak skills, makes the sneak/archery class A LOT of fun to use

If your planning on joining the Thieves Guild, then be sure to save often on different save files because you will eventually get the quest called Scoundrel's Folly where you have to shadow an NPC, but this quest is glitched.
For some reason the NPC that you have to follow can suddenly disappear making you unable to speak to him and thus to complete the quest which pretty much instantly freezes the entire guild's questline.
This happened to me and I'm now hoping this will get fixed with a patch.

great tip for you:
you can look behind corners without exposing yourself to whatever is behind it, by switching the character view.
switch to the third person view, circle the camera around the corner to see if there is something switch back to FPV and do shit

When the eye is blinking it means that the NPC is searching for you. You can get Sven by doing a quest for him, but you can also choose to get Faendal by doing the quest in his favor. Visiting the College of Winterhold would be a great choice seeing as it provides plenty of magic training, as well as great opportunities to sneak. When getting the enemies attention with an arrow, they will be drawn to the place the arrow impacts.

Gotta say, I've checked out other Skyrim LP's, and they tend to loose me at around 5 minutes just because of the commentary. I don't know if its your voice, your attitude or just the way you commentate, but I was able to listen to this vid from start to finish. Honestly, you sound like a pretty cool dude to hang with.

there is actually a few bugs on ps3 regarding auto save, one of which is an infinitely increasing file size that will after not long kill the games frame rate so it's best to have it off on ps3 anyway (360 and PC have their own issues as well I'm not hating)

Hey Epic you forgot to grab that blizzard scroll again at the end! Also when in melee you can do multiple styles of power attacks that staggers the enemy by holding L1 or R1 while moving different directions with the left stick and even a power combo when dual wielding by holding L1 and R1 simultaneously.

To find out your active and passive effects (i.e. being poisoned or buff strength) go to the Magic part of the Magic, Skills, Map and Items menu. At the very bottom of the list is the Active Effects tab.There you go.

@EpicNameBro im sure you realize this by now, but using the traps to your advantage is probably not the best thing to do if you are trying to level your skills up. Its funny to see an enemy run into it, but there are no other advantages to that. Oh, and remember to pay attention to the name of the enemies because you can get killed by underestimating what you think might be a regular drauger when in reality its a restless drauger or worse.

Draugrs are just dead nords.
The caves tend to be pretty much like the one you're in, right now. Not always. Sometimes nothing happens--sometimes, though, even random ones will have a quest. I'd say more but I don't want to ruin the awesomeness of you being surprised by the random quest system in this game.
Lastly, sheathe your weapon if you want to pan around your character. If you don't, your character will turn with your weapon.
Oh wait, this is lastly: love your vids.

The draugr are 'zombies' of real Norse mythology what makes them different than the typical zombie is that they only inhabit their tombs for the must part. Also if a draugr is encountered outside away from its grave it cannot be killed until it is lured back to its grave. No of this holds true for Skyrim but it makes for some cool useless information. The draugr in- game are just the ancient ancestors of Skyrim.

Dragur are in Norse mythology. They are basically fallen viking warriors that have the strength to level entire towns by themselves. They cannot be killed or injured and the only way to incapacitate one is to bury it in the cemetery it was buried originally, and that will only stop it from moving. They are intelligent enough to be able to speak.

One of the loading screens says that the Draugrs were the servants of dragons and they have been cursed with undeath for their treachery. So yes, they were Nords that sided with the dragons. When the dragons died off they were cursed by something/someone for their betrayal against humanity.

@ShunJ89 I think it's pretty fair to say that you know what you are getting into if you are familiar with Fallout and like the fantasy theme. It's a lot of fun so far. The melee combat is my only gameplay gripe, really, but that's only because I've been playing DkS recently.

@rainbowxfddbb I'm up to 7MB per save and creeping, and I do occasionally get some stutter/frame rate drops. I don't understand why its creeping up so much. Only major time was when I was fighting 5 mages and I had my follower and Flame Atronach. There was WAY too many spell particles, and my screen nearly froze, which I didn't think was possible with PS3...

@EvilKingPhill I found out, (Don't know if it works for other PS3 users but) When the frame rate on mine starts to "lose control", I just turn off my system for about a minute and turn it back on and bingo! Frame rate is at a decent pace. :) On average, It only happens once a full day. Which is ok for me.

@EpicNameBro autosave is not quite as bad as you think. I honestly have to say that it has saved me MANY times. I dont feel its necessary to save everywhere i go so i dont. And sometimes i will go exploring into a ruin somewhere and get raped by a some hidden trap somewhere and auto save will put me right back at the door instead of 3 hours earlier lol

I wish I could leave it on, because it is a useful feature. But there are bugs right now that make it unusable for me.

Just a heads up if you're talking about what I think you are, but I believe the game always uses the first save slot for a main save when starting a new game for some reason. Same thing happened to me and I think I've encountered that same issue on Oblivion at one time, but other than that first manual save problem the autosave feature works just fine. It'll never save over a manual so you don't have to stress out to much over it.

Just wanted to answer a question you asked another viewer. Difficulty does not effect (affect? who gives a sht) sneak detection. As far as I can tell difficulty increase only increases damage output and damage intake of enemies. Yes you will hit them more so you can gain ranks in your attack based skills, but there is not better loot or anything like that. I will say i had to drop off of master because i could handle about one enemy at a time, and basically no magic users.

@lethanelis When I played on Master, I relied heavily on Illusion spells such as Calm and Fear and Fury, and the later mass versions of those spells, for breaking up groups. It's a lot easier to take a group down when two of them are fleeing/ sitting there like idiots.
